I bought angled brushes over 20 years ago at Home Depot and painted my entire house without ever needing tape or edging tools. The control is amazing and you don’t need to cut up a brush to make one.

I’m gonna just gonna be nice here, I’m old school and I’ve painted off and on for years, I guess if you wanna tinker and make things to cut in lines so be it, but nothing beats a nice plain old brush to cut everything in it’s relaxing

Rather than ruining a brush you can just use masking tape when painting corners, this also gives you sharp lines. I also feel like all these take more time, effort and money than just buying the correct tools.

Не представляю себе человека, который бы ради валиков и кисточек, цена которым три копейки, будет тратить драгоценное время на их малую механизацию. Кисточка с кривым колёсиком вообще добила. Видно, как напряжена рука, чтобы удержать кисть на линии. Вообще-то, для таких целей есть малярные ленты.) Всё это не для реальной жизни, но видео залипательное)))

Чтобы кисть была многоразовой, достаточно после покраски ее промыть в ацетоне и т.п. А если нет времени и возможности, то промыть под водой и на время так же оставить в воде, после чего промыть ацетоном.

I see that by the comments here, that many of you here are Soviets. I can understand that you may need these life-hacks in The Soviet Union 2.0 where you make $200 a year or that there is one paintbrush for every 10 families but here in the U.S. we just buy a new roller (or buy a bulk pack). We save more time and spend less money than you spend over there in Putinland. Dosvidanya

I like the roll fix. I'd much rather go to the store to pick up some PVC to hack than go to the store to get a new roll

As a painter of 36 years experience I can honestly say do NOT do any of this. Learn how to paint a perfectly straight line freehand, or hire a professional. Most people don't realize the damage they're doing to their property until it's too late. If you don't know what you're doing don't do anything.

1:36 you can leave a quarter inch gap at the top of the wall the same as this video just fine with an uncut brush.

For a lot of jobs it works better and is a LOT cheaper to use a cheap dishwashing type sponge that have the green scrubber on one side. I think I got a pack of 6 or 8 at dollar tree for a dollar. Worked great for varnishing the interior of my boat.

if you want to reuse your brush, simply wash it well with rapid water to remove all the paint then let it dry then you can use it again like a new one.

If your confidence in cutting in is low enough to use these tips just go and buy some masking tape, it's dirt cheap and guarantees 💯 straight edges, other than that practice and take your time. In the time it takes you to make these I could have a room cut In. Good luck with your projects 👍

This video is very inspiring. I need to screw together a bunch of random crap and then make it a carpentry hack video to get a million views.

Paint brushes aren't that expensive at Walmart. Buying a new one would be soooooo much easier and you don't have to worry about any mishaps with your homemade paint brush.

I feel like this is more work than it gets out, and likely costs more between time and materials.

I’m all for working smarter, not harder, but if you just spent half the time it took creating these ‘hacks’ and just work on doing things right, being a better painter and taking care of your tools from the beginning, you’d probably well on your way to being a “level 100 master” a lot faster

I once tried cardboard to prevent paint from smearing on to the other side, one hand holding it on the no-no side and the other hand doing the painting... I think it worked ok :)

Muy buenas ideas, quiero que compartirles que aquí en México en los talleres y cuando se ejerce el oficio de verdad es muy difícil crear cada una de las adaptaciones compartidas pues se adapta más a el medió en el que trabajamos y se crea técnica pues es verdad que es un país donde todos los días se pintan casas, se restauran muebles , se hacen casas y el ritmo es muy distinto;sin embargo las life hacks son muy buenos para quien las utilicé en la vida cotidiana.

I always keep several thick, worn out brushes because do a great job of dusting small hard to dust objects. OP

I could see where these hacks would be okay for a novice painter, but after painting artwork on billboards for a few years, I can cut that ceiling line and trim in in about as much time as it took to screw that little wheel on the brush.

At £5 for a pack of 8 in the U.K. it cheaper to use once and throw away rather than feck about cleaning them. My father in law has brushes from 1972. He doesn’t understand why I buy a new pack of brushes for every job!

Use 1" brush at corners. Do not cut big brush.

Ограничитель к кисточке Проще было поставить длинный ограничитель на стене для ровности И не забыть пределать Баночку на пояс что бы ложить кисть для передышки Потом взять бахилы надеть на голову как шапочку И не забыть сшить из пакетов Плащ Некие ляпы краски на джинсах и Футболке иногда выглядят Очень По домашнему Мне кажеться вы дотошный немец или англичанин
