You might have noticed, that I do not talk about Louis Vuitton anymore on my channel as much as I used to do - and I don't buy LV as much as I used to do. The last two Louis Vuitton bags I bought, I returned (one of them, because of quality issues). In this video, I share 5 reasons with you, why I don't talk about LV anymore and why I don't enjoy to buy Louis Vuitton anymore. Mary I am with you 100%! I feel the same way. Coach also rereleases archive designs occasionally, but with LV it’s as if they just keep doing it again and again. I’m not going to spend money for an item I can buy preloved that’s better quality.

💯 ! Putting out a re-edition with a fair price point - every once in a while - is one thing... but the way LV developed is borderline an audacity 🙈

You make a lot of valid points and I can completely understand your frustration. The prices are crazy lately and there is a lot of “new” collections that we’ve already seen before. (Just like you, I’m also looking forward to a new creative direction!) I think part of the problem lately is the economy. Not only LV, but all the luxury brands have become very boring lately with little innovation. The luxury buying bubble that happened around the pan demic has burst. People are not buying and the luxury houses are hurting, so none of them are producing anything creative right now. Or perhaps they’re all out of ideas?? 🤔 That said, I still love looking at the new collections and always seeing what will come next. I appreciate your very kind shoutout. 🥰

I love LV and their service is always exceptional. I have about 20 LV bags & SLGs and they’re all in great condition, some I have purchased in 2005. Quality is excellent. I also like the fact that the mostly stick to their classic designs and similar iterations, this ensures that our previous purchases remain relevant and no obsolete. You can see many Dior designs go obsolete because they stray way too much from their original designs and logos.

Thank you for sharing your experiences! I‘m with you about the quality having been great, back in 2005 and even until about 2018/2019..from then on, I can tell a decay, that got faster and worse with each year.

I still own my LV from 24 years ago, loving it! However when I purchased a couple of LV bags for my daughters birthday a few years ago, the obvious changes were that the monogram canvas leather is thinner & lighter. Honestly I’d rather buy vintage

I have to agree with you on all 5 points. I have fallen out of love, bc I feel that the quality, customer service and price point are not in alignment. I don't really want to buy bags that are just re-releases or adding a strap and doubling the price. In the past I had exceptional customer service and that gave the brand value, however quality and customer service both declined.

I also watch Lula and she's great, but so are you! Just bc other ppl make LV videos doesn't mean you can't/shouldn't IF you want to! I did subscribe for your LV videos but I love your personality and am here to stay even if you never make another one! I wish I never stopped making videos.

Most of your videos deal with your bad experiences and frustration about luxury bags. I don´t understand, why you are still keep on chasing them. For me it is just the logo-mania which serves the incredible wealth of LVMH & Co. and doesn´t take care for customers, as there are too many others, who would die for the next bag. Why don´t you spend your money in bags with a high standard of design instead of boring items with allover logos? Maybe this would keep you away from all the "luxury" problems.

The excellent quality in LV bags only exists in their vintage bags. Their canvas and stitching were better quality when LV first became a staple luxury bag company. If you purchase anything from LV that is less than 10 years old, you risk horribly made and bad quality LV bags that will need to be returned or fixed. LV’s quality control now stinks and it didn’t used to be. It’s all about marketing their merchandise and no quality control now, and still rising prices. I will never purchase new pieces, EVER!!

I have 11 bags and 9 slgs from louis Vuitton.i like the brand.its quality is good and its decently priced.i personally havnt had any problems

I have to admit that I received the absolutely best customer service in LV. Any problem I had was fixed in no time to my advantage. They even 100% reimbursed me on a watch bought over 2 yrs ago, I couldn’t believe it. That being said, I’m not after their bags so much. Personally after 3 monogram and some damier bags, I don’t feel like adding more add anything to my collection. I’ve got Capucines and other bags in full leather and that’s about it. Paying that amount of money to buy the same styles over and over makes no sense to me.

I heard that a few people in the USA had waited a year to have Vachetta replaced and LV ended up doing the job for free!

that's the only pro to it: in the end I didn't have to pay for the repair - LUCKILY, cause I never got my several requested cost estimation from them 😅

Die Qualität und Originalität des Designs sind tatsächlich nicht so gut. Bei mir hat es mit dem Kundenservice einigermaßen geklappt, wobei ich immer das Gefühl gehabt habe, dass sie wirklich um jeden Kauf kämpfen. Im Store wurde ich im Gegenzug meist mit Gleichgültigkeit empfangen und ich habe dort deswegen entsprechend wenig gekauft.

I’ve never had a repair experience to date so can’t really speak on that. Waiting a year to receive your bag with little to no communication from them sounds awful! I still love the brand and haven’t had to return any of my online purchases to date due to quality issues. I kind of prefer ordering online vs in store as I can take ample time without pressure to fully inspect the bag. I know I can always return or exchange if needed. In store I feel more pressure to inspect quickly with the Sales associate standing over me!

Happy to hear your experiences have been all good so far - cause that's exactly what we should experience with those luxury brands! I feel you about ordering online! I used to prefer that aswell (especially since I don't live that close to the next boutique), but guess I would prefer now to check the items out in store beforehand 🙈

Why spend more time giving attention to a problem that drove you crazy for a year? I'm glad that you have the (lovely!) bag back and appreciate your wanting to share your thoughts, but life is short. Create content that you want to! : ) We'll be here no matter what.

I think that your points, unfortunately, apply to a lot of the luxury brands these days… I honestly feel like only 2 brands provide a luxury experience and quality 🫠 This is where we’re at 😭 Granted, a lot depends on the SA’s/online luxury retailers as well!

I purchased sunglasses online because I don’t have a boutique near me. When I received them they had scratches on the front frame and lens and tried to return/ exchange and they denied it because of said issues. Which is why I wanted to return them in the first place. That left a bad taste. And the fact that their packaging doesn’t reflect luxury at all made me realize that it was time to move on to other brands. I’ve been bored with a lot of their products too.

@@LuMiLevelUp no. They sent them back to me because I did an online return with a letter stating that my return would not be accepted because the item was not in new condition. Even thought that’s how I received the glasses. But I was so disappointed that I didn’t even bother contacting CS or even waste my time driving almost 2 hours into a boutique because I felt like I shouldn’t have to struggle so hard to return a bad item they sent me in the first place. I kept them and I still look at them with anger haha because they were $800 sunglasses they were not cheap. But it taught me to be mindful of what I purchase now.

I‘m totally with you on that topic!! There are only very LV bags left on my wishlist, as its mostly same old same old. Still my first love and luxury purchase (also the Speedy). I still want a few Models (as I do Not own nearly as Many as you do ;)). Those I will probably buy preloved…. :)

Why spend all this money on new items when you can get the vintage/preloved ones in great condition for a fraction of the price? The market is full of old Epi pieces! All those quirky older releases can be so fun!

I totally agree with you! If I would consider to get more LV, I definitely would go preloved (unless there might come a new collection, that totally gets me - but I don't see that happening in the near future 😁)

In the last months, you have reported with a relative frequency about your very bad experiences with LV, Vestiaire Collective, ... You seem to be an unlucky fellow. Candi (Candi's sweet love for LV), Minnie (Minks4all), Meredith (Living lux with Meredith), Dayle (Dayle's addiction), Jerusha (Jerusha Couture), Steph (Handbagholic), and sooo many other RU-vidrs have been unboxing a lot of LV bags/SLGs/luggage pieces and accessoires for years without noticeable issues, praising the quality of the purchased items, their SA and the customer service of LV. I haven't had any negative experience with LV myself since my first purchase in store in 2015. Each one of your videos about this topic leaves me speechless. This week, I watched a video on Just Jennifer about Jennifer's successful repair story (her Pochette Métis has been repaired by LV repair service). The contrast between your experience and theirs is sooo huge. Speechless...

Agree, it’s like the universe wants me to stop buying luxury: new & preloved 😂. I‘ve no doubt the other RU-vid ladies you mentioned make better experiences, they buy different kind of items and probably way more frequently than I did. And most of the pieces I bought were „just entry level“. Shouldn’t make that huge of a difference in quality & customer service at a luxury brand in my opinion… but it is what it is 🙈

Maybe some RU-vidrs don’t say anything negative so they don’t jeopardise a potential sponsorship deal in the future? Steph has definitely spoken about quality issues though, I remember her returning a lady Dior and a white YSL bag because of issues with the leathers, her experiences put me off buying both bags.

I know that I’ve seen others complain about LV quality on YT but could only remember those specific examples but yes, fair point, this video is LV specific.
