A variety of problems can occur when installing a video security system. Check this video and see what are the 5 most common problems you might come across and avoid them at the very beginning.
*I have had the **Newest.Technology** system since they were initially released (over 2 years). I love the ease of use and they work well. Batteries last a long time too. I have added cameras as needed. I love the 2 way communication with this one.*
We’ve only had the cameras up and running for a short time. ru-vid.comUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe So far we love them! I got the outdoor mounting kit for them and they were easy to install. Once you download the app, it walks you through the very easy set up. The clarity, and range is awesome. I am thinking seriously about adding another camera or two to my 3 camera system. The price is lower than a lot of comparable systems.
- 5 Common Mistakes When Installing Video Security System: * Infrared beams of cameras are blocked (like walls, glass, other light source) * Forgetting to remove the protective film * wastes of field of view * ignoring distance limits of wires * Forgetting of waterproof the cables
Unless specifically required, just use turrets/bullets and not domes. IR reflection/spider webs frome domes is probably the most common issue in this industry.
Turret cameras tend to work the best overall. You get a good field of view while still being able to zoom in on details with good clarity. The turret cameras are sturdy and easy to install. They have indoor and outdoor turret cameras to fit the specific needs. Dome cameras are great and have the biggest field of view of all 3 camera styles, and bullet cameras can zoom in with great clarity and depth.
I disagree about the wrapping the waterproof connectors with tape after they are connected, the tape will eventually loosen up due to weather, and the bottom part of the tape when wrapped around the connecter..... acts like a cup, holding a tiny bit of water, if this is in a pole or somewhere it cant evaporate, it can hold water up against the waterproof connector for longer periods of time than you would like ;) The waterproof connectors are sufficient for use as they come out of the bag. And you dont want it lookin like it was connected by a bunch of yahoos. Also, when screwing in your torque bit t-20 security screws... (1:27)...do keep the driver bit inside the screw head, this prevents stripping the screw out, (this part of the video is another perfect example of poor technique). Also, if you absolutely must tape it (which you shouldnt) do a much better job than in this video (such as at 4:42). This tape job is a great example of what not to do, when wrapping with electrical tape you should do it tightly, and evenly, to prevent leakage and loosening. Very poor job in this video. The poor job is probobly due to the crappy gloves.... Also: Do not ever wear gloves like this when working with low voltage connections and RJ45's, (at 4:40 and on) pieces of cotton can get stuck in the connectors and make it not connect right. You will look silly and these gloves look like a whole sheep was slaughtered and they are knitted poorly, the sweat shop in which they were made should be ashamed for inferior craftsmanship. SMH...the gloves.... These camera mistakes shoudnt even be listed in order of importance. How about mentioning that there is a limit to the data-flow depending on which model NVR you select and you must ocassionally adjust the bitrate? Or adjusting the framerates for better overall performance? Checking the DNS. IP Addressing. Or the fact that your descriptions are misleading sometimes and must be decoded with a quantum computer. Or the fact that selecting hikvision in the first place is a common mistake because its blacklisted in the United States for possibly SPYING ON THE END USERS whom the INTEGRATORS INSTALL FOR. Or the fact that shenzen shanghai fengshui all the companies steal each others interfaces and all cameras that come from that area have the exact same web interfaces and it can get confusing sometimes, or perhaps....why this is ;) just sayin. You have failed HIKVISION, once again. Your tactics are inferior. Your philosophy....generic......your technology, unimpressive..........and your videos.........good lord. And this is hikvision CORPORATE channel? DR EVIL VOICE: *"rrrrriiiiiiiiggggghhhhhh-t......."* :P
Hello, Zac. Yours is the first comment here, and I'm glad I found it straight away after watching this video. To my practical mind, you make a lot of sense and have given some good sound advice. I had two Hik cameras fitted in mid-July this year (2021) with a DVR, and had a bad time with the installation company for the following three months, calling them back time and time again, until they finally refitted the whole lot with the correct cable (the first fitting was inferior cable). I'm 70, live alone, and have always been a very practical and DIY sort of woman. I've lived in this small block of four flats for over 14 years without any problems but, two years ago, the landlord rented the flat above me to a couple who are drug users and well-known criminals by the police (UK). Although I'm 5'10" and reasonably fit, I've had to have CCTV fitted here for my own safety, as well as being able to record proof of the hell I've been going through. I've never had CCTV before, nor am I technically-minded. However, having taught myself how to use the internet since 2013, and with previously basic PC skills, learning how to use my CCTV hasn't been difficult. I'd like to ask you a question, if I may, although I don't expect you to get back to me if you don't want to..... ........ I had a small surplus DELL monitor available, so had it attached to the DVR, then had a wired connection from the DVR attached to my PC so that I could store sections of video when required (I still haven't managed to find out how to do that yet 🥴). The first thing I noticed on my PC was the HTTP prefix (instead of HTTPS) and my PC warns me that it's an unsafe site. Also, my virus protection programme (Malwarebytes) didn't like it, either, so I've had to override both of those to be able to use it on my PC. I feel very vulnerable and exposed because of this. Is there any way that I could possibly safeguard my PC, or change the programme to HTTPS??? Like I've said, there's no need to get back to me if it doesn't suit you, or if you don't know the answer to my query. I wish you well for 2022, wherever you are. Many thanks for reading this 😉😊Peace⚖
I like using heat shrink tube rather than using the waterproof electrical tape. Heat shrink tube has worked amazing for me. I will sometimes wrap waterproof electrical tape over it after I have the heat shrink tube on there.
Thanx most of these points are common things all technical guys should know. The one i never thought of was the infra-red bounce back... And this can be a big issue.
All I have to say is that if you made the mistake during installation for Nos. 5, 4 & 3 from the beginning of the video, then you should not be a CCTV Installer 🤦🏻♀️
What I'd like to know is, how the heck do you get the big 'waterproofing' ring over the connector which goes into that big tube? I'm asking as I have the same type of setup with a SWANN CCTV system and have no idea how to get it on the cable?
I would slap any technician that waterproofed anything like that 😂 also never heard anyone say “Zero ring” before... it’s “O ring” ffs... But great tips for beginners!
Your design of connectors are so poor that a Ubiquiti or Canon or Sony or any other brand designed a connector INSIDE the housing. Why do you have a ponytails of wires hanging out of your camera's? Where do you leave those when mounting this cams? I prefer a good design instead of poor craftmanship for the cheaps...
Never underestimate people...my neighbor asked me if I’d “fix” the coating on her new refrigerator. It was the protective film, which I simply removed. “Oh that looks so much better” she said. They had lived with it like that for nearly 3 weeks, and were going to return it because the “finish was peeling”. Can’t even make this stuff up....
Ohhh na-ahhh there are some peoples who really forgots to remove the protective films... When im using my face shield i thought it was damage or used because its too blurry but when i saw that it was peeling... I thought to myself... I am so stupid 😂😂😂 i forgot to take off the protective films 😑
@@nagarayapemanadaa190 I also have forgotten the film, but only once... on a PTZ, on a 12 foot pole mounted another 40 feet in the air. Havent missed one since...
The decoding resource is reached. You need to activate the second stream for live streaming. Or just check live view config of VGA output. Every channel has to be empty at the second local monitor output.
6) Dont use the included security screw tool. Buy one from the store with a proper handle. It will save your fingers and wrist alot of pain. Those security tool ends have ended up broken off in the screw head, very cheaply made regardless of brand.
Waterproof the connection, that was my mistake as a d.i.y home system installer , connections failed, so i taught myself to rj45 plug install with a male to male connector , then when it tested as working again- i Waterproofs taped the connections .. been fine since then . Love hikvision stuff ❤
I set mine up and it stopped working after i waterblasrer too close. Duh. I managed to get to work a long time later. But a couple of weeks ago I wanted to remove some dirt on the lense left over from the water blasting. I realised I bumped it out of focus. The camera is downstairs and my monitor is upstairs. I will have to remove the camera to refocus it. Sigh. I'm using discarded gear so its half broken and unreliable anyway.
That is going to depend on whether you want a varifocal (motorized) lens or just wanting to use the cameras zoom in function. The Colorvu cameras are great, displaying image in full color at night. Outstanding quality on the Colorvu cameras.
Lmfao you lost me at number 2. SERIOUSLY!? You even including this is a joke and putting it at number 2? lololol is that really the second BIGGEST MISTAKE? For sure would ruin the whole install, not like they could just take 2 seconds and peel it off. Then that tape job! Such a pathetic video coming directly from Hikvision no less! I thought highly of you guys before seeing this video ( tho just from word of mouth ). This video speaks volumes
5 shitty mistakes from Hikvision design: 1. On bullet cameras. thread is stripping on adjusting arm(thin aloy material). 2.Thin cables from UTP connector to mainboard (if using POE because low quality copper connector is start to boil). 3.Protective glass peels off due to poor quality adhesive and moisture enters between lenses and glass. 4. POE switch can not be in Ring on fiber optics, also only v1 firmware? SADP can't find your own device 5.. leave others to continue....
Negative, for insurance purposes its better to see what happens, what gets broken, who breaks it, in the event they ever get caught it helps with the insurance companies being able to see everything done. Also cameras serve a dual purpose, just like the alarm with security they help keep bad guys away, but in the event something happens, an emergency, property damage, etc.......the insurance companies sometimes wont pay up without seeing contact being made. The camera just being present on a building also sometimes serves as a deterrent. Time to go to the next parking garage you know, (the one without cameras) Put your camera system on a battery backup. If you misplace your keys or your phone, you can always check the footage. Alarm system cant do that. You can also tie camera system into an alarm panel and have it where if a LINE gets crossed on the screen and motion is detected in the ROI......it will trigger the relay and set off the alarm. This can be set up on schedules just like the alarm system. The possiblities are endless ;) They break in, alarm goes off, they steal stuff. Its better to have footage of exactly what was done, what was stolen, who did it, how many people there were, nationality, clothing, build......and if you placed your cameras right...... Their license plates ;) that is if they arent using paper plates. Criminals in organized crime strike multiple locations, if more than 2 of them have cameras they can start to piece together more information. Cameras are ALWAYS a good idea, EVERYWHERE. Keeping honest people honest. ;p
To solve all these issues you can use a better brand. Poor design on cable management and warranty voided their suggestion is to replace the camera, best is to replace it with a better brand.
CCtv is part of elictrical qualifation some of the basic installation it can learn anybody but electricity is dengerous so you mass learn also the electrical principle or PPA
It's probably they use your office wifi search anything related to that product. That's why. Try turn off do not track feature on your browser might help... BTW hikvision is partnered with ccp for sure. Better stop using it pal
hey guys any idea on how to install cctv cams for long distances over say 1km. Do I have to use repeaters for each 100m ? if I opt to use fibre, how do I use one fibre link to carry signals for multiple cameras which would be terminated on different poles. is this possible ? just thinking out loud.
