I find i use map 2 a lot in loose sand tracks. Really digs in and goes. Other then that map 1 and 3

The different maps actually have more meaning other than rider ability as a direct relationship to bike power/output. Map2 is actually more for a hard pack track and map3 is for a loamy sand or really loose surface. Great video though!

Thanks for watching! Per the manual mode 2 is “smooth”and mode 3 is “aggressive”. Mode 2 is actually indicated for sandy and low traction situations. What do you ride?

@@kylecorbett i run the aggressive map on my kx however it makes the engine run lean is that normal?

@@kidonakx879 I'm not sure, I have no experience with the mapping on the kx's. On my bike it doesn't make it run lean instead it adjusts the ignition of the bike to either be more aggressive or less aggressive.

@@kylecorbett yea for my bike the dfi coupler delays the ignition slightly and adds more fuel into the engine and the result is an insanely snappy power delivery what makes the rear tire spin in gear 5

Mine does a quick orange flash then a solid orange flash what does it mean?

do you have to be below a certain rpms in order to swap maps. one of the comparison videos said you had to be below 3k I think.

Not sure what rpms you have to be under in order to switch but I had no issue switching maps on the fly yesterday.. I wasn't going very fast but I was in 2nd or 3rd cruising along and it would switch for me no problem!

So I race and stuff and switched to a 250 and still have both of my bikes and I'm think I'm done on the smaller bike and plan on selling my 250 and my 100 to buy a brand new crf250r and wondering which mode a more intermediate rider like me who jumps and really good at corners and stuff do you think the aggressive mode works good

Yes I think the aggressive map works really well, throttle response is great and it really pulls. When I am at the track I only use the aggressive map.

I went back and forth several times, in the end I decided I would prefer to ride the snot out of a 250 and have a blast doing it instead of getting a 450 and not being able to use a lot of the power. I am only 5'7 155lbs so a 450 just is too much for me and my skill set at the moment. I wouldn't be surprised if I got one in the next year or two though!
