6. MELTING POT
One of the major advantages of studying in Belgium is that it’s very welcoming to immigrants.
Especially Brussels, which is sometimes called «melting pot» for a mix of cultures, is a place to be if you are a foreigner.
Here are situated the EU commission, parliament, and council, so hundreds of people from different nations come to work and live here.
The ease of coming to study in Belgium attracts lots of international students too.
Morally, it’s easier to build a new life when there are a lot of expats around, just like you.
The English language is spoken by the majority of people, and Belgians don’t mind speaking it with you. In my experience, it’s one of the most immigrant-friendly cultures.
