I love your mindset and positivity. My outlook is FIRE in 14-19 years. I'm going hard and heavy at it, just paid off all my debt and loans, I own on my vehicle for 1 more year, then I'm gonna add that in as well. I look forward to hearing more from you in future videos, we can all grow and learn together.

The #4 point ("The Journey can be lonely") is the one that I most relate to. Some people will come unglued if you so much as mention the topic of investing. I also found that people often become angry if you don't spend as freely as they do. We definitely live in an age where a large portion of society feels no sense of accountability, so there's no need to tell them your 12-year old has their own brokerage account.

Good advice Jake. My biggest challenge to reaching fire is distractions. I'll be building my dividend portfolio but my money gets distracted. In the last 7 years it's been rental properties, pot stocks, cryptocurrency, options and precious metals.

The sad irony is that a life long series of decisions that got you a good to great result will lead many others to just call you "lucky" rather than a product of thousands of choices over time.

Yeah… you could say that about anything. Easy to see a very healthy muscular guy and get jealous, but you don’t see the countless hours of him in the gym and eating healthy.

The biggest thing to me is other people opinions.. our friends have vastly different money habits than us. I used to try to teach them about how to be financially literate.. but I learned that truthfully they just don’t care. So I keep it to myself and watch these sorts of videos or post on my own channel

Hey Jake, could you make a video on the "best" ETFs in your opinion for each sector? Like best ETF/dividend growth ETFs for Tech, Consumer Staples, Consumer Discretionary, Utilities, etc... It'll help us with holding less individual stocks while still being well diversified.

Hi Jake, another great insightful video. Thank you. Speaking of mistakes, I was wondering, while I DCA into my positions, ive been thinking about the money I have in a high yield savings account. For example, say I have 100 grand sitting in a savings account paying me 4.5%, would it be a good idea to put that money in Jepi or another covered call ETF in a tax sheltered account? It would earn more per month (i understand that the share price might go down but I don't see any other issue with this strategy) I was wondering what you think, the goal of that money is just to sit there until there's another massive buying opportunity at low price. Please let me know your thoughts. Also, would love to pick your brain about oktoberfest and the German market someday. Thanks as always, best to you and your family.
@DividendGrowthInvesting
@DividendGrowthInvesting 11 месяцев назад
Well it depends on what you have planned for the money and when. If you need the money and can’t afford to lose it, I like the 4.5% cash option. If you can ride out the up’s and downs and don’t need they money/principal, then JEPI could be a good option. Only problem with holding cash on the side is you could miss a bull market, eg what we saw the first half of the year.

@@DividendGrowthInvesting i hear you, I miss vti at 186, wish I had bought a lot more. Vgt too. The goal here is really to let it grow tax free until an opportunity comes, I don't need that cash and I have room to add to my ira, which is where I would buy the vti + vgt anyway. The 4.5% gets taxed too whereas i in the ira i would pay anything for at least 15 20 yrs. P.s. I wish you were my neighbor lol, I could pick your brain for days.
