59th Anniversary of The Wilderness Act 

🥳 Today marks the 59th anniversary of the passage of The Wilderness Act of 1964. 🏞️
After eight years, 18 hearings, 6,000 pages of testimony (including from many Wild Montana members), and 66 drafts, the bill passed the House of Representatives with just one dissenting vote, making it one of the most broadly supported laws in U.S. history. On Sept. 3, 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed The Wilderness Act into law.
