I don’t even think it’s a debate it’s just a discussion. And now the discussion is getting better because people are asking about other players that should enter in the equation? If you can compare LeBron, then you can compare Tim Duncan or Kobe or Larry, or magic or any other players I’m leaving out.

Everyone understood Nike, the league and media groomed Jordan as soon as those shoe sales hit. Most people now weren't alive to see any previous greats. Those that were say Jordan to be PC but all have other players like Kareem, Dr J, Bird, Magic, Russell, Wilt as their personal goats. Mike robbed Olajuwon of a dpoty, won mvps on teams that weren't even top 8 overall in the league and was the first or only player to do this and that because before 1983 there wasn't a dpoty to win, before 1979 no 3pt shot, before 1968 no def teams, before 1970 no finalsmvp, before 1973 no blks or stls to record, before 1980s most games werent even recorded, and there was certainly no major advertising for Kareem because he was a Muslim or Russell because he played during Jim Crow. Edit: Its the undisputed part in the goat title that honestly pisses me off. I mean here we are watching the 20th daily video about the subject yet MJ fans swear theres no debate. Imagine crowning a dude 2 chips in over Russell, Wilt, Kareem and Mikan. Hilarious to say the least. Fast forward some 20 years, Bron goes back to back and the discussion heats up, and MJ fans all of a sudden bring up rings.

Funny how every Jordan fan doesn’t want to use numbers or career accomplishments in the goat debate because if you actually look at them. I mean it’s not really close. Jordan might have been the best season to season player. But the stats don’t lie. Better all around shooter. Better passer better. All around playmaker and a more versatile player. Better team player. Better leader. They say LeBron had to learn to win but what they say about Jordan is worse. Doc rivers and others have said Jordan would stuff his own stat sheets in his first 6 years and it took Phil (head coach) to tell him to get his teammates involved. Then he started winning. LeBron already did that and by year 5 was in the nba finals. Took Jordan 7 years. So if you wanna say Jordan’s the goat than fine. But lebron is right there and there’s no disputing that fact.

2 of those seasons he barely played, so really it's 11 full seasons as a Bull. He amassed 68 official NBA accolades in those 11 seasons. LeBron is in his 21st and has 63. People talk about Djokovic in tennis, all the titles he's won, more of the big titles than anybody else, that's his case for the GOAT. He won more than anyone else. People talk about Messi, more big awards than anyone else, so many league titles and now a World Cup. He's the GOAT because he won more than anyone esle. Of course these guys are also amazing statistically, so they have both the stats and resume. Jordan has both better stats and a better resume than Lebron....it shouldn't really be a discussion...unfortunately there are a lot of fools in this world who are easily influenced by Klutch Sports Media 😂

@questonferguson1625 I've hooped with 90s players and this generation. I was in a conversation with 3 CURRENT NBA players I will not name...one of em said "this is the laziest defensive era since the 50's"...FACTS! And the only thing better about this era is 3 point shooting. Stop being impressed by swag...players aren't fundamentally better today than the 80s and 90s. So Jordan DID face as good or better guards. You're impressed by guards who don't have to face a guy like Alvin Robertson (league wide considered arguably the greatest one on one defender ever). Lazy defense...and triple screens. It's not the same.

@@StrictlyStrange67 truth. Case in point about the offensive rebounding, which are more impactful than defensive rebounding. As of LePeds first few games of his 21st season, he still hasn’t past MJ’s total offensive rebound total😂😂😂. 6’9” vs 6’6” and 25lbs heavier and LeQuit hasn’t pass a “guards” total offensive rebound numbers. He has played 6 more years then the goat, who is smaller. He cannot touch MJ on offense or defense. How is he even past the legitimate top 10 all time greats, much less past Magic, Bird, Duncan, Kobe etc. Forget MJ. Stats alone don’t make you goat, especially when most of your stats ain’t legit with this corrupt league giving him rebound credit after another player tips the ball to him, giving him cheesy assist totals by changing the assist accrual rules, allowing him to flop to pile up fee throws which he bricks 60% of the time etc. Ridiculous to have him in the top ten much less ahead of the legit goat candidates.

This is not meant to be disrespectful at all because I like LeBron and think he is a generational talent. Let me say this just as food for thought though. The longevity discussion for LeBron is both his greatest strength and his greatest criticism and here's why. If I play at any high level and have great players surrounding me and I do it for 20+ years then I should be expected I hold all the records. Simply speaking he has done less with more talented people around him, for a longer period of time. I mean we are closing in on him playing near double the amount of years Jordan did, with going from various super teams, load management, and in a less physical game. I'd hope he'd have about all the records with a 20+ year career considering all of that. Just sayin', and it is something nobody talks about. Jordan did more with less, and in less time. Take away his time with the Wizards, and he still did more with less time and with a less talented supporting cast and didn't jump from team to team or need a super team to do it.

One thing I can say, Jordan and Kobe knew how to get to that freethrow line. In Jordan's 63 point playoff game he was 19-21 from the stripe. Kobe's 81 point game he was 18-20 from the stripe. They were masters at getting and 1's or causing you to foul them in the act of shooting because they both had finesse. I'll take finesse over power any day. Jordan and Kobe were both very strong as well, but they used that take contact and still make the shot.

I've watched the NBA since the early 80s and I would say Lebron is the 3rd or 4th best player I've seen but he's behind Bird and of course Jordan who is the greatest. Bird was a more complete player offensively and a better closer and I say that because Lebron for his career is only shooting 37% outside of 3 feet and in the playoffs it goes down to 31%. This shows he has a weakness and Bird and Jordan had none. Lebron and Magic are interchangeable for me as the 3rd best player.

Everybody talks about LeBron's 2011 Finals, but lets not forget his abysmal 2013 Championship where he turned the ball over inexplicably 2 times in the Final few minutes of Game 6 in Miami when the Championship was on the line. He was then bailed out by the great Ray Allen. Then, when the exact same roster Spurs team in 2014 decided to play beautiful team basketball, LeBron got thumped 4-1 in the Finals with the same supporting cast of Wade & Bosh. LeBron's had junk teams & super teams that he's taken to the Finals & been thumped with both. That's all you need to know when the uneducated bring up Jordan's super teams.

@@howsittastesI think they are pressured or payed to say that. Lebron has amassed a LOT of power over the NBA and Silver. Players and analysts know that and the ESPN’s and Fox’s can’t go against him. This is not a logical or reasonable debate for a sane, UN manipulated brain. One man is undefeated in the finals for 2 3 peats in one decade, while amassing massive dominant numbers by playing team ball. The other guy got dominated with sweeps and beat downs in finals which he contributed to by playing little to no defense as well as flopping, quitting or just mentally running away from the moment often. I didn’t even mention his record of failures 4-6. He has more failed seasons that MJ’s total career played. 😮. We won’t even talk about the accolades MJ has over him while playing team ball and not stat padding. Imagine if Jordan approached the game from a selfish standpoint instead of team standpoint? No one would get close to his offensive or defensive numbers. Yet Lebron took much longer to pass some of MJs numbers he got playing team ball within a system. The eye test seals the deal in any non-biased onlooker. Lebron is a lumbering, clumsy oaf by comparison with a very small offensive arsenal. All he has is hill smash football moves thatbare against the NBA rules but they let him get away with it.

Michael Jordon = Killer instinct, finishing in the 4th quarter, game winners- series winners shots, always wanting the ball for the last deciding shot, playing every single night so all fans get to witness the GOAT- no player management BS, playing incredible defense every single All NBA 1st team on both sides of the ball, denied many hall of fame players of a title who were in the finals against him, won six titles with one other great player and no superstars but solid role players (ie a team), never, ever actually verbally proclaimed to the world that he was the GOAT, never had to chase away or have coaches fired, never demanding to trade half the team to get him the “help” he needs, never played on a super team besides the Olympics, never had to chase rings, never having 2-3 TV networks praising and arguing the GOAT debate, never had to pay others to make the argument for him, never had the league commish in his jock strap, never was idolized by the refs, never went to the free throw line on so many bogus, phantom calls, never won undeserving awards, (AD should’ve won the MVP of the AAU championship….I mean in-season title), played in the years of defense and intense, physical basketball, never complained about EVERYTHING, never had an excuse on why he lost in the finals (one reason is he NEVER did lose) but if he had, wouldn’t come into the press conference with a cast, talking about playing with BS injuries, played in a very tough eastern conference and had to beat multiple 50+ win teams in the playoffs, never won a bogus covid Disney world title after months of rest, never had to demand people to “give him his damn respect”, never had to have his wife announce he is the GOAT, as a prediction of the future- never demanded his team draft his son so they can play together although he’s just ok at bball, never had to look like an Amish elder with a deep suntan, never disrespected the team that drafted him (his hometown) to chase rings and build super teams, never only read the first page of numerous books while having his picture taken, never was a woke social Justice warrior, never whined about being discriminated against as a black man who just happens to also be a billionaire, never sold his soul to communist China, never crowned himself the king with the putting on the crown move in games or on stage, never paid a tattoo artist to put Chosen 1 across his back, etc…. The list just keeps going but these are just some of the reasons Michael Jordon will ALWAYS be the GOAT and Lebron shouldn’t even be in this conversation because, besides Jordan, Kobe, Kareem, and Wilt are above Bron in this debate. Just own it “The King, the Chosen 1” that you’d be lucky to crack the top five players. You’re top 10 at best.

Only ones who will even question the greatness of the greats before whether it be Wilt, Russell, Kareem, Bird, Magic or Jordan are people who have never watched them play. Before Bird, there was another name seemingly whitewashed from the books and his nickname was Hondo. John Havlicek. The man was a beast of a player. He is often left out of conversations but truth be told, he is better than most all the superstars of today. Like Bird, not a high flyer so he wasn’t into glamorous plays like today but he got the job done and nobody worked harder at honing their game.

He is still the only player in NBA history to win the Scoring Title (he averaged 35.0 PPG) and the Defensive Player of the Year in the same year, also he is the only player in NBA history to achieve (in the same season) the following accolades: Regular Season MVP Scoring Champion NBA Champion Finals MVP Selected to All NBA First Team Selected to All Defensive 1st Team He did that 4 times in all and 2 other times he won all bar the Regular Season MVP - over 7 consecutive years he won the Scoring Title every year averaging 30+ PPG every year and missed a grand total of just 7 games! He is the GOAT and it is not even a close debate.

the other reason Le Bron has more points is 3years in college for Jordan 2 years early retirement ,retired in his prime he might have 8 NBA titles . So as 5 years of his pts per game based on 76 games played times 5 =new totals plus playoff games of which he avg 12.5 games x5yrs = then take his 33.5pts a game x12.5x5= his new totals. So Lebron playing his last 14 years in a league that has become more passive and with load management camping out for a 3pt shot has given all NBA players an extension of years to their careers.
