NO Way! I'm not sure if they changed up springs or maybe the lengthened the pull lever at the case but I put a Magura Hymec on my 06 CRF250r and it's night and day difference.
sweet bike! thanks for sharing your thoughts. here are some other points to note... in time, the aftermarket should offer better seat foam. Honda only went with Pirelli tires to save weight. they were able to declare that the 2022 model was 8 lbs lighter and the same as the Euro bikes. going back to Dunlops adds a few pounds but is a must. the soft walled Pirelli's require 2psi more air or you may pinch a tube). carbon fiber guards for the pipe and tank have been recommended elsewhere. Eli Tomac was ready to leave Yamaha last year if their new 450 got a hydraulic clutch, because he loves cable. cable gives better feel off the gate. cable allows the rider to see how much they are abusing the clutch, which also tells you how fast the oil is being contaminated. cable allows the lever to engage closer to the grip for better control and its easy to adjust on the fly. these motors are not like the old XR or TTR; the oil needs to be changed all the time. like every 5 hours. if your not doing that and running full synthetic, then don't buy a new bike in the first place. the bike will not burn enough oil in that time to need to add oil, so there is no need for a dipstick. having a dipstick encourages checking the oil while the bike is dirty, which guarantees a bit of contaminants will get in the engine. when we change the oil and add new oil we normally have the bike cleaned off. the OEM's were smart to get rid of the dipsticks. things that are an issue with this model include that the fork comes with horrible valving that desperately needs to be modified. pay for a re-valve so the front end settles in and tracks properly in the corners. drop the forks in the triple clamps to improve stability and go with softer springs if you are under 190 lbs. make sure the shock sag is at 105 to 106 mm. tighten the steering head inner nut to get slight drag at the bars, which acts as a cheap steering damper (but grease the bearings first!). buy a longer o-ring chain when stock wears out, so you can run the new chain with the rear axle all the way back near the stops. this makes the bike longer and helps both cornering and hi-speed handling. if you can afford it, get the flexi aftermarket engine mount kit which will help the front end hold traction and reduce unwanted feedback in stutter bumps. have fun guys!
@@s0lohans tighten it with bike on a stand until the bearings feel notchy while you turn the bars slowly, then back it off till there is no more notchy feel. its a really good setting, but requires that it be greased way more often.
I put a seat cover on my seat and after that and breaking in the seat foam it gets to be about the mid level of firmness that guts racing offers witch is absolutely perfect
It's a nine plate clutch. Keeps cooler over any hydraulic set up.The pros chose that over a hydraulic one. And yes, you're a ranting C - Class Karen, at best!! Stay on the trails, with an XR.
Hydraulic is for the Clutch lever and slave cylinder that pulls the clutch. it has nothing to do with the clutch pack, pressure plate and springs inside the case.
Does your bike start right up with the choke pulled when it's cold? I have the same bike and when I want to start it I have to pull the choke hold the starter for 3 seconds then let go and wait 2 seconds then press starter again and it starts in 1-2 seconds but it starts instantly when it's warmed up. I see guys that just hit the starter with choke off an it starts right up. It still has the original gas that I got it with when I got it from the dealer so I'm hoping they didn't put the wrong octane gas in it or something stupid like that
Make sure you buy a new chain for it too, I ride mine pretty hard through trails and tracks and my buddy races my bike too, so if you’re gonna be busting its balls everywhere definitely change the chain and chain the back tire. I rode mine literally half a mile down the road to hit a trail and already seen excessive amounts of wear and tear.
Not a honda fan boy but sounds like you could benefit from the moto academy alott of your issues would be fixed by just being in a proper riding position. But the stock tires are trash the tank is aluminum and its actually pretty durable but if you plan on woods riding get the plastic cover for it. The seat does break in quite nice after about 5 hours definitely needs a gripper seat cover though. And if you haven’t yet set the sag on the bike for your weight because its a night and day difference
1st it's not all new. It's the 2022 down to the graphics 2nd thing your gonna hate the forks 3rd is its flame out far easier in tight trails 4th your gonna round the heads of the bolts on the body work as they are to shallow to get a good bite. 5th that muffler is as thing as an aluminum can and it will have a dent in it very soon from your boot. New tires adds 3-4 pounds back to this bike. I went from that to my 2023 ktm 300 but 1 thing I can tell you is you'll get a lot more time of riding vs wrenching on the honda and they look awesome as well.
I have one n love it But I have suspension done n going with mx 14 for tire Seems to be perfect. Don’t need the hydro clutch when ya can lug the corners. It’s perfect the way it is. Mine is anyways
Buy a Gutts tall & soft seat with cover. Draw sharpie lines on it and shave it down with an orbital sander. You can make it more flat and the soft foam is heaven. Or buy a wing seat with soft foam
My guy,all the other riders, who ride fast, like that bike, just like me,it kind of sounds like you want to be a trail rider rather than a track rider, plus, that bike is perfect for smaller riders, and it has great bottom end power, unlike the ktms/huskies/gas gasses
I don't get why you're obsessed with the hydraulic clutch tbh. You didn't mention the clutch pull being hard on your hands or any of the typical things. Really is no need to go to a hydraulic clutch because everyone else is doing it.
You didn't over jumped anything you landed on the face of the double that kids on 65's are clearing their sleep. Bud with all the complaining you are doing about three CRF250 I would of thought you was a decent rider. If there was a F class in the sport you would be it. Don't wiry about wearing out your rear tire you're not going that fast or riding that hard to wear down the tire. Bud if you want to get better in jumping and riding with speed and not complain so much and just be happy and greatful to ride, ride when the kids on 65's are on the track. They are animals. One last thing if your seat is too hard to sit on you're not riding enough.
@@cosmoscience2092 Thank you I've been riding 35 years I've raced for years been to Lorrettas a few times mini O's a few times coached and ran schools. Thank you very much for your reply 😊. Just so many things he could be doing to improve but he's blaming the bike instead of looking at his skill set. I if I lived near him I could teach him his riding can be fixed. It will take time because he's older, older riders tend to have bad habits. I would bet he's a good trail/woods rider. Put him on a track is another story.
@@cheto2952 that’s awesome man. Even qualifying for Loretta’s is a huge feat. Yea at this point I think he’s a little self-unaware. If he even watched some basic technique videos and compared it’d be obvious. For example, the reason his pants/boots got burned by the pipe is because he sits so far forward with his knees bent so much that they awkwardly make contact there.
they are waiting to put a hydraulic clutch on the 250s because they can charge 1500 dollars more. right now, they are waiting for inflation to fuck more things up to make you think you got a bigger bang for your buck when though it's only 200 dollar part.
The Pirrelli is by far better than the Dumblop. Looks to me like your front wheel was floating more than it was on the ground. . Buy Hoosier IMX25 tires.
Thats why when it comes to 4 strokes ill stick with my yamaha. All bikes have there pros and cons but as far as 4 strokes go yamaha is the king ive rode them all tried them all and yamaha is the best and thats an unbiased opinion because i love dirtbikes in general
