I feel like razzle dazzler could be put into a lot of shaman decks without having to build around it. As long as the deck has about three spell schools in it, which is not difficult for shaman, it can reasonably be put in.
I think Matching Outfits is only playable as a kind of "we have Hex at home." You defuse some nasty creature of your opponent's, then whatever it transforms into, whether a low or high roll, you also get a copy of. Hex is probably still better but it can be an alright discover
You gotta remember that you don’t have to run Carress in rainbow. I plan on running her in my freeze-burn DK with only Frost, Fire, and Shadow spells which (with some freeze synergy) are all good options.
I think this is definitely a situation where people are misreading the card. She isn’t meant to be a spell school card you cross your fingers and hope is good, she is ziliax that you just have to build your version of mid game which for both DK and Shaman won’t be particularly hard.
death knight tourist get shaman cards. deathknight should have if your holding a frost spell freeze the board or reward playing spells. I mean at this point just play shaman. Don't use the tourist buttons. Now shaman/demon hunter now this is murloc shaman play some boys draw some cards, swing weapon, the pirate that give another pirate windfury sailboat captain and I guess some spells.
Another issue with Siren Song that wasn't mentioned is that if you play it early in the game before having played any of the spell schools that you're naturally running in your deck, Siren Song could end up generating spells of those schools which means it won't even really contribute to expanding your list of spell schools that you've cast this game which is what i imagine you're running the card for. Unless it potentially creating more fire/frost/nature spells actually turns out to be a benefit as they might have a higher power level and synergy on average in whatever Shaman deck you're running this in compared to the more niche spell schools like Fel or Shadow (within the context of the Shaman class). But i have to imagine there's better options if you want to discover more spells. Especially if you're looking for Shaman specific spells. And for Matching Outfits i think that card could be salvaged if it was given the Discover effect.
moving from Cookie over to Matching Outfits is too funny. Want to trade and evolve your whole board for 3 mana or perhaps pay 4 to evolve one creature?
Cabaret seems to fit perfectly into Reno Shaman. It’s an anti aggro card with some reach potentially. Rainbow shaman is not a thing. Just run fire, arcane, fel and nature spells. If you played a Fire spell you probably already cleared the board. You typically get a 5 mana 7/7 taunt + something else.
@@PauloRicardo-md4ji Highlander Shaman’s weakness is that it actually doesn’t have enough mid game cards which is exactly what this expansion is trying to rectify. Shaman always has the option to bloodlust an opponent if a decent size board sticks but it can’t match the late game of Warrior or Priest usually. That lack of mid game is also what allows aggro deck to kill Shaman before they can get off their larger threats. Assuming there is at least 2 good Fel spells that are board centric in DH which isn’t a stretch, Shaman could be a lot stronger than people realize.
@@PauloRicardo-md4ji Razzle Dazzler is also look quiet solid. It doesn't require Shaman to go all in on the spell school theme. 4 spell schools (Nature, Fire, Arcane, and Fel) is more than enough. Maybe include the new frost spell but I'm still on the fence with that one.
Meltemental - theories on how it makes sense: 1. He has to stay in the shade to avoid the sun, thus making him permanently unable to act (frozen) 2. He's frozen (because he's a frost elemental) and is slowly melting (being whittled down by enemy minions)
Lets not forget that rogue still has that card floating around that gives them a random pirate and elemental from other classes. There are enough pirates and elementals in this set that will really shake up the possibilities for that card.
I suspect that with Demon Hunter cards added in shaman will pretty reliably be able to get Fel and Shadow spells which can make Carress more interesting. No idea what those cards are yet but demon hunter spells are typically shadow and fel spell schools.
The "new Sivara" should discount cards with the nature buff. Also "cast a 7 mana spell so a minion in your hand gets the ability to draw 2 cards" is weird. I guess they really were scared of Shudderblock interacting with her battlecry and creating a monster...
If you use Matching Outfits on Reska, you get two Reskas since they're the only 20 cost minion. Also works on Chained Guardian. Some good synergy in DK but I'm still not sure if it makes the cut
I think regis is severely underrating Cabaret Star, its effects are all worth about 2-3 mana on average so at worse if youve cast 2 spells of different schools by turn 5 its probably got at least 2 mana of effects that you care about which I think is the base case realistically
Cookie might even be able to chain, like you play him, trade in a minion, the one replacing it has rush, so you attack with that, and you get an even bigger minion, and maybe that one has rush too. Guaranteed to die after he's played, every time, but clearing your opponent's board whilst setting up a threat of your own has always been a winning formula for a Hearthstone card.
I like the concept of the naga legendary, but it does feel lacking. It almost feels like it could just have all the effects for each school cast instead of just 2, or at least the last two schools so you still have some control (like that one mage legendary that was also kinda weak).
So an example as to why this Shaman package is sooo bad.You have to do multiple turns of work then spend say 7 mana to fiill the board then Warrior just plays Badlands and wipes all your work with one easy card. To be actually good in todays game your cards need to be able to react to the board AND do face damage or a combination of USEFUL things that are more than just putting minions on board.
Absolutely disagree on caress. It’s just consistent, you’ll see this on every shaman deck with 2 spells in it, at worst it’s a 5 mana 5/5 deal 6 damage face. How is this not a 5 star card? Edit : same with matching outfits. The evolve mechanic is unreliable, yes, but generally speaking a powerful 3 drop is as powerful as a random 4 drop (worst case scenario), and this card is basically doubling your board. Say you got a 6 mana worth board, you’re doubling for 4 mana. I’m not even considering the implications of synergies like low stats minions with powerful battlecries. (The perma-frozen taunt is an exceptional candidate for stalling one turn and evolving into a double 4 mana not-frozen minions)
You know? If they gave DK a shadow spell maybe Buttons could’ve worked but with these spells that battlecry sure is disappointing. Honestly maybe Shaman could’ve gotten a shadow spell like you were suggesting. Then Shaman itself could have a way to play all spell schools without siren song. Wish upon a star is Arcane, watcher of the sun has proven itself as a good card and gives you a holy spell, and obviously demon hunter tourist should grant the class access to Fel. Shadow is the only school missing but who knows, demon hunter has gotten a few shadow spells before, maybe they just hate DK for some reason
Most spells blood and unholy runes are also shadow spells. Most of the good ones are control cards, like Threads of Despair and Army of the Dead. But we also have burn with Down With the Ship. Buttons drawing three burn cards with fire (a new card for Shaman), shadow and frost should be enough. Buttons could have a good deck next expansion, and we don't even need too much from Shaman
Nature seems better if it game a minion of your choosing taunt. Carress sounds like the card you'd be wanting to protect, not the one you'd like your opponent to kill
Honestly, the design flavor in this set seems pretty not great. I stopped playing prior to the last rotation, but this set seems just not well balanced or considered.
