The simpsons Hit and Run was my first GTA game before i got an official GTA, so it holds a special place in my heart. The game was and still is AMAZING, truly a great Simpsons game. Thank you so much, Mr Carey your hard work on such a FANTASTIC game! Btw im shocked nobody talked about the "playable UFO" cheat that floated around before being debunked years ago. Anybody remember that?

It's actually pretty amazing what some of these dev teams do under the limitations and time constraints companies and license holders put on them. This game is something they should be proud of.

Shit, that Troy McClure impression had all the trademarks and nuance of Phil Hartman’s voice acting.

Jesus Christ imagine if they got more time like how rockstar do with their games. This game could of probably been the first TV show video game to get game of the year or a bunch of rewards. It had so much potential. It was a masterpiece from what it is already , just sad they were rushed.

"But Football In The Groin had a football in the groin," instant liked the video. I almost missed that quote.

Damn. Put my animated intros to shame. That intro was amazing!

It's funny at the end when Cary mentions how he is surprised how many people remember this game, because yeah Hit And Run was a formative game for me as well. I was in 7th grade at the time and went through a horrible anxiety/depression attack after watching an apocalyptic horror movie at the wrong age and the two things which got me through it were daytime cartoons (mostly cartoon network) and Simpson Hit and Run even though I had never watched the Simpsons before. I forgot how or why I even had the game, but for months it was the only game in my Xbox and I'd play it all the time during my depression. Actually, I remember being at my grandmas house looking out the window and imagining the apocalypse and undead and chaos breaking out and I'd run to the Xbox and just playing Hit And Run until I got over it. For some reason no other game did it for me, maybe it was because it was based off a cartoon but to this day I thank that game for getting me over that period. One day I need to go back and re-play it because it was a ton of fun even though I had no idea what The Simpsons were. Even though I became a bigger fan of Futurama I still liked the Simpsons and wonder if I will enjoy the game more now that I am almost 30. So thanks Cary Brisebois, and the whole team. Was one hell of a fun game!

Honestly this is one of the first games based on a TV show done right. This game was incredibly fun as hell.

I hope my message reaches you Cary, I had a terrible childhood, constant fighting between my parents that went on for years. However, I remember receiving this game for one of my birthdays, for being 3 or 4 years old. I had so much fun exploring every little detail of your world, it was amazing, your game was/is so good it literally made me forget about all of my problems I had back then. I love you for that, thank you. P.S I was very scared of the bees (in this game) as a child, I would always get my dad to beat them up :)

I for a fact love video games with huge open world's to explore. Always felt more personal than any mission select screen.

I played the crap out of this game growing up, I have so many good memories about it.

I love when the actual developers get to chime in! So many aren't willing or allowed to talk about their work, it's a shame.

I always love hearing developers talk about their games, but something I rarely hear is a developer actively shouting out the modders for their game; that doesn't happen often, but it makes me so happy when it does.

The fact that this game was under extreme time crunch and somehow is the best simpsons game to date is impressive in it's own right

It's sad this game was a victim of crunch. I found out the other day the reason why there was only 3 areas in the game and the last level was cut in half was because the developers ran out of time. Still nevermind, this game was still a major part of my childhood and I wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks for doing this, it was interesting to see how the world looked off screen and how the developers handled the game. Now it's on to other games and hopefully eventually, The Simpsons Game.

Do one on Tony Hawk, those games have a ridiculous amount of things outside of the barriers, like entire areas that are solid and accessible within gameplay using glitches out of bounds.

Wow, that's very nice of some of the developers to comment on this. It's always interesting to hear their perspective, which is all too rare. Thanks for this and thanks to them for their work. I made what I feel is a fairly simple game, Deluxe Pacman 1 & 2 and I have recently heard from someone who said "they grew up on it" and thanked me and let me say that not only surprised the hell out of me, but made me feel good that I was able to bring some good times like that to someone.

Thanks for this video! This game defined a phase of my life, when I had just moved out on my own and had my first own PC, which was slow by standards that day and could only run older games. I didn't even have working internet for few weeks. Simpsons Hit & Run was one of couple games I played a lot and even finished during those weeks.
