3 things...1-I love the videos. Very easy to understand and also makes getting into digital art fun and exciting. 2-You're fricking adorable. You look like an amazing and cute anime character who comes to life. 3-I'm so, so happy to finally see a lefty doing these videos. Everyone I watch is right-handed and although it shouldn't matter, for me, it feels more relatable and easier to understand when I see a lefty doing it. 💯👍🏽👍🏽

That painting is beautiful! I love the glow/aura she emits. I'm so glad I had chosen Clip Studio Paint as my first Digital Drawing software! I've really fell in the love with the program and feel that it has naturally grown with me and helped me feel more confident with digital media. I also really love its customization and versatility.:)

I switched to CSP when I can't get enough layers from Procreate (I am using the old basic iPad with only 2GB Ram) 😅. And ever since then, I fell in love with CSP for work.

I've never used it. And it's been a LONG time since I used Photoshop. Would u say CSP is easy to pick up?
@ppawdraws
@ppawdraws 2 года назад
@@bleh329 If you are familiar with Photoshop. I would say it's not that hard to get used to. But it does take a bit of time to find where all the things are. Can give it a try if you're using desktop. Which I think is more worth it because it's not subscription based. And it's 50% off when on sales. Or you can test out by their 3 months trial.

I've been an artist and draftsman for about 4 decades and I've experienced the evolution of the medium from full traditional with no digital option to the current advancements. At first, I was one of those who considered it "cheating" to use the digital option, but then after using it for a bit I discovered the vast benefits that digital options provide. It is most definitely not cheating, it is just a progression of the art and requires a whole new set of skills to master. I still prefer traditional methods for some of my work because the digital format simply cannot duplicate a certain nuance and randomness of detail no matter how far it has advanced (yet), and more importantly: digital work lacks the "feel" of touch that some of us find so invigorating about the process.

As an iPad exclusive digital artist I can vouch for the versatility and tools of CSP. But I haven’t gotten it to my workflow as I still jump between Artstudio pro and infinite painter. Maybe one day. Overall. Good reasons and lovely painting 🖼

Hey Sara, lovely video as per usual! I would really love if you would consider making a more in depth video on how to use layers and going from sketch to full painting. I really struggle with adding colors and values whenever i have a finished sketch :((
@waliyouuu6758
@waliyouuu6758 2 года назад
Here’s some tips on how to use layers : if you want a more "painting" feels when drawing, you can totally do your artwork in one or two layers (two is better than one tough because it allows you to paint a background in the first layer and the character in the second layer) if you want your artworks to have different steps (sketch, layers, line art, base colors and shading) then make a layer for each of these steps. If you add something that you’re not sure about in your drawing (for example if you want to add pupils and you’re not sure if they’re in the center of the eyes or not) , make a separate layer (so you can move or erase without moving or erasing the whole piece) , you can still merge it with your others layers if you like the way it looks

So, last year I bought a Wacom One and Clip Studio with the intention of learning to make digital art. I've only managed to do some super simple stuff simply because I can't figure out how to actually start and what all the terminology and tools do. It's like learning Greek, which I think may have been easier actually. How/where can I start to learn the very basics? I've looked for RU-vid videos, but they always assume a level of familiarity that I just don't have yet. I feel extra dumb that I can't seem to do this.
@nachopve
@nachopve Год назад
I think it would have been more successful first to learn to draw, for example using a pencil and paper. and then when you have a higher level, buy the tablet, etc.
@deenaengelmann2144
@deenaengelmann2144 Год назад
@@nachopve I've been drawing since I was 2 - I'm 54 now. There's literally nothing that I can't draw with pencils, pens, charcoal, etc. My issue is learning the technology of the tablet, like how layers work and what all the buttons do and how to use them effectively. I'm not sure what I said that would make you assume I don't know how to draw.

Would you say that CSP is better to use than procreate for non professionals?
@ducere0
@ducere0 2 года назад
Depends on how much you want to pay. Procreate is one time purchase with free constant updates. Csp is monthly paid for iPad.... personally, as a professional artist I'd recommend procreate to non professional artists. Procreate is pretty versatile and easy to understand

@IDrawToothpicks
@IDrawToothpicks Год назад
@@ducere0I consider procreate for professional work only due to me having difficulty with any other program. Im still being diagnosed but Ive trier many programs that are very similar to clip studio. And it overwhelms me even if it's not to many. Or even if I was taught how to not let it overwhelm me it would still do it. I never felt that with procreate. I wonder why this is the case for me. I'd love to try clip studio someday But don't have the money for it
@IDrawToothpicks
@IDrawToothpicks Год назад
I say either can be used. Some people just prefer to use one over the other. You need to feel comfortable in the program you're using that's the most important step for doing art digitally. I haven't tried clip studio but programs like it and I never felt at ease using them. Maybe someday I will but for now I excel at procreate and use it for professional work 💜

I love clip studio paint and was so happy to have a one time buy option, my ONE gripe is that I wrongfully asumed buying it would give me access across devices, just like how an adobe sub gives you access across any device, but no, buying it on PC doesn't give you mobile access and if i want to use it on my tablet I'll have to get the subscription for mobile devices in addition to having already paid for the desktop version. A big draw to clip studio for me was that I was tired of being forced into expensive subscriptions by companies like adobe, the sub price seems reasonable at first especially compared to adobe but with the single device plan within just 1-2 years the sub adds up to even MORE then the one time buy cost for the desktop version, and more then procreate within just 2 months, I know clip studio is more powerful then procreate but is it enough to be worth several times the cost within just one year?
@blulavie8012
@blulavie8012 2 года назад
Clip studio it's not cheap. I'm missing the liquify tool and it's not optimized for every ipad just the lastest ipads pro. Procreate it's really cheap, optimized and with lots of features, it misses the great blending and real paint feel like clip studio but i still think procreate definitely wins over clip studio if your using an ipad
