As a Floridian I've always considered California to be our rival, because they have like so many of the same things that draw people like beaches and theme parks and sunny days, but Florida does those same exact things bigger usually and isn't as crowded and facing a drought, and yet still isn't as desired. Don't get me wrong though I don't want to live in either which is why I moved to Massachusetts, which is in fact the best state whoo go Dunkin'

I’ve lived in Illinois my whole life right on the border with Wisconsin and have a lot of family in Iowa. The statement that Illinois and Wisconsin have a rivalry but both collectively agree are better than Iowa could not be more true

Having lived in Vermont and New Hampshire, I think we're really just like siblings. We pick on each other and pull each other's hair but as soon as any other state tries to mess with either one of them, we back each other up

I think California and Florida have a strong rivalry mainly because of "Whos Disney is better" "Whos Universal is better" "Whos Sea world is better" "Whos beaches are better" "Which is more diverse"

New York and California definitely have a rivalry

As a Kansan, I can say the 'rivalry' with Missouri isn't accurate. It's unbridled hatred. And they know why. They just aren't willing to admit it. Guess getting their asses handed to them when they tried to invade Kansas in 1854 leaves Missouri a little salty.

As a Texan, I can say that almost everyone I met hates Californians, so no, Oklahoma is not the rival, California is. However, it probably depends on where different people live which makes different opinions.

As a Minnesotan for my whole life I have to say Wisconsin, but I will say since moving to the south of Minnesota the rivalry with Iowa is pretty thick down here, especially since they love to leave there own state and live here, literally half of my neighborhood our Hawkeye fans, its crazy, go Golphers.

As a Nebraskan, I would say that we have a rivalry with Colorado as a state, but I would say our strongest rival is Iowa because we’re right next to each other and pretty similar but Iowa produces more corn then us which we don’t like because that’s our thing, and we think that in every category that we are similar, Nebraska is better. The state we hate the most is for sure Iowa because we kind of respect Colorado in a way, but we also really hate California but we aren’t rivals at all.

Wyoming's rivalry is actually more against Colorado because we have basically the same tourist attractions and sceneries but they get more attention. We are also literally the same shaped state so there's that.

As a Virginian, I would've said Maryland. As someone who now lives in Wisconsin, it's definitely Illinois until you get out to the far western portions of the state, then it seems to transition to Minnesota.

Missouri is literally a pie because it borders 8 states, so it heavily depends on where you are. I'd say Kansas is the most common followed by Illinois especially if you are in stl or are a fan of the cards. I also hear Nebraska occasionally as well

What is interesting is almost none of the state people referenced the state that mentioned them except for Oklahoma and Texas as well as the Carolinas and the Dakotas. There seems to be statewide aggression toward Florida and Alabama.
