I never even realized how much mango smash DI's before this. Melee is sick

I remember wizzy pointing it out as one of the reasons he can't beat mango yet. His smash Di is so good (especially against falcon) that he can't punish Mango hard at all. People always talk about his offence but his defence gets him out of disadvantage easily.

@@jeromepowell1392 yeah wizzy is crazy when he does it but Mango is more consistent because he has better experience to smash Di and know he can punish after against most top tiers.

You can say he's pretty much the first who used SDI to great frequency. The biggest example on video was Pound vs M2K where he SDIs M2K's Up-throw Up-air (which was a kill combo at the time). So he's probably the one doing it the longest. Maybe it's due to him being Jiggs at the time that he had to discover it since Jiggs doesn't have the best options out of hitstun like a Fox/Falco.

My guess is because the game can influence a negative feedback loop in your life in some degree. Some people also like to strive for things outside of video games. Melee is a huge time sync to start seeing decent results, and for no real purpose honestly. I’ve opted to practice instruments instead of practicing combos. It’s more gratifying in the long run, and not as toxic as the game can be. No diss on the game or the good parts of the community. I’ve been playing for years, but this is one of the reasons i don’t play anymore.

@@joshuabrown6256 I just play occasionally cause it’s fun, it all depends on what you want out of it. I’m not trying to be the best but I do enjoy watching melee and playing it. Luckily I have friends who live close to me that play a lot and are close in skill level. Play to have fun, but also drop something if it doesn’t add value or joy to your life.

the kid is soo much work lmao. i didnt believe it when people said that parenting was a full time job. It's actually like 1.5 full time jobs but you also don't get any sleep

@@arvindsrinivasan753 Which is something I'll never understand how he does. Anyone can get their second laser low, but mango somehow is able to both low at roughly the same height. Also I've always known mangos laser approach mixup game was insane, but I never took the time myself to breadown what he actually does.

@@medic4838 To get both laser at the same height you need to double jump a little later than you do normally, and hit B the fastest you can (pretty much the same timing than foxes SH double laser)

I made this list before I watched the vid. 1.Win major tournaments 2.Get clips 3.Embarrases his opponent 4.Doesn't get embarrased 5.Makes you want to give on Melee if you play him in a tourney.

when quarantine started, i began studying mango gameplay bc i was on slippi so much and realized all of these things and implemented them into my gameplay but it was just so truly amazing how mango pioneered all of these subtleties and pushed falco this far
