So appreciate your comments on “self help and bad behavior.” Just recently, I was with someone who said, “I know I’m overly critical, but that’s just who I am and people need to accept me for who I am.” I sat there dumbfounded. When did this become ok! We need to “self help” ourselves to a higher purpose.

what puzzles me is how to juggle this with a large family... we have 5 kids in the house... in this season, our older kids work jobs, the younger kids are at home, and my brain isn't the only brain here. I have multiple sets of wills, emotions, dirty feet, and poor habits.... I can be perfectly disciplined in MY portion of the daily responsiblities and if everyone else ISN'T it feels like my efforts were for naught. I have struggled with the attitude of "if they don't care, why should I?" Not the best attitude, but I just feel like I am only one person and can't care about everything...
That is tough! I wish I had something wise to say about your predicament; however, I’ve never had children. The most important and arguably (at least) one of the most difficult jobs in the world is raising human beings. God bless you! 🙏
Mom of 5 here too and it is a big undertaking to say the least! As far as the practices in this video goes, I have to make my non-negotiables about ME only! As in; what kind of person am I, I’m the kind of person that moves my body every day, the kind that always makes her bed, that never eats or drinks poison… As for the kids we install systems to help with the habit portion (mostly cleaning right!). 7 people, 7 days of the week, each person gets a day for their laundry and it is 100% their responsibility. The beauty of the systems is that if they flake out, then they are the only one that suffers the consequences of it…ie; dirty clothes. Also, my standards have definitely lowered 😅 Godspeed mama!
I loved listening to you talk. You remind me of my deceased best friend. . .she used to sway when talking to me. The things she'd discuss with me about were very much the same stuff you talk about too. Her voice was similar to yours too. I miss her (she died due to post-birthing/hysterectomy complications a few days after having her seventh baby). You are encouraging. Keep living your life for Christ. I am not one to journal at all because I schedule things well in my head and think my routines and goals out well. I agree that things need small steps.
Always struggling to stay disciplined and to even have motivation anymore. I can think of at least ten areas in my life that I need to change or get control of. But, what do you do when the biggest areas have to do with the ones that are closest to you, bringing toxicity into your life and you can’t just walk away from it? That’s the biggest struggle that I’m dealing with right now. But, I turn to my Creator first and foremost. Love you Lea! ❤ also, can’t wait for your next project to launch! I need to make some cash and I’m all about your way of doing it!
My best advice is to start by getting really good consistent sleep before you try to tackle anything that requires motivation! “Why we sleep” is an incredible book that changed my entire life!
I love that you touched on habits with regard to discipline. I just finished Make Your Bed by Admiral William McRaven yesterday and he opens with suggesting we all complete a simple task at the beginning of our day (ex: making your bed obvi lol). How those small deliberate tasks help us over time to tackle the larger obstacles in life. Some years ago, I heard Elisabeth Elliot recommend it, and its become one of my morning routines just before heading into my little prayer closet. It definitely kickstarts my day and has helped me develop a disciplined, daily routine with the Lord. Also looking forward to autumn! Though in my region of Texas, we don't really see fall kick in til much later than many!

Hello🙂. I am just wondering how you knew how to heal your gut? There is so much information out there I don’t know what to believe anymore. I have interstitial cystitis (Painful bladder syndrome that is auto immune) And have developed many food, sensitivities, and sensitivities to supplements. I reacte to so many of the things that people say to use I’m not even sure where to start.
