Came here as a Megadeth fan and realized i can already play all these songs. You should add the skull beneath the skin to the list. that one is giving me more trouble than holy wars did. The insanely fast use of ghost notes really challenges your sense of rhythm. 62 out of 128 bars of the song are straight face melting shredding as well, so its a good song to learn if you’re looking for a challenge.

Thank YOU for watching! :-) Just a heads-up, the special discount and bonuses for Steve’s brand new course Music Theory Made Easy 2.0 got extended by a day. So you can still get this awesome new course with all the bonuses. Go here for details → guitarzoom.com/musictheorymadeeasy20/promo/ Whether you’re just starting out or if you’ve been playing for years, learning music theory can take your playing to the next level. Because you won’t just memorize some chords, or play a scale over and over a hundred times. When you learn music theory, you’ll discover how scales actually work. How scales generate chords. Why some chords sound good together and others don’t. And which notes to play to create the sound you want with your solo. Which means, you’ll truly start to understand how music works. So you can take your guitar playing as well as your songwriting to a whole new level. But the special discount and brand-new bonus courses disappear tonight. Here’s just a few of the bonus courses you get when you order now: ☑️ NEW! Fast Action Bonus #1: Steve Stine Live Lesson Library Vol 1 ☑️ NEW! Fast Action Bonus #2: Unlocking the CAGED System ☑️ NEW! Fast Action Bonus #3: Exotic Guitar Scales ...and more. Click the link for details, and no matter what, keep playing! :-) -- Mike from GuitarZoom

Epic choice of riffage Steve!I so wish you went on to include the next riff in Hangar 18, cause it smokes!I've never been able to choose between Holy Wars and Hangar 18 as my fav Megadeth song. Rust In Peace is the undisputed king of Megadeth albums though. Thrash metal at its absolute finest. Mustaine and Friedman - arguably the best one-two guitar punch in all of rock/metal. Nice work brother.

The next riff is basically the same chords but arpeggiated rather than strummed. It's a bit tricky, because you're quickly switching between chords in the first pattern and chords in the second pattern. So, if you think about the part he showed you, it has 8 chords and number them in order, 1-8. For the next part, argeggiate chord 1, then go to chord 5, then arpeggiate going up instead of down across the strings and add open D. Then the same concept for the next 3 movements, 2 then 6, 3 then 7, 4 then 8.

This first one is really good it seems easy enough although it’s quite fast and I’ve been working on my up-and-down picking I’m only just driving down getting used to the pic and palming and just using two fingers instead of three so I’ve got that extra to mute and to give me control on the body for the EB and G but I think it’s perfect to practice my ultimate picking up and down instead of just down anyhow I’ll have fun and keep trying and like everything practised enough and you’ll get there thanks for the hot tips

I'm an old school, learn by ear player, from the 80's & 90's. Now that we have the means to learn from so many sources, it's a bit overwhelming sometimes finding out how many different songs I've been playing wrong for 20+ years. Thanks for all of your help Steve!
@stinemusiclessons
@stinemusiclessons 6 лет назад
I don't worry much about "right" or "wrong" as often, it's just a perspective. Not always, but back in the day, when we all learned by ear, I am sure most things were "wrong" but we always had a blast playing the music we loved with bands we had a blast with :-)

Man. Learning guitar in the 80's-90's primarily through tabs and the occasional cassette tape that had riffs painstakingly verbalized note for note was way different from how it is now. RU-vid changed everything! I'm psyched people have this to learn from now!

Request: Morigan from Children of Bodom (Drop B). I brought 1 of my guitar to a Luther & asked him to install thicker strings and intonate it in Drop B to experiment, but it feels/sounds really awkward from std E, so if you have a little bit of extra time, I'd like a kick-start tutorial with that weird tuning. Haha!! Thanks for that Megadeth one. It's rad! You make it look easy.

Yeah text a lot of visualiser and to learn how to play each night or cord but hangar 18 I think easy enough it’s hard for me but I think once I learn the chords and get my fingers used to the placement it will flow no problem that will take me awhile though because it’s not just using the chords it’s getting the thumb at the back comfortable the flow I’m actually getting those fingers to make the cord practice for my perfect take some time
