Regarding the usb charging. I also have a 2016 model and I have bought the carplay upgrade from the dealer, which became available as an option around 2019. They change the charging port to one that is carplay compatible and this also has higher speed charging, somit has solved the issue for me. Cost was about €250.
You’re literally SO on point with the usb charging port and how LOW on power it actually is. I have a 2017 Mazda 6 GT and I’ve once had my phone plugged into the usb charging port (15% before drive) for a whole 1hr 27min drive, leaving my phone at a whopping 17% (2% increase) after the drive. Literally the worst, lowest amped port I’ve EVER used in a car. All in all, I love everything else with the Mazda but that is definitely one dealbreaker of mines.
Ya. It’s so bad. 😄 I keep a portable charger in my car just in case my phone dies because the car will take forever to charge the battery enough to turn the phone back on.
thank you so much for the tip to keep the audio on after turning off the car… I even didn’t know it could be fixed for having my mazda for almost five years…
For the Cruise control press mode once to turn it on then a second long press Until you see a message and it will turn the radar off and it will be just a stander cruise control like any car , if u want your radar agine just Repeat the same process again and walla you i’ll have it. If it works for you please let me know.
Hello thanks for information. I currently have a 2017 Mazda 6 I’ve had it for 3 years now. Not sure why but I’ve lately had radio interference with other cars music. Have you experienced this? Also the common issues with the inforintment system ugh. I had notice for a year that my Mazda started to feel like there were transmission issues. It would make a clunky noise when I was taking off or coming to a stop when the gears were changing. I took it to Mazda dealer they found I had a leak in a value cover they changed the seal and gave it a turn up changing the spark plugs.. run the best it’s ever ran.. just wanted to put that out here because I see so many saying the same thanking about the clunking when taking off or slowing down.
Wow. The landscape looks incredible. Is that snow I see? I'm lamenting selling my '99 323 Protege last year with only 58,000 miles. In hindsight I should have kept it, but hindsight is a cruel thing. @@TheEpling
Yup. It’s beautiful out here. Don’t tell anyone, though. 🤫 That is definitely snow. Lots of it this year. Sad about your Protege. I almost sold my Mazda6 5 years ago but it didn’t sell. Too many miles. 🤷♂️😄 I was not happy about selling it. Looking back I’m so glad it didn’t sell. I don’t know how I’ll ever let it go. It’s an appendage at this point. 😄
Interesting. My 2014 M6 has no button on the trunk to open it at all. It always baffled me. If my interior release button malfunctions and trunk open button on the key fob goes out, there are simply zero ways left to open the trunk. You cant let the back seats down to get in that way and pull the emergency open thingy, because the levers to drop the seats are inside the trunk.
@@TheEpling I'm intrigued. I wonder if there is a way to verify what cars had one and what cars did not, and why they made the change? Did people complain?
If your phone is a type c charger port. You'll need to order a c-port charging brick with a C to C wire to plug in . This should fix quick charging issues that aren't supported with normal USB. I have the same year Mazda 6 and my phone is a c port hole, and I fixed this issue by buying a C port car charger and just used the C to C wire that came with my phone.
I just had it done at the dealership. At 100.00 miles. Read my above message. I asked the mechanic why do they say don’t change it then do change it. I asked him honestly what would you do. He said I know Mazda says don’t. But I would.
You forgot to mention how horrible and frustrating Mazda’s voice control is!!! It must be listening for Japanese voice commands because asking for directions is hilarious. Soooooo, I installed wireless Apple CarPlay about a month ago on my 16 Mazda 6GT. My iPhone now stays in my pocket. It’s AWESOME!! I had the dealer update the infotainments software to the latest (didn’t want to risk bricking my car), was only $55. I then installed the hardware in the vehicle myself…an easy task with the help of RU-vid. The wireless Apple CarPlay kit was around $160CDN (from Amazon). Now the infotainment system looks modern and asking Siri anything works flawlessly. All the OEM buttons work to scroll and access any functions. I got the car in 2020 and don’t know why I waited this long to install the Apple CarPlay. This amazing car just got better!
I totally forgot about that! I just haven’t used the voice control in so long that it slipped my mind. The voice control takes so long that it’s probably 4 times faster just to find whatever I’m looking for myself. I stopped using it soon after I got my car. That’s a great idea on the wireless Apple CarPlay. I’ve never looked into upgrading my car. Would you mind sharing the Amazon link to the one you bought?
Thank you! I’ve also learned since making this video that if I turn the engine off while holding the button on the shifter down then the accessories will stay on. I’m a little slow. 😄
