I consider myself very lucky to have actually gotten a chance to vote for him when I turned 18. Not his first term because I was too young, but his second.
I can remember all Presidents back to Johnson, there was none more genuine, and gracious and classy than President Reagan. He had very strong convictions, and courage to stand firm, yet he was always very respectful of his opponents. He genuinely liked people. Of course President Reagan was a product of the "great generation". People were civilized back then.
I meant to add in my previous comment, not as a criticism but as an observation, that a lifetime in Politics doesn’t necessarily guarantee the making of a great President. It is interesting that we still today talk about what President Reagan brought to the table during his two terms. History, in time, and in my humble opinion, will also show what the 45th President brought to the table in his four years in the White House.

Before Trump set the bar deep in the sewer, I didn’t used think much of this guy. At best I thought of him as a low intelligence, third rate actor. But Trump recalibrated all perceptions. Now this guy is viewed as a half way decent human being with strict limits to the kind of lies he wouldn’t tell, and crimes he wouldn’t commit. In that light I now think of him with a tiny bit of nostalgia. I mean after all what’s a shop lifter compared to the devil?
