I could hear Leo sayin "This is my new favorite stick" in my head. I have played Stardew Valley quite a bit, just not a fan of the being nice to the towns people. Okami is one I wouldn't mind playing at some point because of how great it looks.

He loves his sticks! I'm really curious about how something like Rune Factory will compare to Stardew Valley. My favourite part was the combat, so maybe that game's a fit? Or Fantasy Life? I can see you enjoying Okami's slower, "story-like" pace.

Man 30 hour for Okami - I want to replay it but damn. Time and place, maybe spring is that time! I’d be most privy to play Pikmin. I got close to beating the first one but I died twice on the last mission - restarting it was a bit of a chore, and now I’ve forgotten most of the gameplay mechanics lol. Who knows? Might be worth a retry on my save file.

It looks like we're gonna be cooped up indoors a while longer! You more or less get the same weather as us--we're in the negatives again next week! 😱 Hot chocolate and long games are still on the agenda. Okami's got at least one other game in the series that might be worth looking into. The one that I'm thinking of is on DS. If you do replay Pikmin, let me know! That'd be fun to follow along with.

Some nice selections, I still need to play Okami and I’ve never played Equlinox but I’m at least familiar with the rest. Some spring games for me include Animal Crossing, Tears of the Kingdom and most Atelier games.

1:50 You perfectly described my experience with Witcher 3, congratulations! Pikmin sounds like hell for me. Micromanagement is the opposite of fun for me. The more I hear about Pikmin, the less I want to play it, you did a fantastic job at putting me off from playing it, well done. Stardew Valley is a game I'd fear getting too hooked to. My personal pick for this list would be Doshin The Giant, it's a very chill game.

Every year will probably feature a farming/life sim of sorts, so if Stardew is too intimidating, there could be a more suitable game next spring. I only know Doshin as a meme game, but I wouldn't mind trying it.

Okami is one of my favorite games but yeah it's a long one, took me 50 hours to beat it but to me it was worth every minute. Pikmin is another one I really like, I only got the bad ending but it surprised me how much I enjoyed it because the RTS genre was never one I had much interest in, tried Pikmin on a whim and was blown away by how much fun and well designed it is. I'm off to a trip this spring but when I return I would like to get to Gravity Rush 2 or a Nintendo, in the mood for those. When it comes to spring I usually associate it with color and nature so I think either of those can work.

Finally, someone who really enjoyed Okami! I've been wondering where all of the big fans are given how highly the game is rated. Did you end up completing most of the optional content? Of the collections, I think I only saw every animal. For everything else - side quests, the wanted monsters, upgrades, etc. - I only had all weapons collected. Very cool. I know nothing about Gravity Rush, but I'll check that out.

@@TheLegendofLeo I think I just took my time, didn't do everything in the game but it was a fun ride. I like it more than some Zelda games so it should say how much I liked it :D I agree it feels a little too long and I almost feel like the devs had to extend the game to the length they did because at the time that's what people wanted, longer fuller game. The original Gravity Rush is good but I wasn't crazy about it, I got the second game last year and haven't had the chance to play it so I finally want to get to it because I heard a lot of great things about it.

@@thepositiver9977 people who can take their time with the game will definitely enjoy it the most. I’m thinking back to how I kept entering battles relatively early in the game, because I wanted to test all of my weapon combos and see all of the incredible enemy designs. There’s a lot to appreciate about the game!

Okami took me even longer than you did to finish. I think I was at 50 hours. I liked it but it was very slow to start. It never did hook me as much as I thought it would. It had so much dialogue. I think the up and down description you mentioned is a good description. Pikmin was the most stressful game I ever played. I got to the end and my ship took off and it exploded. The time management aspect is just not something I enjoy. Not for me, but hey I gave it a shot and yeah it is good spring game. I never even heard of Equilinox. I kind of dig the simple polygon look. Also Spring will be here before you know it and it can't arrive soon enough.

Hahahaha, I couldn't help but laugh when I read that about your ship exploding. Sorry man. Just picturing that is too funny, but I can imagine how frustrating it must have been. Apparently Pikmin 1 is the only game with severe time constraints. Maybe you can jump into 3 or 4...? The first week of spring here has negative temperatures! I'm ready to bunker down for another week of gaming.

@@TheLegendofLeoIt's ok, as far as I am concerned that is the way Pikmin 1 ends. Not all games have to end happily. :) I did play through Pikmin 3. It still has the time limit. I liked it more, but it still felt like to much stress and work to me. I don't like rushing to finish something in such a small window of time. I do that at work. I don't want it in a game I am playing. Hopefully it warms up for you and you and Leo can enjoy nicer warmer weather.

as much as i love Bug fables. the side quests in that game sorta felt like the turnup game where you just go back and forth randomly and its tedious. but dont let that turn you off from the game because the main game itself is great i just never bothered doing the side content because i was not having fun with it when i tried them. but i also just dislike most side quests unless they do something funny or interesting and dont waste your time too much which is hard for most games to do for me. Okami id like to play and give a proper play sometime. from what i played before it was really cool but way too many cutscenes at the start.

Good to hear about Bug Fables. I've owned the game for a while but probably won't play it until I'm done with all Paper Mario games. I don't think that Garden Story would be for you then! Okami is a tough one. If you already felt that it was slow, then... I dunno. The more that I think about it, the harder it is to recommend to people. Maybe you can play it in segments (since the game is comprised of three arcs, each around 10 hours long).
