Unfortunately the shop truck needed head gaskets sooner than I was hoping. In this video we start the process of pulling the engine to replace the gaskets and install a new set of Powerstroke Products cylinder heads from ‪@BlessedPerformance‬
Stay tuned for more of the project and more details about the heads, studs, and gaskets we are using for this build.

Got a 05 F250 that needs head gaskets done. Feel much better about tackling this after watching your videos. Great tutorials and will definitely watch these over and over again before I remove one bolt. Thank you for posting these!

I did my head gaskets by cab off, but I have a 2 post lift in my garage. . Pulling the motor from the front is almost as easy really. That motor is shoe horned in there. Make sure you get the genuine ARP studs.

I’ve done close to 75 of these trucks. Cab off is definitely the way. Unfortunately my home garage doesn’t have enough room for a lift. I have always run the ARPs. On this one we are going to try out the Gator Fastener. It’s more of an experiment to see how they are.

Do yourself a favor for on-track or on-road repairs and leave that fan stator off when you go back together. It’s totally unneeded, just the radiator mounted fan shroud will keep even a truck with a stock oil cooler plenty cool

I’ve considered that.

@@InTheShop Been running my truck this way for years and know a lot of other ppl that do the same. Runs perfect temps and deltas without stator. Fan wires are securely ziptied around the fan shroud so they can’t get cut

I really like your wheel offset, what are those wheels if you don't mind me asking?

Since we have a 6.0 I’m wondering how you found out it has high coolant pressure? Thanks Nathan!
@InTheShop
@InTheShop Год назад
Most common sign is coolant pushing past the cap on the degas bottle.

I se the IPR setup for external oil cooler on the truck. How has that been?
@InTheShop

I don’t have many miles on this truck but I’ve used these kits in the past and as long as you follow the instructions exactly they are great. The majority of the people that have issues with them have leaks because of install error.
@chrisrogers8694
@chrisrogers8694 Год назад
how do you do a coolant pressure test??
@InTheShop
@InTheShop Год назад
You need to tee into the small hose that goes from the degas bottle to the radiator. From that tee put a pressure gauge. Make sure you have a good cap on the degas bottle, bring the truck up to operating temp then drive it hard. If the gauge spikes up and makes more than around 16psi you have an issue.

Nice color! Almost same Lava orange as mine depending on the lighting but mines metallic.Mines a 03' that i swapped an front-end and interior off 07' Think i like your grille better Ive got just a black one off an XL contimplating on color matching my old one that I peeled the bubbled chrome off. Im also in the same dilemma of now pullin the motor out now after a hard life ive got my brothers old high mile 03' motor that im about to dig into hoping rings and bearings are good and just needs ball hone reseal bedplate but ive been stashing parts few years for this. i have fresh set of heads ,studs,lifters and a complete 05+ hpop,rails rocker boxes front cover

Thanks Steven! The grille and headlights are 05+Harley Davidson edition. If you can’t pull the cab I really prefer to pull the motor. It’s a little more work but building the engine on a stand is a lot better than in the truck.

@@InTheShop defintly! Ive done the heads once in-cab and after hugging that greasy pig over the years im done! I helped with my brothers swap in his 03' The lucky prick bought a 05' doner with only 15k on motor for only $2k from a big company updating their fleet going thru the front was easy we lifted cab just a few inches and shoved 2x4s between cab and frame He made bank selling the utility box and stripped cab
