Hi i have HP 950c and looks very similar than your printer the real question is.. Your printer is Plug and Play? and if is possible to use a USB Converter because the printer uses a Serial Parallel 25-pin cable, thanks i hope you see my comment
For refilling the hp45 I push in the ball with a big 50mm blunt plastic seringe. I then place a small square of DIALL ALUMINIUM ADHESIVE TAPE about 6mmx6mm over the hole to plug it. I then apply a blob of GORILLA CLEAR GLUE over the square to the edges of the cartridge width and roughly same length and let it dry overnight. I then put a sharp hypodermic needle on the end of my 50ml seringe and gently puncture through the gorilla clear glue, through the aluminium tape about 3-4mm and slowly, gently, push down and fill the bag. It keeps such a tight seal around the needle it pushes out all the air and even has enough seal pressure to push out all air, all blockages and until pure dye ink comes out. The foamy bubbles give way to pure ink. I then give it 30 seconds and then pull back on siringe about 1ml to relive any pressure. I then wipe with blue roll and clean cartridge. It does not leak from siringe hole as GORILLA CLEAR GLUE seals itself. I then put a blob of GORILLA CLEAR GLUE over the existing glue and leave overnight. Once cartridge is empty, to refill just push hyperdermic into it and push down on the 50ml. Blob of glue, leave overnight and repeat. So fast! No blocks. No air. I hope this helps as it saves me loads of time. You could do a bank of cartridges in 10 minutes!
Hi!, this has been very very good video, Im using a handheld printer for industrial barcode printing (HP 45 / TiJ 2.5 Cartridge) . The handheld printer only has pins for the electronic ribbon, do not read any chip. But i read this from your site: " These cartridges don't have ink monitors and can print forever. However, if you have a cartridge that's been re-branded, which means a 3rd party chip is glued to the cartridge, it usually can't be refilled. The 3rd party chip will prevent you from refilling the cartridge." --- how are those chips? and , if i take them out it will let me refill the cartridge once again?. Can you make a video about those cartridge. I was trying to refill those HP45 not using the clamp, and when i put on the printer, it start printing and after 10 printing, it goes half the height of the print, until it stop sending ink, but the printing is still running.
I am from India I contacted all recycling facilities and many doesn't give any catridges even if they have tons so they can export,some charges equivalent price to new catridges. I can't get an used single used catridges for reasonable price in an nation with worlds largest population. People want to buy and export to china for huge sums.
I have two hp DESKJET 990CXI printers and they have been absolute work horses. One I got off eBay that had been in a garage for 10 years and snails had made a nest in it. Cleaned them out and it worked! I bought dye ink and refilled the black hp45 bag cartridge. It seems to print ok for a while and then leaks at the print head. It is the 3rd time it has been refilled and was very careful and even used the same ink from same refill bottle. I just can't seem to stop it dribbling. It has done this to two cartridges now. Any advice is welcome. Could water in the cartridge cause problems if you dont get every drop out?

How does the sensor work if any, for when ink gets low on these 45 and 78 cartridges? Sometimes they print for ages with no ink - especially the colour one. Or is it coincidence and the ink flashing warning light is actually for some other fault that just coincidentally happens around the same time? I rarely leave a cartridge more than a few pages/24 hours without ink in them so it's rare.
@@BCHTechnologies Turns out it's the viscosity of the ink. It has denatured over time and has separated. Whole batch has to go in the bin. Too thin and it pours out the end regardless of seal. Dye type ink does NOT like being stored too long is the conclusion.
It is a HP DESKJET 970CSI OR 990CSI. It is the Thor's Hammer of printers. From a time before InstantInk and weak 2ml cartridges that lock to printers preventing refills and filling landfill. You will never see the fraud Greta Thumbturd protesting the HP factory who are a huge offender. Also for the millions, yes millions of HP Envy printers that ended up at the dump due to that cartridge scam. The HP DESKJET 900 series of any type are legendary. I have two. One I found in a garage that hadnt been used in over 10 years and stored in damp minus 10degC temp and had a snail's nest living in it. All in the cartridge rest bay. Cleaned them all out. Put a sheet in. Power on and it even printed!!! The black cartridge had survived! Not brilliant but it worked well enough for draft documents!! Chuck Norris owns one if these.
Sir I'm considering refill this HP45 cartridge with UV black ink in order to cure the print with UV led light. Do you know if the UV black ink will work properly on this cartridge? thanks
I don't think so but please try it and let us know. I think the UV ink's flash point is too low to be used in HP cartridges so you would need an Epson or Lexmark. However, 45 cartridge/printhead is relatively cheap, so go ahead and take one for the team.
