Learned more in 12 minutes from you than I did in over two hours from someone else. And much more clearly explained. Thanks

Thanks Mark! At first I couldn't figure out why in the world you needed the offset but then it clicked. I would've never figured out how to do this without your video.

Good video and the written instructions are excellent. Being able to have written instructions makes it much easier to create your own sign.

Great Video! You can also merge the 2 endmill toolpath and the 2 vbit toolpaths.

Thanks...i always use straight bit when doing stacked text...but your tutorial was great and easy...worked great...i usually use inventable easel software for stacked text since its extremely simple....but wanted to learn vectric method because easel is web based which i had no internet at the time..thanks

Amazed. I just successfully completed a sign using your tutorial. My question now is when do I change bits in the carving process. I bought an Axiom machine before I retired and have never been able to use it because I worked out of town. Thanks.

One of the BEST instructional CNC videos I have seen! I do have a question about a project? Would you be willing to advise me one day? I would be happy to pay you in advance for some one on one advice?

Thank you for the video and yes, it is indeed helpful. But if I look closely to the preview, you can see that there are areas on the second layer that has not been properly milled, for example the top of the S and O, where the 1/4 mill couldn't get. I am wondering if such thing is visible on the final product.

I discovered after I did the video that when you offset the vectors, you should uncheck "create sharp offset corners". That will take care of that problem.

Great instructions! Question - I want to put a chamfered cut on the inside boarder, how do I do that? I want to put another boarder in for a profile cut, how do I do that? Lastly, I want to put a Bit Map object in the bottom layer, how do I do that?

Thanks for the tutorial. Not sure if you are still monitoring these comments but I ran into a problem. I am new to the CNC game. I setup a small test file. Everything looked great on the top text layer then when the welded text layer ran everything (text and inner border) has shifted to the right and is cutting into the top text. I looked at the text on all three layers and nothing appears to have moved. Any thoughts?

At the 7:30 mark in the video, look at the very end of the bottom tip of the 'Y' in Sally. What is causing that? I'm seeing it in multiple spots on the test I just did -- not sure if it's font related, the offset isn't quite correct, or what? I used all the same depths/bits/offsets as in the video. Excellent tutorial though. Thorough enough, yet straight to the point :)

Sorry for the VERY late reply. When you offset the vectors outwards (around 3:05 in the video), uncheck "create sharp offset corners" in the offset vectors tool.

Thanks so much! One question, whats the purpose for the offset? Is it to line up the vcarve from the top text to the bottom text? I experimented on one last night before i saw this video. The vcarves from the top text and bottom text it left a noticeable lip on the border and letters.

Can u explain the reason for the offset? Cant seem to grasp it
@markottman546
@markottman546 5 лет назад
Sorry, just seeing this. Yes, the offset is so the v-carves in the 2 layers line up. If you think about it, you have to follow the angle of the v-bit down to the bottom of the first level, then the second level v-carve will start there... so that's where the offset happens. Hope that makes sense.

Is the offset used no matter what biy u use or was it only due to vbit use
@markottman546
@markottman546 4 года назад
The offset is only for v-bit usage
@cameronmyers821
@cameronmyers821 5 лет назад
What type of 60* vbit did you use. .25 or .50
@markottman546
@markottman546 5 лет назад
Mine is a .5 but it wouldn't matter as long as the bit is set up right in Aspire.
