Random info from this project:
I spent 4 months planning this and 2 months working on it. The plastic I used for the burst discs is called PEI. They use it as build sheets for 3D printing Ultem. The air cannon was pressurized to 145 PSI and the barrel only had a vacuum of about -15 Hg. I had to special order the razor blades and they cost $2300. That's because the minimum order was 300 feet and I over estimated and bought 400 feet🤷‍♂️

I say Burger King and McDonalds need to choose RU-vidrs to back and see who has the fastest fast food. Put a price tag limit on it like $10,000 max of items used in the final product and then pay The Slow Mo Guys to film them both being launched at the press of a single button at a "fast fry maker" winner gets $50,000, looser only gets $10,000 both get a commercial with all their foods and ingredients flying through cutters at high speeds. One gets the claim for "fastest fast food!"

Nicely done man! Those were some excellent results! It was really cool to see the tennis ball completely stop its forward movement after hitting the water melon, that means it dumped literally ALL of its energy into the melon!

@@TylerBellMakes Insane! I thought I noticed the same thing, but thought perhaps it was just the tennis ball "skin" ripping? If the ball didn't break open going through a standard racket + a sheet of plywood I would be impressed that it broke on a water melon. But, to my point earlier, the ball still had leftover energy after it went through the racket and the wood (since it moved past the plywood), so the energy transfer was MUCH more complete on the melon. Who knows!?

If i remember correctly most pre-cut fries (those frozen store ones, or many fast food chains), use essentially a water-gun (so same setup but water pressure and/or suction), and an inline grate like that. So they send in a stream of (peeled/sized?) potatoes, and a stream of cut fries comes out the other end.

Only because it isn't extremely obvious, I would highly reccommend some hearing protection. Particularly the over the ear kind. even double up if you can (foam plug in ear with muffs over). That extremely loud sharp sound from the cannon can wreck your ears.
