@@princessmobucks8760 You can use it before or after. I use as a treatment. I use the Aloe Vera leaf. I use the gel from it. I put it on before washing my hair. Then I use olive oil with vitamin E. I message it into my scalp. And leave it on for awhile. I have seen growth. And my hair is very moistured. It is a game changer for sure. Blessings!!!!

@selphie A lot of cultures know single motherhood. Curly Chemistry is a very beautiful, knowledgeable intelligent and well-spoken lady. I've recently found out glycerin is a humectant for tge SKIN but not the hair. Not everything works the same in all combinations. I found that out when investigating hyaluronic acid for skin, so that wasn't as biased. I believe glycerin is usually used in hair products for other reasons than moisture such as stabilizing a thickner like guar gum in a watery compound.

I bought glycerin for my hair per a suggestion. No go. However......I started applying to my feet and lower legs (dryest parts of my body) then applying Lotion afterwards and WOW! Great combination. Feet and legs STAY moisturized for at least a day.

@shinebabyshine. 8 месяцев назад
@@valeriemiles4623same! My hair is def not a fan of glycerin, but just like you I started mixing vegetable glycerin with my lotion and my legs have NEVER been softer. During the winter, I lock that moisture in with Vaseline and started using an African net sponge when I shower. My legs and feet are supple for the first time in my life!

YOU JUST PUT ME UP ON SO MUCH GAME. i pretty much saturate my hair in eco styler to wear my sade low ponytail every day, and didn't realize the glycerin was slowly "evaporating" my hair. I just knew my hair had become dryer over the years and i had lost a considerable amount of length due to tangles and knots. now im adding aloe vera gel!!

This is exactly what I wanted to know and why. I was about to start using aloe gel diluted in water as a moisturizing spritz on my daughter and I. We are high porosity and I wanted to use something more than just water. Then I heard aloe was a humectant and wanted to be sure it was ok because we live deep in the humid south. Houston! So we should be fine even when it’s not as humid (which is brief)... in the “winter”. Yeah we don’t have real winters like most others 😂

This is so important! I've looked everywhere to find glycerin-free skin care (moisturisers, in particular) because the glycerin in products really makes my oily skin very STICKY. I have always used aloe vera as a "moisturiser", which works well, but sometimes I want a little more of a "lock that moisture in" feeling. I will keep these ingredients you mentioned in mind!:) 🌹

I didn't glycerin isn't enough for keeping moisture into our hair. Good to know. Maybe because we don't have glycerin in its real form. My father had glycerine in his garden. When I was a kid he used to wash my body and my hair with it.

Aloe makes my hair hard, I think it has protein🤔 no matter how I mix it, or what time of year🙄 can you confirm that it has protein properties for me?? Thanks😘

@Shacole Harris - I don't know if it has protein, but aloe makes my hair hard as well. All the time. Even if a product just has aloe in it my hair responds that way. In addition, my hair actually loves glycerin. It's one of the few things that keeps my hair very moisturized. I've never had the issue of moisture leaving my hair and going into the air because of glycerin. In fact, my refresher spray is nothing but water and pure glycerin mixed in a spray bottle, and the products that moisturize my hair the best usually have water and glycerin as the first two ingredients. Anyway, just wanted to say you aren't alone with the aloe issue. I've stopped trying to make it work for me.

TheLotusFlower yes I totally agree, glad I’m not the only one, and I did find out that aloe does have amino acids ( proteins) but my hair also loves glycerin seems like even in the winter, long as it’s diluted and sealed with something thick like a butter or even grease, so yeah I’m with you 🤷🏾‍♀️

Aloe made my hair hard too but I finally found one aloe product that doesn't and its the Scalp Tonic Hair Gower with Biotin by Honey Vera. I also agree with the comment that the key is to seal with grease or butter as these have worked for natural hair for generations.
