Firstly, congrats on 50 subscribers to Snow, and thank you for putting this generous giveaway together!
For anyone who doesn't know, Snow is a blackbelt in the online reddit community for lockpickers. He has a bunch of really great videos where he talks the viewer through the process of how he picks some very challenging locks (which he makes look easy). He's always around helping people out and really deserves all the support he gets, so go check him out!
Ok, so about this lock, I got it about a week ago and have been struggling with it pretty hard until tonight. Thought it may be valuable to some to see my approach and may even help some others get the open that they have been struggling with too!

Man that’s an impressive keyway. Do ya know what it’s called? Or model of lock that abus is? 👏👏😎

I'm not sure what the exact name of the keyway is, but I know it's the euro spec version. From what I have seen there are 3 keyways for the Abus 72/40, one that is wide open and spells "ABUS", and another that is even more restrictive than the one from my video. Thanks for watching buddy!

I don't understand how it comes so easily for some people. You say this lock really gave you trouble for a couple days... I've worked on the 72/40 practically every day for months now. Same keyway too. Good grief...

You could also just have a very hard lock, but also I've been putting in at least 10 hours a day since I started. I watch countless videos and have read tons of material that has helped me progress. Also I've gotten tons of advice from others, much more experienced then me, in the lockpicking community that has been invaluable to my progress. I know it can feel discouraging at times, and believe it or not, I feel that same feeling every day with one lock or another. But let that motivate you! I would love to help you figure out your abus 72/40! I bet it's just a few things that you can adjust and it will open consistently for you every time! Here is another video I did on this lock, hopefully it will help you out. @@IsaacHashman You practice picking for 10 hours a day? Do you have a job? I mean, I've spent tons of time watching tutorials and looking at diagrams. But I might pick an hour a day at most.

@@thebrokedad858 I do have a job haha, that's the thing about lock picking, there is always an opportunity to work on this hobby. Also I'm interested in working as a locksmith in the future and have been in touch with a local LS about apprenticeship. So all this time/experience has been very helpful in me moving forward with that. Thirdly, I've gone through some health issues lately that gave me extra time to work on locksport. Not to mention that one of the reasons I got into locksport is because of not having as much to do during these crazy covid times.
