I recently did a video on Text on Text and tried to make it easier than whats currently out there. I shaved off a few steps but then I took it one step further and I feel I have come up with the easiest way I have seen.
What i liked about your video is it was short, sweet and to the point! Do this, do this and do this...There are so many videos out there where the presenter just drones on and it turns into an hour video when it's not necessary. I subscribed because i like your format. Keep it up.
To speed up the milling, you could even use two bit sizes. A big one to mill te large areas and a small bit for the details/outlines of the text. Mill layer 1 en 2 with the large mill and after that mill layer 1 and 2 with the smaller bit. Only need to change the bit once.
You are correct. I thought I mentioned that. I used a 1/4" end mill and a 1/8" in the actual milling. The cut time was just a little over an hour. If you only use a 1/8" you would be looking at about 4 hours.
Thanks the only thing I had to do was to manually select the vectors I couldn't use the vector selection because it wanted th select just the word and cut that out. Now I'm using Aspire 9.514 could be a flaw in this version, have not upgraded yet
Getting ready to attempt making this. Couple questions: on the second tool path you did not associate it with the toolpath? Is that needed? Hard to see but will using the 1/8" em get in all the areas on the lettering or will you need to select tapered or small ball nose? Thank you for all the time you put into this.
Huge help! Made several now. Thanks for the great easy to follow video! I would love to save the video to watch later is there a way to download it other then to get subscription from RU-vid?
To my surprise, there is not. When you look at the toolpath, it shows like it is going to aircarve all the area to the frame vector, but it knows that it has already been cut and doesn't aircarve it. I think that when we checked the boxes in the vector selector, The "Closed Vectors Box", and the "Associate With toolpath box", I think this is what keeps it from Air Cutting. When you preview the path, slow it down, and you will see it doesn't Aircarve.
@@thewoodmaster ok thanks, it just seemed to be that way from the video but I’ll have to try it. Would it be better to carve the top text first so it’s more stable? Just wondering. Again good video!
Wow!!! Awesome job in identifying a quick way to accomplish text-on-text. Your approach to delivering your information was also great. This is the first video that I've seen of yours, and I am now a SUBSCRIBER. Thanks for the information.
