this is my first voice over attempt on a video, I really hope it helps, 🙏 please comment, like, and subscribe!!! thanks for your support and I can't wait to hear if these tips were applied to see if your lap times improve! happy racing!
Hell ya! Man, I love to hear about progress, I was out there this morning, and always feel free to come up and ask anything if you see me! Congrats on the 81s! That's amazing! Keep rippin' thanks for watching hope you subscribe, I will have another tip video coming this summer, I'm shooting for 76s this year! 79s would be a goal you should set ! Happy racing 🏁
Great meeting you a couple weeks ago! I finally got my first 80 the other day. I have not been leaning out in the turns, so going to try to incorporate this next time.
Nice video, suprised I haven't seen it yet. I agree with pretty much everything other than clipping the curb unless its wet. More often than not I tend to lose time.
How's it going? I know of you, don't think we've met somehow. Lol you haul ass! Unfortunately, the tips I give or the line I run is for me at 210lbs. As you know, we try and adjust cause every kart is a little different! I do agree with you, when I went 77.478, I didn't clip as many curbs, but I've also done it clipping curbs, I hope you subscribe to the channel, and hope we meet this summer , I will be knocking the rust off in the endurance on May 11th, which I wasn't 210lbs, but im just trying to have fun with you guys! See ya soon
@@munschracing46 Going pretty good. I usually don't do any arrive and drives as it's an hour away so I stick mostly to league racing. I'll try and make it out to more during the summer. Thats 100% true about the karts. Today was a little hit or miss on cornering ability. If I have another endurance race available ill come out to the one in may too and we can race. I'm not far behind at 200lbs so it should be a good one.
Thanks for the tips. Tried karting for the first time ever at PGP a few weeks back. 2 sessions, best time was 88s. Hooked and looking for tips for next time!
First time under 90! That's money! Feel free to come up and ask me any questions if you see me out there ! Happy to help everyone go fast! Hope you subscribe to the channel! Thanks for watching and commenting! Love to hear feedback
Useful tips, thank you. My best time is 82.580. Hopefully your tips will help to make progress next time I'm there. ps: Video ended at very interesting moment, haha
My lap that race was 78.051, David and Stephen were 77.9s and Brian freeman was 78.3, I truly hope these tips help, and always feel free to ask me any question at the track! Hope you subscribe, and thanks for watching and commenting! Happy racing
Yes if you go through my videos I do have a foot camera angle , and the video starts going past the flag stand, I need to make another one with the GPS on so that I can do a split screen, hope you subscribe to the channel I will make that video this next month sometime, the answer is yes ( depending on kart) I just brush it in 2 turns just to set the kart into the turn
Thank you for a fresh dose of useful techniques! My best lap is 80.8s. I am planning to utilize these techniques in my next race. One question: do I still need to lean out if I am 160 lbs?
Glad you enjoyed it, the answer to your question is YES! Another thing is seat position, I will often adjust 1 click during a race, if the kart is pushing through turns. Move it forward! Start your next race with seat as far forward as you can! I start all the way forward and then adjust pedals for comfort
You are wanting weight over the outside tires for bite (grip) and also 80.8, your gonna want to start looking into a rib protector once you crack that 79 barrier 😂
Definitely want to lean out! And move your seat up all the way forward then adjust pedals so your comfortable! Let me know if you have any other questions , my advice might not be perfect for everyone, but it should help, I went 77.4 last week at 206lbs! Happy racing!!!!
Nice, think you can make one for wet? Tried it out yesterday but it was my first time at PGP. So I was still trying to test out the track and karts. It just wouldn’t turn unless i give it some gas.
Welcome to the pgp family! So the wet line is just around the outside of the track instead of being right on the curb, in the wet you want to avoid where there is rubber built up (aka dry race line) feel free to come ask me any questions in person if you see me out there , glad to help! Hopefully you subscribe, and I will try and get a "damp line" video, I try and avoid pouring rain race days, cause it's miserable haha
@@munschracing46 thanks! I’ll sub right now! And that makes so much sense. I was wondering why the wet line is on the outside. But i did realize I had way more grip on the outside (or when i accelerate).
I'm curious what your lap times are? Cause I am the fastest pound for pound person at PGP! the reason I do a controlled slide on certain turns is because I am 211lbs, and to run a 77.4 like me and be in the top ten of the top 25 board, I am driving into the turns wide open because when your heavy I have to keep the rpm up, a little loose is fast! Would still like to know your weight and personal best lap time? Thanks comment and view
still new to pgp have driven here a couple times and am currently at an 81.7, will laptime come the more experienced I get and the smoother I execute my race lines or do I need to make big gains
Once you get smooth and consistant, you will develop good habits and racecraft, small gains and just keep chipping away at it, helmet time is key, I have almost 400 races out there if that helps you understand, 81.7 is solid for being new there 👍, do an endurance race so you can run 90 min. It's reverse but again , your just trying to learn kart characteristics
