5 Speed Manual 1984 Chevy Camaro Z28 Walkaround and Driving Video! 

I raced one of these long ago in my cross-fire 305 Trans Am, it was much faster than mine. I'd imagine a Camaro in this spec feels decently quick even today. I'd love to have one today, whereas I have 0 interest in any 3rd gen F-body with an automatic.

@@terencenoonan7175 unfortunately my other two 3rd generation, an '85 IROC-Z 5.0 TPI and an '87 IROC-Z 5.7 TPI, could only be had with the 700R4. The '85 was brand new and got up and hauled ass, the '87 had a lot of miles and ran pretty good as well. The crossfire cars suffered, first due to lack of HP, and second due to poor throttle response.

Me too! I had the same one...L69 with a 3:73 rear-end and T-Tops.

Had an 84 Recaro Trans-Am with WS6, L69, 5-speed, posi - so effectively the same car. Ruddy brilliant.

Same here. Except in Cherry Red. Graduated HS in 1984. I got it as a graduation present. God I loved that car. The 5.0 manual transmission and 3.73 gears made all the difference. You can really see it in this video.

@@QthAgR8 Not for RPM's, they weren't. More torque, but those 5 speed L69's revved higher. Lots of fun !!!!!!

This example had a T5 5 speed! No highway driving in this take which is why we never got into 5th.

Still got the long hair...for a little while before it all falls down teh drain! lol Saw numerous vids yesterday of young guys"reviewing these similar yr 5.0s and all whined about how heavy the clutch was bitch piss moan . ANd you drove it like it was putting on an old shoe. Wimps!

you dont buy cars based on hp its the car in general. Doesnt take too much to make these quick even with a 305.

Flowmaster maybe, Holley nope, Been there did that with an l69, didn't gain any power, lost mpg and low end driveability, oh and those leaky accelerator pumps on the holleys.

you can downshift them. Easier to replace brakes than a clutch or trans In town I slow down in gear then pop it in N .Then 2nd before going back into 1st when the lights green. At higher speeds N is foolish you have little control over the car

This was a video for a car that was for sale- the radio operation is important and one of the most asked questions we get from interested buyers! Also, as many others have commented, the high stereo radio offered in this era of Camaro is crucial for nostalgic runs down memory lane.
