Nah, post facelift it looks WAY better. If anyone is going for a CLS they should go for 2015 and up.

@Ethan Hayden, it’s been great, I just finished my first year of college and I just passed 153k miles. After the whole winter all that needs to be done is a serpentine belt replacement, I need to replace a gasket in the oil filter housing, a common M112 and M113 issue, and my rear shocks are going out, which can be replaced in an afternoon. Motor and tranny are still extremely strong, I ran 145mph just last week with a friend to celebrate finals week, she’s still an absolute beast :D I still recommend a C32 to anyone who can find one, they’re only getting rarer but theyre an absolute gem

I got my 05 E55 for 10k in 2019 with 105k miles. Prices have definitely gone waaaay up! I’ve seen cars that should be 7k selling for 18k+ 😳 I don’t know about all the fun of an E55. That instant torque is crazy!! I haven’t ridden in a bi-turbo car yet. My partner has a CLS550 that I need to ride in. He doesn’t have a tune tho, so it’s not quite a far comparison. I have an 80mm pulley and tune now, with headers coming next…😳

Wow you are so lucky! We don’t have the shooting brakes in the US but I’m obsessed with them. The styling is perfect in every way. I have a 2006 CLS55 and after a year and a half of ownership I have zero complaints, but I’d trade it for a non-AMG shooting brake any day

@@slavshreds4731 Haha bad luck for you man :D.. i know its sad the Shooting Brake was never sold in US, only in Euro market if i remember correctly. It was sold new here in Sweden where i live but you dont see them very often here on the road.

I had a Cls 350 cdi , it was a money pit , I really wouldn’t , I got rid of it at 105K miles after it cost me £880 to replace a headlight from a crooked MB Indy .I won’t have another MB

@@catman2629 yeah the CLS 350 are nasty the motor is not as good they also have some know suspenssion issues.. But the CLS 500 and 63 amg are just better in all the ways that matter..

Unless someone is only shopping for a wagon, the Wagon AMG cars aren’t going to be a bargain. They’re at least twice as much as the sedan counterparts.

Gotta love our luxury car tax, import tax and GST lol. Got a few premiums, including a cla 35 amg, for an entry level amg, it cost me 113k, ridiculous

The cars you list are not really desirable. The early C class cars are meh. CLK55 is so dated and the regular non-AMG CLK550 is essentially the same car but with more hp. CLK63 is convertible only and super rare plus it’s engine has head bolt issues. SLK is kind of a chick car, sorry. W212 e63s on the other hand is very similar to a new $120k e63, but it’s 1/3 the cost. That is a bargain for a still very modern level performance.

Work on ABC suspension is not all that expensive if you do it yourself. You obviously had a problem with one of the valve blocks. Rebuild kit which consists of few O rings is around $50. Suspension oil change is fairly simple and should be done at least every 50k miles, filter in the tank should be replaced more often and it costs around $15. My CL55 was throwing red ABC warning on the dash every time I’d hit a pothole because it had a bad front accumulator. I replaced all three accumulators and flushed the system twice for around $500. All the parts I bought have lifetime warranty, even CHF11 oil (look up FCP Euro).

Not everyone is or wants to be his own mechanic. When I was a teenager in the '70s, I could rebuild my Muncie M-21 and reinstall it with a new clutch and throw-out bearing in less than five hours. And I replaced all four discs and pad sets with the help of FCP. But if I had to do it again, had I known about Tavarish's RU-vid channel, I would have replaced the ABC with conventional shocks, struts, and sway bar. Also, another issue for that car was the gas tank. The anti-slosh plates have a tendency to break loose from their spot welds, which costs another $4K to have it replaced. Yeah, cool car, but way too expensive to drive, or, in your case, way too much personal work on the car. If that's what you like, enjoy. But that's why I won't buy another Harley after the problems I had with my VRSCR Street Rod. I'd rather ride than wrench.

ABC hydraulic pump

It's a "dual pump" that provides hydraulic pressure to the suspension and steering (IIRC). if you start the car and hear a warble, then it is going to fail. A non MBZ mechanic can burn up a new one quickly if it isn't properly primed.

parted with my 12’ for a 15’ facelift 2 years ago, happy with my decision!!
