Technically Giovanni being silvers son would be another part of the multiverse because with time travel there still isn't any way for Giovanni to be silvers son as without Giovanni in the time line giving birth to silver we wouldn't have a silver and silver is a mix of Giovanni and someone else's genes so unless it was a different universe silver would always be the son
Personally I want an Evil Champion. In the Red and Blue manga, Lance and the Elite 4 were a powerful force Red had to overcome. Having the Champion as the main villain will make the battle even more epic!
This is exactly what I want to see, with the twist being the "evil" team are actually heroes trying to prevent the Champion's schemes. The Champ uses his/her popularity & resources to discredit their efforts at every turn, making them seem like dangerous zealots and manipulating the player into stopping them.
I think a combination. Half the the gym leaders and elite four are evil, but you don't know which ones. At the end there is a civil war/pokemon battle. And the post game is you, as champion, finding and recruiting new gym leaders and your own elite four.
@@Mr0011011 An infiltration plot of Hydra-level proportions would be really cool for a villainous team to pull off. Thinking realistically for a moment though... None of our ideas are likely to happen anytime soon, if ever. Each League is basically the government of its respective region, and considering how closely Game Freak draws from true-life locations for inspiration... It might get more political backlash than they'd ever want to handle. Until they do a setting with minimal true-to-life connections like Orre, future villains will continue to exist outside established political institutions.
For some reason, in the D and P remakes I want to see a counterpart of Arceus that is evil... I also want to be able to become a gym leader in the game...like retire from being the champion and actually make your own gym

I'd like to see some kind of voice communication with your Pokemon while in the camp (or whatever future version of it may come). You can call out the Pokemon name (or nickname) to bring it to you, you can ask if it wants to play with a Poke Toy or Ball, ask if it's hungry or feeling happy/sad, etc., say "stop it!" if two or more are fighting, and much more. Of course, this could be a feature you can turn off or on in the settings menu. Since it would be weird to talk to your Switch out in public. And, while this isn't a new feature, I 'd be happy to be able to pet my Pokemon again. Whether it be in the camp or in the midst of battle. It's a small little feature I really enjoyed and don't understand why they removed it.
Swamp Gym! Specializes in Grass with Water, Bug and Poison as secondary typings and have some Pokemon that are a combo of those like the Oddish line, the Bellsprout line, the Lotad line and the Paras line but also have a few trainers in there that use pure Bug or pure Poison etc.
I’m surprised that we haven’t gotten a chili pepper Pokémon with the dual typing of grass fire. Maybe they’ll make one when they go with Central/South American region?
So to expand upon your idea of more then 8 gyms and multi type gyms, what if it worked liked this: First gym: single type, always the same person and normal type 2-7: dual type speciality (but there are loads of options up to the the other 18 types, so nine gyms) Final gym: same person and no type speciality.
The dual-type speciality shouldn't just be known as grass and water but after a specialised topic. For example, if you were doing electric and steel, it could be a electronics or engineering gym. Water and Ice could be a gym based on colder environments near the sea like the Arctic or Antarctica. The Arctic sea gym. Don't just say it's gym but give it a theme that relates to both types.
Also, dont make the first gym normal. Black/white had an amazing concept with the brothers and having different types depending on your starter. Maybe not make their ace a horrible little monkey that barely fits into its type, but some sort of dual type that is not only super effective against your starter, but also has a resistance to the main type that trumps it. Like for example you started out with the grass starter? Cool. The first gym leader will have a fire/steel type pokemon. Picked fire? You're facing down a water/flying type, or a water/dragon if the pokemon company and game freak are feeling spicy. You picked water? Time to battle a grass/water or grass/rock type, or if they decide to differ from the grass/fire/water they could do an electric/water or electric/rock.
@@buzzak6889 clever concept. Yeah the first pokemon being a single type like petil, vulpix and chewtle. Then the second being two times resitant. E.g. Grass you may have a Salandit. Fire a Tirtouga and water... A lotad? Or a grass/electric thats a new pokemon. The concept teaches young players type advantages and both old and young to build a team to deal with type disadantages from an early standpoint, using wild pokemon from the beginning
In my OT story, gym leaders are given a device that detects the opponent's pokémon levels and scale their levels accordingly And while the gyms themselves are types, but there's 'sub-gyms' that are themed instead
I just had a really cool idea! What if one of the games took on a prequel to the first game. In Red/Blue, characters talk about a Pokemon war. In this game, you star as a recruit and pick a starter and as you go through the game, you are adding in the war. Instead of having gym leaders, there are generals. You also do tasks in each town to aid your side in the fight. Maybe the side team is like double agents/ spies. Each evil side is trying to obtain the games legendary to help turn the tide in their favor. You could meet younger version of characters like Blain or Lt. Surge and maybe ever have custom armor for Pokemon like in Let's Go with outfits. At the end of the game you don't take on the Elite 4, but the final Captains of the opposing side. At the end you become a Legendary hero instead of the Pokemon champion. I think this could be legit.
unless your doing some kind of challenge run, your going to have at least a few reoccurring members, having more than one type gym leaders isn't a terrible idea, just not a necessary one for that reason.

This game is simply impossible. Levels would be an issue. Data-space would be another. We have another with the pacing of the story. And yet another with the time it would take to create such a monstrosity.
I'd want the rival to stop picking the pokemon weak to you. I'd like to see personally you having to get the trust of your starter before it joins you like by borrowing a professors pokemon a bit like how Wally had to go battle ralts. But love the branches evolution idea Hoops.
I would love the Gyms in any order. I makes me think of Megaman and boss battles. It further pushes the idea that leaders carry pokemon of all levels for any challenger.
Another idea would be for the player's father to be the champion of the Pokemon League, extra points if he's also the Professor. Also, having the Player's mother as the first gym leader could be cool.
Scaling wild levels to the amount of gym badges you have would be genius Also, the gym leaders can be done with variables Instead of assigning team levels to each leader, assign it to an order so for instance, gym 1 would be lv15-17 or whatever, gym 2 being lv24-26 etc Pokemon Origins established that each leader has a potential team for each level a trainer could be at, so this would also make sense in-universe anyway
I would love for gyms to focus more on the battle strategy aspects of Pokémon to educate the players on the competitive side of Pokémon. For example, the first gym focuses on hold items. Second gym on status and arena effect moves, third gym on weather, fourth on EVs and how EVs affect a Pokémon’s specialization and function on a team, etc... AND I would like for them to build on it too. Like that the second gym not only focuses on status and arena moves, but also utilized hold items from the first gym’s theme to help them as well. That way gyms still have a specific theme but are not focused on a type. And even for beginner trainers who have no interest in PvP, they would still have an easy time - but not too easy - because they aren’t bound to the same rules (switching doesn’t cost a turn and they can use items to heal their Pokémon in battle).
Add to that no “SWITCH” Battle Style. It’s like they give you the ability to read the other trainers mind on what they will send out and that just seems to easy. “SET” should be the standard.
Willie Ferguson Oh absolutely! I would have that option as well so that way beginning players can use these NPCs as practice runs before going into a Battle Tower-sequel setting or PvP. But I know there are a lot of people that do allow themselves to use items and to switch because they are more interested in the story and world building in Pokémon, rather than the actual strategy.

Yeah, even as a child I found it kind of ridiculous that the game never truly teaches the players how to properly set up your team and strategize properly, other than type advantage. I know they were criticized for a lot of hand-holding for X and Y, but I think they could integrate battle strategy tutorials through the use of the gym system to make it feel more... natural. I understand that the system needs to be simple for children, but I think even children would be able to grasp most of the basics (if your Pokémon holds leftovers, a little of their hp is restored in battle).
3:05 funny thing, the 2nd feature with the evil Professor Plot twist actually happened in a pokemon game but not exactly a real one. It was a Roblox game which was called Pokemon Brick Bronze the Professor was revealed at some point that he was the leader and had to battle the player ( Also note; he used starter pokemon)
The type specialty is why Crasher Wake is challenging, you know that he’s a water type user going into the battle, but you can’t only use a grass or electric type, you’d have to have both for super effective hits. His Floatzel having Ice Fang and being fast walls grass types, which definitely can catch you off guard
On the subject of time travel, I had an idea for a Pokemon Past & Future thing. Where, halfway through the game, you’re teleported one way or the other depending on your version and it completely changes what pokemon are available. Like seeing what Aerodactyl looked like in the past or seeing how Tentacruel adapts to the future.
Does anyone remember in gen 1 games, when you go across the bridge in city where Misty's gym is, there's a team rocket grunt who asks you: "do you want to join team rocket" or something like that? When I played it for the first I thought I got a possibility to choose, but unfortunately I hadn't. So it could be good idea if you're at some point got the possibility you want to be good or evil trainer and got different storyline
There is a rom hack of Pokémon Crystal version that is an open world style game that lets you explore Kanto or Johto from the start and has a gym system exactly like the one you were wanting; all 16 gyms are available to battle from the start, you still need 8 badges to qualify for the Elite four, but you can choose whichever eight you want. And the levels are all determined on the number of badges you have already obtained. Called "Pokémon Crystal Clear" it's actually really dope
Like how a lot of the ideas in this are in scarlet and violet. Any gym order (but doesn't scale), plot twist about leader of enemy team (penny both being the big boss and helping you take them down), professor being evil (little stretch as they were ai that was controlled to fight you), and time travel (another slight stretch as only the pokemon time travel to the present).
For the professor idea, I could see it more about them being so blinded by their goal uncover or learn about something in the world that they accidentally, if not intentionally, unleash Armageddon. Essentially, “curiosity killed the cat.” Someone I could see being a part of an “evil” organization is the rival. It could be anything from the reverse of Gladion, in which, rather than becoming “good” down the road, their frustration gets to them as they become desperate to beat the player or even turn the whole league system on its head.
One feature I've always wanted was to have a playable adult character. This would take player customization to a whole new level, and I think it'll help a lot with immersion. This feature could tie in really nice with your last point on time travel. Perhaps the game could start us off as the usual 10 year old, but we could have the option to make our hero look more mature as the game progresses. Time travel can help with choosing our age at any given point.

I rival they actually gives you a challenge, difficulty modes or master mode, a game with starters that are a different type, connecting all the region's in one game, better gameplay.
"Connecting all the regions in one game." is an all-time favorite hope but explain one thing to me: How are levels supposed to work in this utter Behemoth of a game?

I think the evil professor twist can be a good idea, it can easily help kids learn how put judgments over emotions, and how to question someone’s motives.
There is SOME precedent for Time Travel in the Pokémon Universe relatively recently, but it’s the anime. In the Alola Anime Ash goes back in time and meets Child Kukui and his Litten. Ash also entered a different world that was mostly wiped out by ultra beasts.
While I’m not 100% sold on the idea of gyms with multiple type specialties, one thing I wouldn’t mind seeing is gym leaders with counters to their Pokémon’s weaknesses. Sw/Sh already touched on this a bit; with Leon’s signature Charizard knowing solar beam which enables it to use the grass type max move, Opal and Bede both having Pokémon to counter poison types, and Raihan using weather along with rock and a partial steel type to counter two of dragon’s biggest weaknesses.
Some of my wishes: 1. A more fun way to get mythicals AND I, the average player, get to get all of them and am not limited to events and stopped by other inconvenience 2. Extreme personalization of my player character such as myself as Blaine/Camper Shane and along those lines 3. maybe just make nuzlocke and randomizer actual features
I’ve been waiting for alternative themed gyms for ages! Not as in type but rather based on other themes that tie a party together. Whether it’s a weather-based team, a cute team, one based off shinies, one color palette, one gender, based off food or inanimate objects, fossils, etc.
In my Pokèmon d&d campaign, the professor is the main villain and the elite 4 are the admins but i didnt really reveal them until the group was at the e4. Their goal was to have power over the entire region and were nearly successful as all they had to do was get the professor to become champion which the players must prevent.
I liked Professor Kukui the best because he's not only the local Professor, he's also the de facto Champion of Alola. There's a very satisfying "Final Exam" feeing of the Professor being the final boss (or at least one of them).
Funny how we kind of got some of these in Scarlet and Violet. Gyms can be done in any order as your movement upgrades are tied to a different plot. Gym leaders use Pokémon that have an advantage over one of their weaknesses (for the most part) that serves as their ace in the hole. Time travel was a plot point in them and Legends Arceus. The professor wasn’t exactly a villain, but their shortcomings are an important part of the plot. Oh and while they aren’t a proper branch evolution, we did get Hisuian forms of Decidueye, Samurott and Typhlosion.
It would take a lot of development to be able to travel to all the regions, starting in Kanto or Johto or whatever league. I'd rather that than time traveling.
i really feel like they should go in the direction of gym leaders with non-type specialties. they could have leaders specialize in different status conditions or battle gimmicks like weather or transforming pokemon, but nowadays they could even make gym leaders have different types of battles. one leader could do double battles, another triple battles, and even have a gym leader that specializes in mega evolution, or a gym that allows z moves, and things like that.
Love these ideas! Couple tiny points; Pokémon almost have natural levels because if evolutions. If only lower level Pokémon (not baby but kid gen Pokémon)are out in the easy to reach places with the levels gradually increasing (and thus the higher evolutions would be found more frequently) as you venture deeper and deeper into each area or dungeon. That way players couldn’t abuse the system by collecting all their Pokémon before gaining badges
For wild pokemon leveling they could make the grass patches super low all over but as you get badges you gain bew abilitys to reach further parts of the grass patches and routes with higher leveled mons giving incentive to go back and re explore the whole map as the player progresses
I think the biggest problem to your wanting to choose which gym you start or challenge in different order would be the amount of the programs that would need to change. The software would have to change the team you face based on which number it is. And the other problem would probably be due to the fact.... It's an rpg, they stick to a near constant of linear progression of where you can access. Even having some places that can't in 1 area that can't be fully accessed till a later plot point. Rogue Galaxy was a big example of that for me.
I'd love branched starter evos. I was just thinkin this yesterday. I really like Inciniroar now thanks to the anime but, i was SERIOUSLY disappoint in its design back when it got revealed cus, they had an awesome 4 legged starter line goin ad woulda been awesome to see that with tis final evo but nope. :/ So if this happens it'd be nice if they go back to Torracat and give it a new evo thats on 4 legs still.
I was literally thinking about the idea of branched starters earlier today. Maybe they could reach their final form by stone instead of level up as well. I like the following idea: two stones, one called the "Uplift Stone" and one called the "Feral Stone" If you choose the Uplift Stone, your starter will assume a final form that becomes more anthropomorphic, fitting in with the trend of anthropomorphic starters that began around Gen 6. If you choose the Feral Stone, your starter will become more wild and animal-like fitting in with the pre-Gen 6 starters. I also think it would be neat if one of the player's parent's is the champion or the leader of the antagonist team. Heck, maybe do both. Like the Champion and Team Leader are on opposing sides but they still have feelings for each other, and they legitimately try to connect with the PC once they realize you're they're kid(In my scenario the PC was adopted to keep them out of the struggle between their bio parents.) You don't need to make it edgy or angsty either, like the following hypothetical conversation(disclaimer, I am by no means a professional writer): Team Leader Parent(flustered after being pursued by Champion Parent): Oh hi Honey! Didn't expect to see you around here! Champion Parent: You're getting sloppy Dear! I know the only way you could possibly generate that much Macguffinite is by catching the Legendary Pokemon! And perhaps once Team Leader Parent is defeated and being lead away in handcuffs, they give a quick "Give your mom/dad a buttkicking for me, ok?" to the PC.
Maybe not a full free roam through the gyms, but maybe route areas being more like wild areas with a few gyms at that level, and major cities marking the transition to the next higher bracket
I do like the idea of gyms being challenged in any order and having more than 8 gyms, but the problem is that, due to moves and evolutions changing with the levels, the more advanced gyms would also need more pokemon, so essentially each gym leader would need to have a new team programmed in for each number of badges you hold, kinda bringing the number of gym leaders in the game from 8 to 64 (if they have a different team for each number of badges you have). Add onto this more than 8 gyms and you've got at least 80 gym leader teams that need to be created by the devs, including team composition, movesets, potions held by the leader and held items.
I remember when there was a rumor that the alolan starters had a different secondary type depending on the island you evolved it on!...... Grass, Flying, Electric, Ground,...Fire, Dark, Poison, Ghost.... and Water, Fairy, Psychic and Ice
I agree with selecting your own gym leaders to fight in any order. It would fit well with an open world environment. Besides, if there are more than 8 gyms, a player can return to gyms he hasn't fought and help his pokemon level up. If I may add, though, it would make sense to re-battle gym leaders and they would give out other items other than just badges.
I have an idea: have two story modes; one where its the normal adventure and the other as members of the villainous team, and you'd get two sets of starters depending on what story mode you choose. Also: make the villainous team be an actual threat again and not a minor inconvenience.
Going with the multiple specialty gyms, I was thinking they should do themed gyms. For instance, a gym leader who specializes in horse based Pokémon like Ponyta/Rapidash and Mudbray/Mudsdale. Or, flightless birds, like Doduo/Dodrio and Eiscue. It would, in a sense, be like having multiple type specialties.
I absolutely support the middle topic in conception. In fact, I'm making a region where that's the format of how gyms operate (mostly). If I publicize my ideas on it I really hope that you'll recognize it. The region acts as more of a blend of the other regions (with only Alola getting sparring mentions), so I'm adding in features I think all kinds of players will like.
There was this one popular Roblox pokemon game called pokemon brick bronze (Got deleted due to copyright :( ) where the professor was the evil team leader and revealed himself after the 4th gym, was a huge plot twist, and he kidnapped are rival, who later joined the evil team to protect us from him, was a really fun game overall, would do anything to get it back
I want a game based around the idea brought up in Unova “Kyurem and the other dragons all fusing into someone unknown legendary thing.” I want to take that idea and apply it to a new Generation of starters. They won’t have monsters stats because they’re just starters and the game needs to be challenging. Only throughout the entire game you’re told that the three stater Pokemon are all pieces to a larger puzzle until you find out any of the three can fuse with the end game Legendary which can take three different forms depending on the starter fused with it.
Gym Leader's levelling to you is already explained. in the Origins series, we see Brock picking out Geodude and Onix specifically because Red doesn't have any badges. Like, if he had more Brock would bring out a Rhyhorn and Graveler instead of Geodude or something.
I think the gym thing could be done if they were still themed, just not necessarily type themed. I could see them being more area themed like beach (could have like a Kingler and a Palossand) or cave (could have like a Graveler amd Crobat). Still with varying typings so you don’t just sweep, but still themed and memorable.
Everything depending on how many gym badges you have is is good idea, but they would need to have alternate teams for each badge level. Also wild Pokemon could be like the wild area, and you catch them if you have the level badge
Several of these, like the non-linear progression, or gyms that aren't based on types, are ideas I'd written about on another site as well. For example with gyms, there's other ways that they could be done, by instructing the trainers on gameplay mechanics that gym leaders would specialize in. Some of these could overlap with typings, to maintain some familiarity and ease of play for younger players. These would be gym specialties such as: Type resistances (Dragon types resist all the starter elements) Type weaknesses (similar to Cilan, Chili, and Cress) Type neutrality and base stats (strong Normal types) Gender (infatuation, Pokemon with Rivalry, Cute Charm, etc.) - this could also be the breeding town, and the gym leader may teach about Natures and IVs Priority moves specialist (Dark type, likely) Status effects (Electric types with Toxic; assorted Pokemon with Guts) Weather (Castform could be buffed in this generation, or strategies like Raihan's) Setup moves (like Spikes, Sticky Web, Tailwind, Screens, etc) Hell, my idea for a generation about this was even time themed, with the "evil" team (who either attempts stagnant traditionalism or soulless and polluting industrialism) recruiting the player's friend/rival. About the only idea I hadn't implemented was branched evolution starters, and even then, I'd have liked to see that done with Samurott and Primarina.
I would have loved it if the third game with Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee was Let's Go Meowth where Giovanni gives you your Starter pokemon for your adventures, working your way up the Team Rocket hierarchy.
To further your point on gyms, I want to see them enforce Pokémon limits. At least in harder gyms. I’m tired of going to the 5th gym and they have a team of only 3 Pokémon against my 6. Even if their Pokémon are strong odds are with my team of 6 I’ll still win easy. I think gym battles should make the player and the leader use the same number of Pokémon like in The anime.
8:40 We got Raihan with multiple typings. He is a dragon user but he uses weather abilities plus has ground and rock types (Sandaconda & Gigalith) Which threw some people off since they were going to counter with ice and still would be effective but in return rock type moves would be effective against the ice types. So it kinda already happened.
I always thought Gyms should be fought in a tournament setting like you fight trainers back to back and after a few trainers you get to fight the gym leader. You should also be able to rechallenge each gym with a level cap on each until you beat the E4
The professor thing happened in pokemon brick Bronze and it's one of the best things to come out of that game. Brick Bronze was also notoriously hard, and lots of people loved it
