[Four short summaries to go to 79 second lap time.]
First, turn the corner while watching APEX.
Second, reducing Lap time is not an 'accelerator pedal'.
It's a 'brake pedal'.
Third, run to the limit just before the cornering section.
Last thing is the best Lap comes from the 6th - 8th Lap.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are a lot of important tips in the beginning of this video,
so it's better to watch from the beginning to '01:52' and skip them.
My best Lap was the 7th Lap.
79.492. (Not that I'm fast...!)
I just want to help people who haven't reached 79 seconds Lap yet.
There was no detailed explanation video for beginners.
I made it because I was frustrated... :(
The 7th Lap of this video clip is '08:38.'
so if you want to check it out quickly, see you there... :)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My name is 'EunHwan'.
I am an ordinary Korean man... :)
I had no experience with go kart.
If you see me at PGP, please say hello to me!
I hope this video helps you even a little bit.
Don't forget to press "like" and leave! LOL :)
Thank you for watching until the end.
I'll be waiting for you to join the 79 second Lap club as soon as possible.

Nice run! You should join the gang for the Saturday morning league races. Its a lot more fun to put in 79's with 20 other cars at the same skill level :)

Thank you! I will try. I know time trial and race is totally different stuff...

another great point dude, the skill level in arrive and rive is hit or miss. u either get fast guys or people who have never been karting before lol. i wanna go into league racing that would be fun. or even endurance racing, my brother and i go karting all the time there and i feel like it would be fun. 90 minutes of nonstop action

and its not like we are super slow, i get low to mid 80's almost every lap sometimes touching 79, if im lucky and he get like 82's now but i know a little more about racing then him but he just needs to learn the proper etiquette and ways to communicate what ur intentions are such as pitting, waving somebody by, etc

Good job on the time. Any sub 80s time is a good time. The 79s or below call out relative to the most competitive Saturday morning league ("pro") is supposed to mean with minimum race weight of 190lbs (or at least that's what it used to be) since that is what we ballast up to on race mornings. The karts aren't very powerful so even 10/20 lbs of weight difference can severely affect times. That's what makes it hard to really compare times on RU-vid since very few ever put if they were at minimum race weight or not.

Thanks for posting your speed tricks. I'm in the 190 lb range and have broken into the 79's a couple of times. I enjoy watching other drivers' videos to see how they do it.

@@pgplab992 a lot of them are younger kids if im not mistaken, like they are a lot lighter so they get faster times

@@gavin19613 Ya, for the arrive-n-drive crowd you get all ages, weights and experience levels. For league races, everyone has to add weights if they are below the minimum. That equalizes the playing field more.

You went off track in the first lap because you missed the apex in turn one, not because your tires where “cold”

So if you are considers a pro when u can do a 79 then what am I considered because I have done a 77.2

I clearly mentioned "Not that I'm fast" at the beginning of this video. And I've never referred to myself as a "professional." This video is for those who want to go to 79 seconds. I looked up various videos related to PGP, but I had a hard time because there was no video mentioning the timing of the break. That's why I made this video. You are a very fast driver with 77.2 seconds. But so what...?

@@user-gc4zu8fk7p Next time add some lead weight from the cargo container onsite to ensure you are 190 pounds or greater - we all ballast to that minimum weight for competition. If you can still get ~79s, you are very good indeed. In competition, we take different lines around the track so getting ~79s is typically only done by the 1st & 2nd place drivers who don't have too much traffic. Other drivers are 80-81s typically. 78s is very rare in competition.

@@phatvw1 the top 10 today were all mostly at 79-78 today. So I don't think your statement stands. On average I see the top 10 between 80-78. With most being high 79s. Average lap times for top 3 we're at 78s. But yes past top 10 it's 80 or higher
@codgispecmotorsports2860

@@dhruvb38: Looking at phatvw1's channel then he's been racing in the leagues at this track for over a decade. Just like me. Pre the new kart setup/re-pave a low 79 was going to be a winning time when weighted up at competition levels even in Pro. With the new re-pave and karts the times have shifted down to what you are seeing now where a sub 79 is what is needed to win. Yesterday I ran a 79.555 after 2 years away and 40lbs over minimum race weight as proof of that. That's literally a few 10s off my best time ever with the old karts, about 30lbs over minimum race weight, in form, and pre re-pave.
@dhruvb38
@dhruvb38 Год назад
@@codgispecmotorsports2860 I do know now that high 77s is possible in the new karts too given optimal conditions. And yes, the old karts were about a second faster (Colin/Scott) from that Scott told me iirc
