We have just over 50 hours on the Summit TX25, still the latest tractor in the compact world. We'll tell you all of our thoughts from having used it for almost a year-what we like and what we don't (there's a lot more we like than don't). Plus we'll show you snippets from most of the projects we've tackled the last ten months.

A rear mounted finish mower is always a better choice than a belly mount mower. You can sharpen or replace blades easy and can remove the mower and pickup another attachment without having your mower dragging in the dirt and mud. The adding of rim guard makes all the difference in getting power to the ground and a low center of gravity.

The LX2610 has a similar battery location. It makes life so much easier when you need to get a jump or just plain remove it. If the summit wasn’t so heavy I would have waited until it was in production. I need my tractor to be light on its feet to mow pastures and grass paths that surround my farm. Besides the fact that 30% of my ground is always wet and 75% is hills, a heavier tractor would have gotten stuck to often, but I do love all the extra options that come standard on the machine. Maybe one day I’ll purchase one and just use my LX for mowing only.

Hey good video , the thing I seen that I like on this tractor is the weight of it , but at the same time most of my work I do with my 1025r is garden lawn , and yard work travelling on our grass , so I think this would actually be to heavy for my needs . As far as the hood opening the way it does compared to the 1025r , I would much rather the 1025r and the side panels coming off with 2 easy clips . I have owned the new ct1025 bobcat which is similar to this tractor in the way the hood opens and since I switched to the 1025r I have way better access to the whole engine compartment without the sides of the hood in the way at all ! . As far as accessing the battery on the 1025r I truly don't see it being that hard for how often I'll actually need to deal with it every 6 to 8 years minimum . I would much rather have the easier access in my opinion that the 1025r has . But again my own thoughts and opinions , keep up the good videos it does look like a nice work horse ! Can you please answer this question please , does it have the same 3 point hitch positioning as the 1025r ? Or is it simply up spring to centre and down spring to centre on the 3 point hitch lever ???? Been wondering this for a while watching these videos .

I have followed your introduction of the Summit compact tractor until this review. It seems to be a very capable machine and has many standard features that would be additional costs to many other brands. Your 50 review reflects a very honest and fair representation of this value oriented new brand tractor. Warranty claims, service availability and parts would be a concern in my opinion. However I am inclined to have a favorable opinion of the design, durability and overall quality of this new option to the tractors available on today's marketplace. I own a Branson 2515H which after owning for 2 years and 220 hrs of work, has proven to be a beast for a 25hp compact tractor. Recently being bought out by TYM, I now have a discontinued brand name. This is definitely a concern of mine, as it would be with any new brand like the Summit. Great review and honest pros and cons. We're on 11 acres in South Central Indiana

My luck is something breaks (like on my motorhome) and I can't get parts for it or the mechanic can't get parts. Just to add, I been to Tractor Supply and Atwoods and the people that work there couldn't answer any of my questions. They would just give me a brochure. I hate to gripe, but I'm ready to buy and can't get any questions answered.

Not sure how efficient the driveline is on that tractor, but my Ford 1700 is 25hp and weighs 4000lb+ with the loader and loaded rear tires. At normal operating speeds it doesn’t run out of power with 5ft implements. It is gear drive though (23hp PTO). In fact, I run out of traction with R1 tires before I’m out of power.

Lift height of the 3point, since you're working with the engineering development team, could be improved with longer lift arms. It may reduce the max lifting load (moment arm length) but that could still be a good tradeoff. ... You might mow more often if you can easily remove the front bucket. I have a bit of hate for seeing tractors used on non-bucket jobs with the bucket arms still attached. I grew up on a farm with a MF35 industrial tractor with both front bucket and rear back-hoe and that was the most ungainly tractor we had. When you needed to dig or move dirt it was great to have but kind of useless for anything else and no convenient way to remove everything.

Thanks for this as I was thinking about contacting you to ask for such a review. You mentioned the 3-point lift height limitation. So what is the maximum height it can raise to? I can't find it on the Summit spec sheet. One of my applications would be rotary cutting a rocky field and so I want to lift the mower deck over those rocks. Although I have used a compact tractor (ie a circa 2002 John Deere 4710) this would be my first tractor purchase for personal use and I've been waiting for Summit tractors to be in my area (southern New England) so I can look it over. A local farm supply store (TSC) supposedly now sells it but I have yet to see it inside or outside of that store. I appreciate the videos you have made with this tractor. These have helped me make a list of the attachments I want to buy from you once I get the tractor,
@GoodWorksTractors
@GoodWorksTractors Год назад
I’m not sure, I’d have to measure. It’s just the typical lift height for a tractor in that size range. Nothing unusual, but I like to point out limitations that some might not think about.

The main issue these sorts of tractors will have as everyone knows is its off brand. There is nothing they can do about this besides offering excellent support. When I was tractor shopping I almost bought a Mahindra tractor. One of the main reasons to buy it was the dealer's location was very close to my farm. Due to Covid-19 restrictions they could not get the tractor I wanted in so the deal fell through. This dealer is no longer selling Mahindra tractors. If I'd bought a Mahindra tractor I'd be very annoyed they've done this. Possibly a lack of supply is a reason the dealer stopped selling Mahindra tractors. The tractor I bought was from a dealer that has been selling the same brand of tractors for decades and will probably keep selling them for decades to come.
@LedgemereHeritageFarm
@LedgemereHeritageFarm Год назад
Allegedly, Mahindra is the World’s #1 selling tractor, but it feels like they aren’t doing the best job with dealer and parts support. I own 2 Mahindras and my dealership is literally down the street from our farm which was a huge reason to buy them. The dealership has been absolutely stellar, but I worry about future parts and service. Saying that, I ran away from Deere and Kubota because they are both owned (my local dealerships) by a conglomerate that’s got a monopoly. The mom and pop Deere and Kubota dealers are gone and these companies are able to charge whatever they want to. It feels like a crap shoot either way these days

One thing as a comment about the RhinoHide canopy. I bought one before you bought the company, from a connection of another popular tractor RU-vidr. Great addition, no doubt. But..... I'd like to see the mold or form for the polymer be reshaped such that the individual channels for rigidity are not square, and seemingly tapered to the midline of the canopy. It is a water trap, and as soon as you move the tractor to any tilt or slope, it's a cascade waterfall, guaranteed to nail my pant legs or splash on my shoulders. Slope it so it's self draining, or at least better at only holding an ounce rather than a gallon of cold water!! If Summit is adding things to this tractor standard ton put it outvahead of the competition, then put on telescoping stabilizers on the three point lift arms-- duh. There's mirrors! Nice, but tilt steering shouldn't also be a stretch. And the loader control is up in space. Not very ergonomic.
@GoodWorksTractors
@GoodWorksTractors Год назад
Yeah, not an easy change. Molds are expensive and permanent, so once you make it, your kind of stuck with it. Making a new mold takes a long time to get the payback. We’ll have a new model at some point in the future. It’s a big decision is what I’m trying to say.

I looked at this one and the Bobcat CT2025. I noticed the Summit has a 80cu engine and the Bobcat has 100cu. Both have about 25HP. Do you think the smaller CU matters? Also the hydraulic pump capacity on the Summit is 4.8 gpm and 18.22 L/Min. Bobcat has 11.4 gpm and 42.9 L/min. This seems almost 3 times the hydraulics. Thanks
@MrEunderwood
@MrEunderwood 11 месяцев назад
The bobcat is a 35hp kioti tuned down to 25hp. It's a large frame tractor designed to stay below epa regulations. Branson/TYM 2515 is another large frame, low hp tractor. I think it has highest lift capacity on the loader for a 25hp but I'm notnsure if you can tune it up like kioti/bobcat. The 4030 loader on the kioti is next best on loader capacity. Lots of videos on here about how to turn up the fuel and hydraulic pressure on a ck2610/ct2025 once you're out of warranty to get those 10 extra horses out of your tractor. I've been looking for the same size tractor and just got a quote for a little under $28k for a ck2620 with the same features as the summit. It's a hard call to make for sure.

So far, I'm 1 for 200 on folks that actually order after getting the price to do so. How hard is it to remove the loader and to put it back on...😮😊

I’ll have to do that at some point, but I’ve had no need to take the loader off yet.

Out of curiosity, why do you plan to remove the loader? The arms stay on for most attachments and I've helped family maintain their tractors for three decades without removing the arms. We remove the bucket/forks, raise the arms, and use a piece of plastic conduit over the cylinders to make sure they can't droop and get in the way.

@Noah_E the rare case I would remove the loader completely for would be a front-mounted snow thrower. Personally, I much prefer them over the rear-mounted, though I understand everyone has their own preferences

@@dalcassian56 Don't remove loader mounts for any reason... You will have problems remounting the loader itself.... Wait for a video....

@@dalcassian56 agreed. A 3PH inverted snow blower so you can use the bucket or a pusher up front and don't have to look over your shoulder or use mirrors the whole time, don't get a face full of blow back in an open station, and don't have to mess with/have a mid-PTO is definitely the way to go IMO.

my dislike is the rear hydraulic control lever digs in my leg in fact i removed it and the 4x4 lever is hard to operate for a 73 year old that's a little over height and the ignition is in a hard to reach place and i agree on the tilt steering
@GoodWorksTractors

Strange, my leg is not even close to that hydraulic lever. 4x4 lever works just fine, but they are all stiff to engage or disengage. That’s just a tractor thing.

I scheduled service for one of my JD tractors recently. It was 4 weeks before they could even look at it. Unless it’s a filter, it’s pretty rare that they ever have the part in stock that I need. Same goes for Kubota, Ford, Polaris.

So the tractor you show the loader that is, it’s not the same one they sent to the dealers this year ‘s gonna 🤔 they change the loader design without telling anybody which I think is uncool your brochure show one loader and they send you another not cool at all 🤨🤨🤨call up to tech oh design change couldn’t do nothing about it. Well, not many people notice a difference, but I did.

Product improvements are implemented all the time in every industry since the dawn of time. Nothing new here and nothing to be concerned about. It is actually the opposite of uncool if you think about it. If you want to work with a company that is content sitting on their haunches doing nothing to get better, then go for it. No one is stopping you.

@@GoodWorksTractors OK when you have a brochure showing the tractor loader that is with a safety and your bucket angle bar whatever you wanna call it but when you get the real one in the store and has neither of these devices, what are you supposed to think that’s what I’m trying to say is it a mute point maybe but I’m spending I’m buying some thing from what I see in the pictures on their website show me a totally different product that I’m getting at the store. That’s what I’m trying to say without a disclaimer, saying preproduction model, anywhere on the website that I could tell.

@@milwsdl39 So, you're only upset about the things you don't like that changed. It's not change itself as there's other changes I don't hear you complaining about. So, it's not the fact that they made changes, it's that one change is something you don't agree with. Move on with your day man, don't get wrapped up on something so minor. Obviously every manufacturer on the planet has disclaimers, you'll just need to look harder. But why bother wasting your time. It's not going to change a darn thing.

@@GoodWorksTractors here’s my point when you have the owner telling you in a room of 20 other people some key points on this loader. Oh, we’re gonna give you the safety bar for the hydraulics that’s not on the new loader we’re gonna give you an indicator knowing where the bucket angle is, you can’t even see the one on the new loader that’s all I’m saying man just minor things here but when you’re in the room and the president of the company is telling you these things and you get an actual item at the at the store and it’s a different kind of make you think 🤔 that’s all. Overall, I’ve sold two of those tractors nobodies ass about those items that is correct. Is it a minor design change probably but like I said, when the president tells you about these two parts on the machine that nobody else has and you get the actual item in it and they’re not there that’s all I’m trying to say great videos by the way.👍🏻
