For me it's my daily driver so I went with an Ecoboost that had literally every option available ($8k) over a base GT. I get to enjoy all these sweet features I use daily over something a bit louder. With active exhaust on track it sounds nice without being obnoxious. If I had two cars perhaps I would have went with a GT. It's a compromise, but so is everything in life unless you're bezos rich.

Ford did a banging job with the ecoboost 'stang! Probably one of the fastest 4-bangers in the market. The v8 'stang is an excellent bang4buck value though.

I have 18 ecoboost and yeah I get hate from people but not v8guys I get hate from people that don’t even have mustang lol I just don’t listen to than lol

Oh man im glad you mentioned the engine bay difference. Its SO much easier to check thinks and work on the car. Taking the turbo out takes like 30min and theres hardly anything in the way. Try doing that in a Focus RS without hassle.

I bought a 2019 Ecoboost premium convertible about a month ago living in LA, and I love it. As someone who's never been a car guy and had been driving a 2012 Smart Fortwo, I feel great about the car. I do occasionally wish that I could get that great engine sound that the GT's have, but I also enjoy engine that little hissing sound the ecoboost makes when it takes off, and boy, does that car take off!

I settled with Base Ecoboost with HPP and Handling pack, 6 MT. One of the most engaging car to drive IMO after month of ownership. You just want to drive on twisty roads and keep shifting through gears. Magnaride not just makes handling better, but car handles even bad roads and potholes so comfortably, (way better than my Expedition). I have mixed feeling about MT though, shifter is not refined at all (compared to 2014 V6 PP I had in the past).

I live in a rural setting so I am getting better mileage. I went from a V6 Mustang to the 2.0 and was worried about the mileage. The best I have gotten was right at 30 mpg and that took work honestly. Average is 24-28 with normal driving. My insurance went up some but it was mainly due to a new vehicle versus an 8 year old vehicle. The best way to get a 5.0 is buy one used~I bought a 2020 used that was a rental vehicle-so it was $33K vs well over $40K-I have a convertible GT Premium. It still has plenty of factory warranty left. Lastly, I agree-a Mustang owner should never bag on another owner of an eco boost or V6. I bought my V6 because of cost and it was great. It was a 2012, also a used rental, bought in 2015-no issues-ran great. Bought for 15K including TTL, sold for 10.5K in 2020! Not bad-helped me to get my new one. Enjoy your car-I am!!!

Excellent video! After years of practical cars (other than 2004 Thunderbird), traded my 2017 Fusion for a 2020 Mustang Eco Premium and no regrets. Always assumed I would get a 5.0 but in the end many of the factors you detail persuaded me the Eco is the better option for me. Mine came with the active exhaust, and since I’m not a hard-core exhaust sound person I’m content with it. Three months in and so far, so good. I hope you enjoy the GT, it’s still the “true” Mustang and I certainly respect it.

The GT sound is soooooo good! The car looks cool sounds great and is priced fair. (in normal times)

When it came to my insurance from an Eco to a GT it only went up like $10 more. And yes the gas mileage is not as great in the GT but when it's advertised as 16mpg city and I'm getting 22.3mpg city, I'm pretty thrilled. Wouldn't trade my GT for the world! Congrats on the upgrade to the GT bro!

I mean I feel like none of these reasons really matter compared to the GT! Sure it costs more and more to maintain but at the end it’s waaaaay worth it! No hate to the ecoboost but the GT is way more fun and enjoyable!

I recently bought a 2019 ecoboost and it's by far the funnest car to drive that I've owned. That being said if I had an ecoboost and a GT side by side and they were both the same price I'd go for the GT without thinking about it. Here in Canada the price difference was about 15k to 20k between them. So for me the only reason to get the ecoboost was price, I wanted an affordable sport's car, so I didn't care about fuel mileage etc.. However, like I said, I'm happy with the ecoboost nonetheless, it puts a dumbass grin on my face any time I floor it to merge onto the highway, and the styling is beautiful, I'm a sucker for futuristic looking machines. And it's cool the technology that goes into developing an engine that puts out so much power and torque with just 4 cylinders.

I have a 6 speed manual eco boost. In city/highway driving I’m averaging 31.4 on a 500 mile trip since I bought it. Shift between 2 - 2,500 rpm kick neutral before a stop light etc.

I had a decision to make. Ecoboost premium or Base GT I'm very happy with my premium features & it's still a Blast to drive. I'm happy with my decision

Just sold my 2012 man gt. It was amazing but for a daily driver: it really shows how a 2011+ v6 and ecoboost are really great bargain cars!! I could have kept it but it annoyed me quite a lot having a 412+ hp car that take a good amount of gas and only really enjoy that much power only a few seconds a day: you don't really realize how little you can really use all that power: there are only a few place where you can: only a few spots on my route. Yeah the v8 sounds is amazing..but again: aren't 350z a cult car? .. Those are quite similar in performance to a v6 mustang!! My 2 ¢!!

I traded in a 2017 Mustang V-6 for a 2020 Mustang GT Kona with black accent package. My impression on the test ride of the Mustang GT was that the it gave a rougher ride and it felt like a tank. I was hesitate to also trade up due to the plastic oil pan on the GT. While I like the sound and power of the 5.0, I do miss the V-6 at times. The 3.7 was bullet proof--my 5.0 gave me a check engine light at 1,600 miles.

Just picked up an EcoBoost with the high-performance package. It has every possible available add-on included, touch screen, rims, even the handling package. It is KICKASS. It's time for people to stop bad-mouthing EcoBoost mustangs.

I’ve had one “not so fast” Mustang. Since then it’s been GT’s until 1 each GT350 & Roush RS3. In the end, they’re all good!

I have an Eco I love my car without hearing the car from the exterior it looks like a GT. But I can't wait to get a real V8 sound.

I drive a 2.3 EcoBoost in the UK and in urban areas I get 26MPG and if I drive long distance on the highway, obeying speed limits but otherwise driving to the limit, I can get over 39MPG. To our American friends this reflects an Imperial Gallon and I always use E10 fuel.

I bought a 17' GT/CS with the 6r80. Car has been fantastic and it sounds amazing. I just couldn't live with the purchase of a 4 cyl or 6 cyl stang. I'm sold on the exhaust note of the GT.

Bought my wife the same car as you only the ecoboost one. It's been a really fun car. I like to blow the door off the chevy truck guys at the stop lights with it lol. Her ecoboost is faster than most V8's on the road. Very fun car for $24k

It's crazy that I used to take that same exact drive to work every single day when I used to live in Henderson, NV. Or Anthem specifically. Just makes this video a little more interesting knowing that my POV videos could've looked very similar to what you've got here. On topic of the actual video though, I'm seriously considering getting a 10 speed EcoBoost. Reasons being I already have a 4.6 that I'm never selling and going to be fully building hopefully within the next year or two, I want an IRS car to experience the handling capabilities of, and I need a daily that get's good gas mileage. 21 MPG city and 30-ish MPG hwy is amazing compared to the 17 MPG city and 25 MPG hwy I'm getting now in my 4.6. Granted, I do have 4.10 gears which is an automatic 2-ish hwy MPG bite off, but still. It would definitely serve as a much more economic car then my near full bolt on 4.6 3V. In regards to the EcoBoost sound, yeah it's not a 5.0, it will never compare to a 5.0, it won't even sound better then the 3.7 Cyclone. But that's not what it's trying to be good at. The appeal is having a daily driver that not only looks incredible, but one that's a worthy sports car in the sense that it can handle almost as good as a European car like a BMW or Mercedes-Benz, has enough get up and go at 310 HP and 350 lb/ft of torque, and can get up to 21 MPG city and 32 MPG hwy while doing so. Sound is not what's important with this car. Although I probably would add a downpipe and replace the stock resonator with a Vibrant resonator if I got one. In any sense, this is a great value car if you're looking at having a daily driver that can out handle most cars on the track on the weekend, pass most cars on the highway, and still get good gas mileage on your daily commute. Definitely a top choice for me in looking for my next car.

Just traded in my 2007 grabber orange manual GT for a 2015 ruby red automatic EcoBoost Premium. They have basically the same hp (300). I really liked my 2007 but some days the manual got annoying while in traffic and with long tube headers it was a bit loud. It was time for a change and so far I enjoy the EcoBoost for many of the reasons you covered. I will always miss my orange GT though 😢

A stock Ecoboost Mustang is honestly impressive. They’re pretty quick.

Thanks for this video +~ you answered a lot of questions for me. I owned a convertible Mustang for eight years that I loved and now I just bought a Velocity Blue 2019 Premium EcoBoost five days ago. It was a whirlwind purchase that I couldn't pass up ~ I fell in love with it when I sat in the black leather seat that hugged me. So, now I'm reading facts and watching videos wanting to learn all I can (I know one would usually do that before buying...) and seek reassurance that I made a good decision. I'm also researching active exhausts . . . I've always wanted a GT and I know that this one will never live up to that sound, but I know my EcoBoost sound can be improved. Do you or your subscribers have a recommendation for which one I should go with?

Here’s why the gt is better. V8 growls. And the engine is naturally aspirated so it’s more reliable. However “more reliable” is a sliding slope. If you wanna pay 10-20gs more and like v8 sounds. Sure v8. Otherwise the 4 turbo. Can sound good. Is quick, does have good torque. And it’s faster than the previous generation. All of them. Pre s550. It’s a mustang and it’s good. The v8 gate keeping

Mpg was my main reason I got an ecoboost. I drive over 60 miles a day.

I'm an old mustang guy and my 93 mustang is loud as hell that's what a muscle car is suppose to sound like. The gas mileage is no big deal so these new mustang just won't work for me, I'm getting another V8 mustang.

Let’s agree to disagree. If you want a cheaper daily driver and get stuck in traffic often just get a regular Honda or Toyota. I rented a convertible ecoboost and it was fun, but I own a GT coupe and would never choose the ecoboost over the GT. Ever

I've driven both, GT's good for straight away's, Eco is good for long twisty highways......especially if you get the magnetic suspension and the manual....

My insurance lists my ecoboost as a coupe, because it’s definitely not a sports car.. so that alone saves me a ton of money + I get 31.5 on the highway and I drive a little fast so that’s not bad. A full tank of gas lasts 8-9 days before I got a quarter left 😂 it’s incredible

When you traded your ecoboost in with all the aftermarket parts, did they give you more money

You should get jacking rails as they do help stiffen up the suspension a little bit, plus you can jack the car up at any point along the tails and not just the jacking points

Can also add some cheap bolt ons and a tune and it performs as well as a stock GT, while being lighter

Hint…it’s not. NOTHING replaces the rumble of the V8. I don’t care if it’s faster or gets better mpg…the V8 rumble reigns supreme.

One raison why the GT is better than the ecoboost? V8 babyyyyyyyy. End of story If you look at the stock power vs rpm curves, both ecoboost and V8 delivers 160 HP at 2900 RPM. It s just an impression that you feel. The power is very linear on the V8. The V8 is NA for sure but with 8 cylinders and 5 liters, gives you quite some torque already.

Another important thing is getting the 401a package no matter what version stang u get..

I say, if you aren't driving my car, what do you care what it has under the hood? Someone mentioned that if this car was made by someone else or didn't have the Mustang body and name, it would be praised as a great deal and an awesome car. V8 mustang owners always want to claim superiority. Go complain about the Mach E, that was a travesty. In the process of buying a 2020 ecoboost Mustang Premium. Always wanted a Mustang but have no need for a V8. The V8 requires premium gasoline, the ecoboost can run without issue on regular unleaded. Huge savings over a year right there that can pay for CAI, BOV or some cosmetic upgrades.

The Eco boost is a great package but if your not a turbo guy they're plenty of N/A v6 cars around. I bought a used 2012 premium 3.7 convertible back in 2017 with 92,000 on the clock awesome shape. Did just a few mods to it. K&N filter set up tune, axel back mufflers, one piece drive shaft, 4:10 gears, with wider tires. I now have a car that will do 13.7's in the quarter and will out handle most Porsches while getting 24 to 24.5 MPG all for around 13K.

Nothing beat the sound of a V8... You even swooned when you started up your GT in the beginning of the video.

330hp and 350lbs of torque with a manual. I’ll take this 10 out of 10 times over a GT as a daily driver. I can actually use the power and compared to civic Type R, gr86, integra type S you know cars that are getting praised by everyone, this has better stats.

I'm averaging 28MPG on my 2020 Eco Prem. Mostly highway driving with cruise on at 80MPH. For the price of my loaded Eco I could have gotten a base GT but I wanted the goodies and tech and this was going to my commute car- work is 35 miles each way. No way am I doing that with a V8. Also what shocked me was the insurance cost. It's super high IMO. It's almost 3x as much as my 2020 Tacoma! I couldn't even imagine what the GT insurance would be.

I think what's crazy is my 2018 makes 700whp and gets 30mpg on the freeway, and averages a higher MPG than my 2016 Fusion titanium..

I have been getting 15-16 MPG on my 5.0 since getting it in June '21 from the factory and breaking in per the manual. A true gas guzzler but the coyote is amazing.

I just got a 2020 premium ecoboost for 25k really great deal my first mustang so I'm excited my dream car eventually I'll update to the gt but this will be a fun car.

I bought a 2020 Ecoboost about a month ago after driving a V8 for 9 years and the fuel savings alone are worth it to me. Plus I like the look of the car and it’s fun to drive. I see it as an economy choice for someone who doesn’t have much cash to burn, yet still wants to drive a vehicle with a sporty look and feel. I couldn’t care less what other people think of it and nor should anyone else. Buy the vehicle that suites your wants and needs, not to impress other people!

To each their own but I prefer my GT. It has great power and with aftermarket exhaust it sounds way better in my opinion.

I prefer my mustang Ecoboost over the mustang gt. First, is because I'm a turbo guy. Gotta have a turbo over naturally aspirated. Second, price price price. I was able to get a used 2018 mustang Ecoboost premium convertible with 46,000 miles for $25k. Also, it's a tuners delight. I know it'll never be as fast as a gt but I'm not looking for that. I want to enjoy the performance of the car without having to break the bank. I have about $5k in aftermarket parts in the car and I couldn't be happier. That includes Cobb AP, intercooler, intake, full exhaust, wheels, springs and It surprises a lot of people Nice video. It was on point.

I driven the Ecoboost and GT, Muscle cars are big with poor handling and I find myself crawling out of them. I think for the everyday driver, the only downside owning a Ecoboost is that V8 roar. I found the 6th gen Camaro V6 more at the sweet spot when it comes to acceleration. 0-60 in 5.2 seconds for a non V8 muscle car was unheard of in the early 2000s and some people like prefer the v6 Camaro over the SS you're not using a lot of torque in the low RPM.

These arnt very good reasons and youre saying the ecoboost has alot more torque when ur compairing it to a base base model gt with no drive modes no active ehaust or anything. With 3.15 gears. My 21 gt premium scoots and the ford performance procal 93 octane tune with gt350 throttle body and cold air intake woke it up even more and i dont think the its bad at all with gas. It seemed like my old 06 v6 accord got about the same

I've been debating on a mustang Ecoboost or a Corvette after seeing this video i think I'll get the Corvette. Yes not the same thing but I thought the Ecoboost would be better deal at least for me in the mpg and insurance cost but great video!

Also, you now have 16 fuel injectors, since it’s dual injection, correct? This is the reason I chose a V6 and Procharged it. It’s quite a bit faster than a GT and I get the same mileage as a GT, while maintaining low insurance and maintenance. 👌🏼. Not that I wouldn’t own a GT. I just like putting my money elsewhere. We also have a 2018 Ecoboost. Even though I have a TON of suspension work done in my V6, our Ecoboost’s steering and handling is still amazingly more responsive than the V6. And it’s only got Eibach Sportlines springs.

I get great mpg on the interstate with air on in the hot southwest, about 32-35 mpg

I had a 2018 ecoboost for one year before it got totaled and got a 2019 GT now. I had on average 18mpg on my ecoboost and right now i got 17.8 mpg on my GT and it gets up to 40mpg on the highway when im not going uphill. So for me im actually consuming the same gas on my GT

If you aren’t a gear head the economist is a great car. Most people aren’t worried about the fastest 0-60 or 1/4 mile they just want to look cool and have fun which the eco boost does for less. I’m taking the V8 but that’s just me. If I’m going turbo I’m going WRX and again that’s just me. Do what makes you happy it’s your money

Folks it's Astonishing, Technology.. I have a 2003 Mach 1 w/ 320 torque. I got My daughter a grabber blue 2014 V6 280 torque , my other Mustang is 1990 5.0 Police Interceptor w/ 300 torq. All when new. I'm not bragging, I'm making a point. My 2020 F'n 1.0 liter has 350 pounds of torque.. I feel every bit of it with a 10 speed transmission.. Again, Astonishing....
