I have two hides and substrate deep enough for him to burrow, but my toad seems to like chilling out in the open

All the female toads I have ever kept are very appreciative of more open space because they are not as nimble as the smaller males.

I recently rescued a baby toad from work. It has taken small crickets very readily after a while. I am curious, do you have to treat for parasites at all since it's a wild specimen? Thanks in advance!

Hello, Yes, you need to treat for parasites. You will also want to try and feed a variety of insects like in the video. I highly recommend the Mazuri better bug gutload to feed your crickets and feeders first before the toad.

I have a 3 - 5 year old Female American toad she shares a same tank with 2 other female toads, I’ve had her since 2021 and recently the past 2 - 3 days I noticed she hadn’t moved a lot barely any energy she had her legs spread out she also lay pretty much on her belly I know she wasn’t dead because I seen her eyes and she was breathing, she also wasn’t eating to much, I looked this up and best I can think of is Bloated stomach, if this is a bloated stomach dose it just go away on its own? I am very concerned because she’s like my kid and I don’t want anything to happen to her

Females are usually not vocal, have a white throat, and are larger.

In nature my toads eat with my cats. They get really large eating cat food.

I hope you mean the cats eat cat food and the toads eat insects because the cat food will eventually kill any frog or toad. They aren’t made to eat anything except invertebrates.
