@EVPRO I just watched this clip from James Hype in Rio and I am not sure who his tour manager is , and whoever it is overbooked him which had a visible effect on his health and there were multiple equipment failure and in one instance the Mega Deck that the CDJ's and mixer was sitting on wasn't properly secured and that caused issues with the CDJ'S Another venue had failed to do a through risk assessment (Which by the way his tour manager could have done) and there was a hole in the floor of the DJ booth so large that he was fearful of falling through the hole and he was sleep deprived on top of that. Two venues had multiple equipment failures and one was so bad that he had to stop performing ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-L4BLnGJh07o.html That's the direct link. When I studied Music Management I was constantly taught about Work Place Health and Safety, whoever his Manager is, is failing badly. He needed to have sleep to function, and if the gear that's listed clearly on the Technical Rider isn't there, either have freshly served and throughly checked gear in a Flight case on standby or get on his socials and let his fan base know so the fan base can apply pressure on the Stage Manager. I would greatly appreciate your opinion
Some really great tips here. Looking forward to giving some of these a go. Been struggling with content for years and the confidence to post stuff, but this has really motivated me to step my game up 🔥
Props to you for using the Zoom H6, I work with DJ's with disabled and I had to make a custom console for one client who loved to run everything into the Red ,clipping and Distortion is far from good, I had to put a limilter on the output as a backup, and I did the Marshall amp trick and tweaked the output gain knob and dropped the levels by 1/4
Yeah the red liners can be a problem. So far I’ve always been good going out of the Record Out option on a mixer. My guess is it has a limited on to stop it peaking. Smart move tho with what you did! 👏🏼
@EVPRO Thanks so much for replying, I did a Diploma of Music Business and then Cert III in Live Sound Production and I was working through possible solutions to dealing with DJ's who Redline the Master all the time and then I remembered what Marshall Amps did. So a custom set up was the only way forward. Analogue distortion can be worked with, digital distortion, no. The audience is there to hear the best possible sound they can. On top of that it's the last thing that the Front of House Engineer wants to deal with
Start without the audio and work it out down the line. The most important thing is getting started! Try the tiktok lives with normal audio first. These are not barriers, just get rolling with it
