Having friends who are beginners is a perfect opportunity to force yourself to learn switch.

I was thinking the same thing while watching. I want to teach my brother how to snowboard this year and also need to practice my switch riding and thought that would be a good time to do so

Yeah exactly. If Im going up with a new person Ill ride switch all day. Its not a good pacing though so it sorta doesnt work... (and as someone who maybe gets 10 days on the snow per year, its quite hard to dedicate one to switch)

I’ve actually been riding switch while my gf’s brother is still learning to carve. We’re on the same page and I’m riding switch. Riding switch about 25% of the time.

Great tips I am at stage of spinning in snow and frankly that is helping so much to be confident on snow on non-dominant leg.

This feels like the perfect vid to bring back shu! Some good tips here but i also find just riding backwards is a good way to build the skills…

Any time I want to learn to do some basic tricks etc I tell myself that I have to really learn switch first and I'll admit that I really struggle with number 5. I need to head out by myself and just put a day in with this but most times I go with friends and its just a normal riding day then.

lmao i do the same thing, theres been a few days where im like im going to just dedicate my day for switch and after like 10min i give up and go riding normal again and do jumps tricks

If you ride regular on snowboard and goofy with skateboard you guys think with is going to help with switch ride on snow? I started skate this year for off season practise and i found it easier with the goofy stance but with snowboard i am regular rider!

For me switch heel side turns are fine, toe side feel turns feel very awkward and fill me with fear even at low sleeds. Pretty sure what I need to work on is thepositions of my hips and lead knee / shoulder.

Don't be afraid just do it with confidence I'm going snowboarding for the first time on Wednesday 12/21/22 and it's something that I wanted to try for awhile and the opportunity came and I'm excited to shred some snow will let you know how it went

@@Catcrumbs sorry 🤣🤣🤣 lol I busted my ass so many times lmao I skipped instructions and just went full send but did the blue run 3 times but I went on a day where the hill was icy the board was sticky but I somehow naturally went down the hell with toe side to mountain heel side down I felt I was more comfortable that way but know watching this video i learned that i have to buy my own board instead of renting

When trying switch I always struggle to keep the weight on my front foot into the turns, it just feels so unnatural and sketchy but that is actually making me fail more 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

Keep trying you’ll get it! Maybe try on a more mellow slope.

You’re not alone I think that’s where a lot of people learning switch are at. It’s so frustrating cause my regular way is feeling smooth and I know I have the ability

Kevin, what are your thoughts on adjusting stance angles? I'm riding front+18 and back -6 and think this might be not ideal to try switch. thanks
@doronmilner552

I find +12 and -9 works a bit better.

Do you need to adjust the bindings to be even to try switch? Or am I not smashing my head with the original settings?
@SnowboardProCamp
@SnowboardProCamp Год назад
You can ride switch with most stance setups. A twin stance is probably best.

Intermediate-ish snowboarder here (decent on blues, bad mogul technique) but I put a lot of time into switch riding. I like duck stance, +15/-15 angles, obviously on a true twin board. Point is to minimize the differences between normal and switch riding.

A twin stance with the same angles on both bindings can help for leaning switch
