What is up my friends, We are back with another OBS video! This time we install a 2/4 DJM drop kit with all the fixings. I can't believe how much better the stance is. Be sure to like and subscribe and tell us what you think!!
Question. Atm I have a 2in rear shackles , if I were to get a 2/4 kit the rear would sit alot lower leading it to a 6? Than a 4in. I would need to install my stock shackle to get that 4in in the rear?
JUST seen your video. I have the same JDM 2/4 kit planned & an ext.cab OBS . Looks Sweet. Was also concerned about running 15" wheels with same 235/70 tire - I now see I have nothing to worry about.
I believe you can attribute the 1” increase in rear height to the difference in tires. That 255/70 is about 1” taller than the 235’s in front. Same combination I am going with on my ‘91. How much material did you remove from the front lower control arms to clear the wheels? Did you need to reinforce that area for strength? Great job! Thank you!
Thanks for watching! The pinion angle was alright. Since we already had the kit, we installed the driveshaft angle kit. No issues with vibration. There was a bit of bottoming out but shock extenders fixed that by correcting the shock angle so they worked properly. We'd say they are a must have with a drop kit.
Holley PN: 550-917. The ECU itself is the same in all X and X Max kits respectively. The difference is the wiring harness for your application (24x vs 58x, injector plugs etc.)
@@misaelorozco9791 honestly that's why I went with such narrow tires haha. Super easy fitment. In the future I'll experiment with wider tires when I actually have the power that warrants more traction. Good luck on your project!
Just the drip rail on the LCA to where it looked like it would clear the wheel when the suspension cycled and when I turned. Best bet to fit your wheels on while the truck is on jack stands and have someone turn your wheel while you watch underneath. That will give you a good idea on how much to trim. Wheels bigger than 15 inch or with little backspace may not need trimming.
@@redbirdauto1713 thanks for the reply. I'm running 15" so I needed to trim it for sure. It didnt take much trimming. Thanks for the video! Is there a video of the engine swap?
@@Matt-df5fe I'm sure he is gonna want to go lower so its not money wasted anyways, and spindles are a good investment cause you can have more travel in your suspension instead of sitting on bumpstops with a shorter coil
