The funny thing is, I dont even play competitive pokemon anymore, Is just that Pinkacross videos are informative and interesting to watch. Good video, as always.
If bolt didn't exist, would having an electric immunity still be required? It feels like bolt is practically the only electric threat right now, and things like rotom / mag volt switch don't really feel the same threat as they once were in the past. EDIT: oh right nvm forgot about Zap VS Also it's not really a thing in OU but in lower tiers there are some teams that deliberately do not run knock because they have a poltergeist sweeper.
If Bolt didn't exist, a LOT more teams would be able to get away without an electric immunity. Volt Switch is only half the reason an electric immunity is so necessary, Thunder Clap is the other half. Probably most HO teams wouldn't have a ground type if Raging Bolt didn't exist.
even for an offensive team or any team outside of Gen 9, having an electric and ground immunity has always been a go-to benchmark for me. it’s too helpful
You forgot to mention how certain bulky stall teams don't need resistances to a particular type since they have extremely strong walls like blissey which might as well resist every special move
Blissey is pretty much a single-case there-- nothing comes close (except Chansey lol). And even if you have it, you still need to worry about physical moves of that type, and it'll be a disaster if you don't have a resist. Probably the closest thing to a physical blissey is Dondozo, which isn't even close frankly.
yo pinkacross. do you think SV OU needs any bans, or do you think it's fine as it is? I'm a bit split. I wouldn't really care either way, but I wanna know what you think. Do Zama, Waterpon, and Kyurem deserve bans?
I don’t think handling Weavile or Triple Axel variants of Meowscarada are going to be important anymore given that they are basically guaranteed to fall to UU next tier shift, and once they fall they’ll be trapped in there for good because of Lokix and Scizor
That's not correct. Both Weavile and Meowscarada are currently far above the range of dropping. Furthermore, rising to OU doesn't happen from UU usage, it happens from OU usage, so Lokix and Scizor being good in UU isn't relevant.
@@pinkacross2042 But is there any data that either of us is missing? Last tier shift I remember Meow was like 5.2 something and Weavile was 4.527 literally 0.007 away from dropping, which really makes me anticipate that they’re going to drop next shift.
Building a decent HO is braindead easy, building a great HO team is very difficult. But yes, HO is allowed to break a lot of conventional building rules.
I wouldn't worry too much about the Zapdos matchup, there are a lot of things that need to be shored up. Roaring Moon is an awful MU, as is Gouging Fire, as is Raging Bolt. I'd recommend a more offensive build with more pivoting to utilize H-zoro best.
@@pinkacross2042 any suggestions for a good core member? I thought Hamurott was good because it works well with illusion and helps with spikes. Also, Dengo helps with the steel birds and keeps up the hazards
@@dream_weaver6207 I would pair it with Cinderace probably, to keep hazards off. In general though, building around Zoro-H is going to be very very difficult. Mon has almost 0 defensive utility. I'd probably go Ace Glowking Tusk?
Pink is Gholdengo still the ideal preventer of hazard removal for hazard stack? I'm also struggling to fit everything I want onto one hazard stack team, it's getting difficult to beat balance while also not getting swept by HO.
hey pink heracross do you think Gmoltres can work in any team other than a hyper offense? ive been trying but havent been able to make it work in a balanced team
My first livestream featured that Electric Terrain team! It will be under the "Live" tab on youtube! I didn't build the team during the live, but you can see all my sets during the live. :]
Rock, I could see that being correct. Steel and bug, I disagree. Kingambit being able to hit your team free and unresisted is catastrophic. Similarly, Gholdengo MIR will devastate you if you don't have a Blissey/Chansey. If you don't have a bug resist, a TON of strong U-turn pokemon will ruin you. Cinderace, Meowscarada, Rillaboom, and even typically non-invested U-turn pokemon like Landorus will be a much bigger problem.
@@pinkacross2042 you’re right. I forgot about Gholdengo MIR. I feel Kingambit is gonna crush a team regardless 😂. By the time he’s out it’s usually kowtow or sucker punch. U turn too. It wrecks my team a lot so that makes sense
Sure! Here's one: pokepast.es/9152e4c3894aed33. I think pretty much every sample team resists every type as well, lacking a resistance to a type is rare among top level teams.
Absolutely, in the sense that you can't have a team where clicking Will-O-Wisp or Toxic is free. That being said, you don't need a dedicated status absorber like Gholdengo, Gliscor, or Garganacl on every team, especially if the team is more offensive.
I seem to recall there being a video that ranked how difficult it is to build each archetype, with HO being easiest but the overall spectrum not being the same as the offense/defense spectrum. I thought it was this video but did not see it here or in any of the other team building videos. Could someone help me find this chart or did I imagine it?
Rock MIGHT be OK, dragon is absolutely not OK. OU has 7 offensive dragon types, and 6 run dragon coverage. Not even an entire team of Tera Fairy pokemon would make that OK, sadly. Unless your team is an HO that has a great MU against a lot of those dragons, I'm definitely concerned.
Day 8 of asking Pinkacross for a RegiJesus (regigigas) team-building and live ladder video. P.s I'm never going to stop asking till either I forget or it's a video
