as a floor 2 jack o main my favourite mix up is to keep hitting their shield for 30 seconds in the corner with no real mixups since they could but wont block forever
An important difference between throws and unblockables you didnt mention is that unblockables can generally hit an opponent who is in blockstun, allowing for a lot of checkmatey scenarios
The mindset of a defensive grappler is waiting for the oppressor to hang themselves while you're blocking and before was niece because blok bad mee no like mee angy but now became such a decent strategy I will always see as Ol' reliable playing grappler from 2D to even 3D
a lil extra one that can be added to the "do nothing" section is hitting them with the same move, over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again If your game has a universal normal thats really quick and safe, just do it, then again, then again, then again and you will start to see by the 3rd time how they will try to do SOMETHING about it, and if they dont, continue until they get hit, or the timer runs out
I remember when I started playing fighting games I was scared to hit buttons so I was just blocking constantly and it got to the point where I could block multiple mix ups in a row just by gut feeling. So yes, I paid 60$ to block.
I play granblue, the way I deal with people blocking is using relatively slow attacks like Soriz 22M, Lowain 66H, etc. usually, by the time they realize the attack was slow, they hit a button and get hit
Me: blocks Also me: realises that I'm fucked because I have only one reversal that requires meter to use and my fastest button is a frame 5 2P, meaning that I'm mostly fucked
I'm a floor 10ish player, but I got humbled by someone over a thousand levels higher than me just the other day. At one point, they just stopped attacking and sat there in the corner letting me go ham on them for like a minute straight, and I couldn't break their guard. They blocked everything, not even one attack got through. I think learning to open someone who really knows what they're doing up is something that's pretty easy to neglect, and that match made me realize, something I really need to work on going forward.
I would like to see a video on how to beat lame play. I see tons on how to PLAY lame, but there are very little to show how to defeat it besides...also play lame...
Just play rush down, dont gotta block if the opponent has to, the opponent tries to attack you punch em in the face easy peasy :) -sincerely, a millia, yosuke, and kenshi main
one of the funniest thing to do with elphelt is to spam the start of her rekka and when you see them just blocking it, throw them, ive done this every time i see an opponent block the rekka AND EVERYONE KEEPS FALLING FOR IT
Extremely vulnerable to 6P though. I have my own "WHY DOES THIS KEEP WORKING" strategy, that being *jump-in buster* Just jump in, do the motion in midair, and buster them as soon as you land. Just make sure they don't anti-air you
dad, dad, I just started GGST and I'm playing Sin. Can we get a video on how to get in on zoners/trappers? I'm tired of getting wwe tagteamed down a floor by bridgets, axls and bears, oh my! I tried throwing some of the glue I was eating at them, didn't do much, tried being a wall, Chip got my ass down.
no real reason to considering it’s about people who are just downbacking, it’s not like the frametrap is gonna do anything since they aren’t mashing out
Idk, maybe it would help somebody - don't fight idealized opponent. Fight the opponent that's in front of you now. Also, chip damage. They do nothing but block - please, be my guest. Would you like fireball or ex fireball?
My favorite playstyle is fucking with my opponents neutral by playing with a random playstyle at random. One second, I'll be in on your face, the next I'm entirely still just standing there, and then they other is just general neutral play. You'd be surprised by how much it fucks with people if you jut randomly stop whatever it is your doing and do something else.
sorry had to edit the comment, that phrase at 10:00 is just not cool. not unless you're in a comp. environment. it breeds toxicity and people get frustrated/quit.
