5 real reasons not to buy this figure: 1. It's too expensive. 2. They're already sold out. 3. You don't have enough shelf space. 4. May never arrive due to Covid-19. 5. Your cats might break it.
@@powerrangertube Realistically though the cat is going to see the head on Titanus, and see it as something to whack. Things that stick out, attract their attention something fierce. All mine are in sealed boxes though, can you comment about how placing the megazord, in either Titanus release, causes with those tight fit placing in or taking out? Is it just in this release or is the legacy version also a paint-scratch risk when placing in or out. I was going to setup a display during quarantine, but your feedback may just make me keep em sealed in boxes, or maybe just break the seal for a in-box inspection for damages, but not taken out of styrofoam. I'd appreciate in-depth reply. Thanks!
i agree its stupidly expensive big bad toy store have them in stock i agree..... i had to remove the tail from the ultrazord to fit it in my display shelf actually mine arrived in 5 days afters purchase, because Wisconsin apparently classified big bad toy store as "essential" so they are fully staffed
I have a solution for number 5, just sell the cats, that's why I don't have any pets, is annoying to see your toys get destroyed because of a stupid cat or dog( I love cats and dogs, but I'm not a big fan of them breaking my stuff)
I actually just got one of these today (at lower than MSRP) and I'm really happy with it so far. I've never had any Titanus before, so this is my one-and-done. Very nice review, looking forward to Part Two!
I understand them wanting to re use the mold since it IS nicely designed, but this is disappointing. It’s certainly not up to par with the other SoCs Ive handled or seen reviews of. The gauntlets could have had flip out or clip on handles for the Megazord to hold on to, or even an entire separate piece that helps them fully close around the forearm. The place where the Megazord stands should be bigger and maybe clip into the legs. It must be like you said, where this was not planned at all from the start. It would be cool if they sold the chest piece by itself, I think that really completes the look of the Mega Dragonzord.
At this rate the Soc Gx-85 is way cheaper than the aftermarket prices of the Legacy Titanus, Soul of chogokin hold their value in the long run anyways so the long term winner will the gx-85 once they do sell out! I got the gx-78 from blue fin for 80 bucks during their xmas sales but you never know with this one bbts so far sells it the cheapest!
Really agree with your review. I adore my SOC Megazord, it's arguably my favorite collectible. The attention to detail, the vibrant color, and how everything just fits so seamlessly together, I could go on and on. While I was originally lukewarm on the design of Dragonzord compared to fantastic Legacy Dragonzord, it really grew on me. While it would be cool if it did more on its own, as a 6th zord and combiner with the main megazord I'm extremely happy with it. But this? Man, what a disappointment. Not just because it is a copy of something I already have, but because it's such a step down from out last two releases. It doesn't feel like it was built as a companion piece, because as you mentioned it wasn't. But I also feel like the artistic design is more in line with Legacy Dragonzord with a smoother "cartoony" shape rather than the more geometric sharpness of SOC releases. This design difference is probably what bugs me the most.
It's like the Legacy Dragon Dagger. They used the exact same mold for Zyusouken. Only difference it came with a stand and the Zyuranger songs instead. Apparently they sold it for twice as much or at least sold it around the time the Dagger got a rerelease in the states. When I saw SOC Titanus, I really had a very difficult time seeing the differences. I don't fault them from reusing a good mold, I just fault them for not doing more at it's price point. Now it's price is also going to fluctuate and as the BOA stock runs out, the SOC Titanus will be the only game in town for a while. Overall the earlier shows do suffer from cheating to get the attachments onto the man in the suit for the show. Dragonzords legs and chest literally change size. BOA really didn't work on it's combos either. Thundermegazord Legs weren't designed with the Tigerzord in mind. Falconzord wasn't designed well to combine with Ninja megazord. Looking at the spots, I doubt it would have worked well with a potential Shogunzord. Dragonzord has too heavy legs that don't clip it securely. I think this is why down the line the zords on the shows started to cheat less. I may not agree with the designs but whats on the show is built like a toy and so the toy looks very accurate to the show. The battle between accuracy and function is difficult because the props didn't really need to transform all that much. Just do enough to switch to the suit actor.
In The Toys that Made Us, I believe Haim Saban took toy production rights (outside of Japan) away from Bandai. Maybe high engineering costs (and not much difference in final quality) led them to use the Legacy Titanus mold? It's not a complicated figure to begin with.
Regarding the foot move in tandem, you can rotate one of the wheel 180° and ensure the peg that connected to the foot is position opposite from the other side, it will position like a bicycle pedal. You might need to remove one of the leg to rotate the wheel
I don’t know if it’s the fact that I don’t have either the Legacy nor SoC versions of the Ultrazord or whatever, but it seems like it’d be much easier AND cost effective to buy the 93 versions in at least 80% complete and clean/decent conditions & buy ToyHax or BD15 decals to make them show accurate. Plus, you also get a motor feature
The problem is compatibility. The Legacy/SOC lines are slimmed down from their 90's counterparts. So connecting the Titanus parts are not happening. There are other differences you can't really ignore like the hollow sections on the original 90's Toy. Sure if you just want it just to have it. You can also get the B/G Legacy Titanus if you don't mind the color.........for now.
This was the one thing I would see in the commercials on the VHS tapes that I had to have I never was able to just go buy it I am definitely still buying it I need it I would sit there and drool at it
here's a tip for the triceratops I learned on mmprtoy's video comparing the bandai and soc versions. It's much better to put the tricera tops in on it's own first, then the rest of the mega dragonzord can go on top. Although I can imagine taking the rest of it off triceratops while its inside Titanus to separate them would probably be a bit annoying. Hope this helps.
Yeah they did really drop the ball with the claws. But I still like this ultrazord set over the legacy one. It's more balanced, not gonna fall over and burst into pieces like legacy. I didn't expect too much from it.
While I was disappointed with the arms and tight space, I still think SoC Titanus is pretty good. I think it helped that I never got the original Titanus, nor the Legacy version upon hearing all the problems with the final combination.
The sad part is that the legs on the 2010 Dino Megazord are perfectly capable of supporting the Legacy Dragonzord (or such has been my experience). I’ve had mine displayed like that for years without issue, which is hilarious. I’ve thought about getting a SOC Titanus, since it’s less than half the price of the Legacy one anymore, which I never managed to find. Still not sure.
This vid was one of the reasons I didn't get into SoC stuff because they look good yet have a variety of issues most notably the joints loosen over time. It's a shame since I love stuff like Getter Robo. For me, I probably would've stopped at the Megazord and Dragonzord. Then got the Figuarts to go with.
There was a recent rerelease of SoC Megazord. A friend of mine said there has been no joint looseness on it whatsoever. What annoys the hell out of me is I can't get a definitive answer if there has been alterations.
My t-rex tail dislodges from the dragonzord’s back with the slightest of movement. Is this the same problem as mentioned at 7:18? Does anyone else have this issue or i’m just unlucky?
My Titanus had the same issue with the legs moving at the same time as well, for what it's worth...but it didn't have that issue coming out of the box. I doubt they'll make any fixes to the megazord...maybe another reissue of what it is now moving forward...but I think it's much more likely we get a Dragonzord colored Titanus to go with the Megazord they released last year and even then, I expect that to have the same issues as this does.
For a long time I passed on this begrudingly, because I wanted an Ultrazord in my life. Couldn't justify the price until BigBadToyStores Black Friday sale dropping it to 200 bucks. I couldn't let that pass lol
@@powerrangertube I’ve found that if I keep a glasses lens cleaner on hand, just keep polishing whenever it gets dirty, and eventually it just sort of stops getting dirty. I can’t explain it...
well... I didnt got them thinking bout the combinations xD Like u said, they all look better separately I think Im getting the minipla set for this combination mode. Really hoping for a Tigerzord release in the future
Titanius is NOT a SOC standard. I was totally disappointed and if I knew that they were based on same mould, I wouldn’t have bothered. In fact this made me disgusted about Bandai. No great detail paint app looks so plastic.
Just grabbed this guy for 50% off on blufin last week. I have the legacy megazord and dragonzord. Will they link up to make Ultrazord without any issues since it's the same Titanus legacy mold?
I assume since they're both Legacy, they will. My issue is future purchases. I don't see any Chogokin models of anything beyond wave 1. In the show, the Ninja Zord also combine with Titanus. I just bought the Chogokin Megazord, Dragonzord, and Titanus, so my main concern in a future purchase of the Ninja Zord. The only one I see made is a Legacy version. So I hope the Legacy Ninja Zord fits the Chogokin Titanus.
When I was a kid I lost my sword for a while I ended up finding it but I would use the gauntlets as a main weapon I broke the chain and used the gauntlets as a weapon
Titanus 11 45 and 12 15. Yup I know what you mean by that, IT'S TOTAL MARKETING BULLSHIT! That's why the vintage 1993-16 Megazord, DragonZord, and Titanus to form UltraZord is STILL WAY BETTER! I stopped buying after Legacy DragonZord due to the fact it feels frustrating when it's combined into MegaDragonZord where the die cast feet of DragonZord sagging down because of the heavyweight. PLUS the Knee leg stablelizer is Not enough for the Megazord/MegaDragonZord to keep it for tumbling down forward... From there I LOST MY SHIT to buy Legacy Titanus for a ridiculus of $300. And despite the cool articulations of the Soul of Chogokin Megazord, BUT it fu*king got hinders once you combine it with Sould of Chogokin Dragonzord and Titanus to form Ultrazord, So pretty much the same shit as a combined Legacy Ultrazord.
I think Bandai flopped with the legacy stuff until season 3. The season 1 zords were fine on their own and in dino megazord, but the combinations are terrible, mega dragonzord the worst because it'll ruin the head paint. and the fact they messed up the legs of the staff for warrior mode I still don't get how they managed that. Legacy thunder megazord is overpriced compared to everything else in the line, and makes way too many zord builder compromises that are even worse when combined with legacy tigerzord, which looks pretty good on it's own from what I've seen. season 3 definitely looks like they really tried and thought things through with ninja megazord and falconzord. Shame they never got to legacy shogun. Also would've been cool if they made a legacy movie megazord considering the closest they ever got was that figure with the enlarged ape sword.
Even ninja megafalconzord wasn't without its flaws. Unlike the original, the Falcon barely clipped on and the bear shoulder didn't hold in place so whenever you raised the ape arm, the Falcon fell off.
I just can’t justify the price when this is only 1 of 3. Alone, Titanus just doesn’t do anything. It’s basically spare parts for the Megazord, which then limits the poseability. Very happy with my Legacy trio on the shelf.
@@powerrangertube i just think the deluxe Zeo Megazord would look so much better in Titanus than the old regular Megazord, especially with all that Chrome gold accents
The gauntlets for the Ultrazord are so obnoxious. I can't believe figures with this price point can have such major flaws. Also figured out recently you can fix the wheel motion by holding one wheel, and turning the other one backwards. There might be a bit of trial and error involved, but you can make it so the cannons move in the alternating motion as they should be. Why it didn't come like this, I don't know.
I can’t wait for hasbro to put out zords. I hope that’s what we get between this last wave of figs and the next one that they say is not coming out until late next year. I never got any of the other zords cuz they were all too expensive by the time I found out about them.
It should do because it's the same bay size as Legacy Titanus. The back plate stands a bit more upright though which makes it a tighter fit with falconzord attached.
great video, unsual extremly disapointing release from the figuhuarts divison of bandai what a terrible way 2 terminate what was so far a wonderfull re-work of the original megazord serie
call me crazy, call me a blasphemous for suggesting this, but perhaps they could have redesigned titanus with some extra features, like a megazord mode, or a combination with dragonzord, or even an optional ultrazord formation more like recent ultrazords. heck i wouldn't mind official toy/soul of chogokin versions of those scrapped redesigned dinozords and tigerzord bandai and toei almost did for the commissioned footage of power rangers season 2
Okay, I've got a crazy idea, and I need an expert to tell me if it's at all workable. Vintage original Dragonzord (I've got a line on one still in the box) with Reprolabels for screen accuracy, with Soul of Chogokin Dragon-Megazord.
You mean OG Titanus? Possible. You'd need to somehow get the claws and chest piece to stay on the Chogokin version though, and they probs won't fit properly
Hi i have most of the zords 3d models you can see pictures in facebook page Forge Modeling i will add soon more for now i already 3d print the triceratops blue ranger PRMM
I hate it. I hate this is the last guy that I have to get if I want to complete the set. I managed to get the Chogokin Megazord & Dragonzord at store price through a freakin' miracle, but getting Titanus will cost more than *combined*. All for freakin' Titanus. He looks cool and all, but it's pretty much just a glorified stand for the worst combination of the Megazord and Dragon Zord.
Japan didnt have access to these toys? riiight so your gonna totally ignore that if it wasnt for super sentai where titanus originated under a different name we americans myself included wouldn't own a titanus. lets be real if you own any of the old school megazord sets why would you buy a carbon copy ? its like buying wing zero and then they make a shinier version and say here buy this. i know im on a bit of a rant but if your a serious toy fan your first version of a toy is your main version even if they make another shinier or updated version of the same friggen toy.
I'm I the only one who's triggered when people say "Zoo Ranger"? It's "Ju" is in Auju sauce. Source: how Bandora, Barza, or the Zyurangers say it when their not shouting their team name on the show.
Forgive their western tongues? I think a better way is to explain to someone they should say it like Jew Rangers. It's not 100%, but it's fairly close.
This thing REALLY ruined my enjoyment of the SOC overall. Completely ruins it IMO as the whole Ultrazord seems like an afterthought. At least I made money selling them off :/
Damn, I was disappointed with SoC Dragonzord, so I was hope this would be decent but it’s even more of a letdown. SoC Dragonzord is barely different than Legacy version and the red isn’t bright enough for Dragonzord’s eyes so it always looks dead... great Warrior/Battle mode though. And Tiranus is basically the same as Legacy but worse. Kinda glad I was dead broke before it came out, cancelled my preorder. oddly a blessing in disguise.
Your comment made me go look at my SOC Dragonzord photos and oh man you're right. There's never any red visible in the eyes which you'd think is pretty basic really.
I dont get why people love the combined mode of all 3 megazords... it looks like trash😕 the dragon word split in half & just dangling over the other megazord? (I'm a massive fan btw) but that just looks bad, my opinion yes, but that doesnt mean everyone else is wrong... personal preference
