Hi Rhys haven’t seen any videos of yours for a while I hope everything is well I’m looking to buy a decent fly rod now that I’m getting used to fly fishing I would like a 10 foot 7weight rod and was looking at the stillmaniac one that you use would you recommend them or have you changed to something else l would appreciate your advice please
It’s a good idea but it’s very subjective and some people would only see it as a negative (favouritism of certain fisheries etc…) so I tend to stay away from this type of content as a result.
I’ve been having great luck with the yellow dancer and the ally mccoists this year. Had no luck with drys. Any good recommendations for this month? Dry or wet?
Hi Rhys I’m fairly experienced fly fisher but the video on basic just make life on a bank/boat so simple that we all forget Simple back to basic Great episode always look forward to your vids
I was talking to a very experienced fly fisher yesterday- in fact he's a qualified casting coach- and he swears by tapered leaders- he uses them all the time himself and reccommends them to his students!
Great video again sir I always tell people to look for a local club that does outings go with them most guys in it will be happy to help and I always get people casting to watch which way wind is blowing if they right handed put them in position wind is coming left to right so keeps line and flys away and they will cast far more comfortable
Hi Rhys I’ve used tapered leaders but only 4 ft long with a tippet ring so as not to damage the fly line loop saves a bit on leader material as well Regards Ian merseyside
