I am so happy I found your video. I have an 08' powerstroke with an h&s. I've had the tuner for 10 years trouble free. I had a hard start (low batteries) issue about 6 months ago and have had abs, engine and battery light on ever since. I tried changing alternator, no luck. It didn't effect performance so.... Today I returned the truck to stock and attempted to restore stock tune. Programer was unable to read vin. I hooked a scanner and got a U0073 code. Scanner can't see PCM, TCM, 4x4, or abs modules. Truck runs great, just can't return it to stock and I need to.

I don’t like the rocker arms because they wear out. The arp studs are torqued to 275lb ft instead of 215 so you have more clamping power which is a plus. The turbos seem to fail on them more than the 6.0’s. The engines are pretty close. It’s like brother and sister. Once they get updated and gone through they can be pretty decent engines. I still prefer 6.0 over 6.4.

Just ran into an issue with my 6.4...turn the key and I get nothing. It powers up (guages,headlights-tail lights.) Wont crank. Please help. FYI, has a DashDaq XL tuner installed.

I have a 6.4 high power low boost. All the sensor have been changed out and engine has been rebuilt. I have looked for exhaust leak . No leaks back pressure sensor replaced. Thanks you for your help

Great video I am the one with a h&s tuner an having the no start issue but only thing with the sensors i dont have holes to plug them back in only time i have this issue is when it rains?

Josh I always enjoy your videos thanks for posting. I would hate to see the bill for the repair and you have to factor all the money he spent on the tuner too.

I've got a similar problem with my truck. It's a 6.4 with black maxx. I recently had a gear change. They replaced the mass airflow sensor as well. Had someone to come refresh it and now in a limp in mode. I bought an ezlynk to replace the mini maxx. I understand the problem with the tuner swap bit should the tuner been set back to stock and unplugged, reflashed the pcm with air sensor, then retune it? Should a new tuner been a nessity? Thx

I know this video was uploaded 4 years ago and you may not remember everything but my question is, the pats module was not read by the computer. I connected my program and it didn’t catch the pats either, however the theft was flashing and I have no communication with the cluster.

6.0Doctor I have an 08 6.4 powerstroke. I just recently got the truck. Drove it a week and didn't have a minutes worth of trouble. Couple of days ago I took my son to school, came back to the truck, started it put it in drive and it died. Sat a minute, started it back, drove home fine. Go to get back in it a hour or so later and started it. Went up the road and the traction control light flashed then abs,then check brake system and the truck went into limp mode. Brought it home and cut it off went to start it back and NOTHING. Wont crank won't do anything. The theft light pops on along with every other light that they put in them. It does have an h&s mini maxx tuner but the screen is blacked out and I can't read codes. I bought a cheap scan reader at auto zone and it reads u0155 and u0073 and p1260 .Any help would be greatly appreciated because I have looked non stop for a reason for it doing this and can't come up with anything.

Hey there , I have had a similar issue on my 6.7 it would randomly die , throw every code on the dash possible , turned out to be (loose PCM connection , I wiggled the plug and put some di electric grease on the PCM plugs and fixed!, still have to find a long term solution as it the plug is most likely loose and messing with my battery voltage tuner ect.. , hope this helps , it was a real head scratcher.

So I've come to the point of a cooked pcm. Getting a tow to Ford is not in the cards. If I order new pcm. Install it. Get a mobile lock smith to come flash new keys. In theory I should be up and running again. Correct?

Hello I just saw your video and I’m having one of those problems I recently did a egr delete and tuner on a 6.4L 08 after all the installation everything when great test drove truck after parking the truck next day it was dead no crank no start no dash lights no power to ignition switch any clue for me I’m lost thanks

One question ,, my 2010 f250 6.4,, is been giving me a problem ,, with the oil pressure sensor, and i dnt know why,, right after i took it out of dealership shop , the oil indicator light came on+ lots of white smoke coming out of exhaust, 🤔🤔🤔,, i went a head and bought the new sensor ,,and install it,,, the map+AIR intake temperature sensor as well m i also changed the turbos for a set of rebuilt turbos ,, then took truck for a ride,, and 15 minutes afteri got the same oil indicator light back on again+ P179A code i know the code is turbo actuartor related ,,

Just got a 08 6.4 f450. Says it's cleaning exhaust. Took it to get diagnostic and it say to reprogram the pcm.

Would the lack of communication between my PCM and my obd2 port cause my low pressure fuel pump to not get power? I'm stuck. I overhauled the motor. Now it turns over but no communication with obd2 and no power to low pressure fuel pump.

Hey man. I have a 6.4 that is in anti theft. The motor was pressure washed and now it's a no crank. No communication to pcm either. I don't know where to start on this 08'

It just needed new keys and anti theft to be reprogrammed

Hi my truck is as you described and it will not start code reads lost communication with tcm and I did have the sensor unplugged I plugged them back in and wrench light turned off. I reset the tunner to stock truck runs but once I turn off it won’t let me restart. What can I do at this point?

Hello josh I have the sct tunner live wire plus anyway here is the problem I just bought this 2010 f250 6.4 with it in it and oh no I messed with tunner put it back stock now when I turn the key all lights light up but want turn over to start was told ford had to reflash stock so I do still nothing is t because of the deletes or does have to be retuned to start any help would be awesome I really need my truck back

I have 2009 F2 50 I did EGR delete and DPF delete then I put the programmer on try to download the programmer or/tuner and it froze on put key to on position do not start vehicle and I don’t even click or turn over the starter or anything just dead What would you recommend for me to do

How many power n grounds on pcm ?? just to be on the safe side I got one that can communicate with my IDS. Same tuner as well mini Max. Would you be able to help me on this one

Where can I find the troubleshooting procedures for determining if the other computers are communicating? Iv got the same problem and had a mini maxx but don’t want to replace the PCM if it’s something else

So I have a 6.4 dpf and egr cooler delete and have a patriot tuner..the idle goes up to almost 2k rpms and gas pedal does nothing any ideas?

6.0Doctor, I am working on a 08 6.4 with full delete. No crank no start? When I first got to the truck was able to use starter jumper to get the truck to start. It has a mini maxx tuner. i retrieved codes with IDS. I only had codes for deleted components. after further diagnostics retrieved codes u0140-60(IC) lost communication with (BCM) . KOEO PATS with same code replaced SJB. with no change. replaced PCM now i have no HS-Can I can connect but i can not run any self tests.

Sir Josh, we rebuilt our 6.4, pit all back together and now we have a P0232 code. Installed a Gearbox tuner, DPF and ERG delete. Truck starts and then stalls out, feels like an 6.0 low fuel pump pressure issue we had in a different truck, Hot wired the low pressure fuel pump in order to move the truck under its own power, but its going nowhere or should I say...going short distances. What do you suggest?

I just bought a SCT tuner for my 6.4. When programming the vehicle the SCT said unauthorized. I called tech support and they said I would need to get the PCM flashed to stock because it has a tune on it. Crazy cause when I bought the truck it looked stock, the DPF and EGR are still on the truck! How much would it be to get it flashed to stock?

08 f350 6.4. Having an issue with no communication to the abs module. I’ve checked all the powers and grounds on the truck as well as the module, all network wires on module seem good, only thing I can think of left is the pcm. Sound right to you?

Nick Goldstein pcm usually wouldn’t cause no communication to abs. Abs module could be bad or connections could be bad. I would check all fuses and pull abs module apart

Already tried a known good test abs module. Everything checks good going in and out of the module all communication wires, all power and grounds, yet I still have no communication

Update: ended up finding 4 pins that were just a smidge loose. Tightened them up, communicated with test module. Plugged into module on the truck to find that aside from having a few loose pins on the connector I also had a bad abs module. Truck is fixed now with no issues

Nick Goldstein so I was right about the bad module and checking all wires, grounds, and fuses. Saved you money on pcm.

Hey josh I need some help here. I own a 6.0 it’s all stock except for 4in exhaust turbo back. When I’m at a stop and accelerate normally (when towing and normal driving) it blows white smoke. It’s probably not the egr I just had it replaced at ford a couple months back. And it also makes that tea kettle whistle noise from the cap. I took it to a shop and he said it might be the heads but the truck runs perfectly fine and has plenty of Power if you could give me an idea on what it is that’d be great!! Thanks again !!

Gaspar Calderon a turbo that’s leaking oil will cause white smoke on take off and not smoke until you got from idle to excel.

6.0Doctor that’s what the tech told me and he checked the turbo down pipe real quick and he said it looked normal plus my boost is fine so I’m not sure. He said it was hard to find out he’s probably have to open it . I have to be honest it might be the heads my coolant cap does leak and I do lose coolant and yes I have the correct cap oem

Hi I have a 2010 F 450 6.4 and want crank. Checked the fuse all are ok. It says that their is lost commcation to TCM. Where and hoe to fix

I have 6.0 and it starts and stalls 3 time then runs fine.all looks good ficm48 icp .14 to .32 at crank 3500 psi it's like a start rev hi stall it does this 3 time then runs fine and if colder days come it won't start try to but no start tell warms up new censors and pump I'm stump the only thing I can see is that my tuner will not marry or connect to ecm/pcm to cancel the egr that's all I got the tuner for have no codes. The injectors are spotty but goes away before they stop. Would it be ficm or ecm/pcm blue smoke at start up goes way need help please

How about the Edge Insight (monitor, not tuner) on a 05 6.0? Recently the reading on the edge (when/if it starts up) are all erratic and random, then maybe settle down later on. And at times it won't recognize that the keys on when I have to pull the data plug and "reset" it to get it to come on. It'll try like 6 different comm systems then just say you have to have the key on, meanwhile it's running and I'm enjoying the a/c while it's failing. So far no driveability issues that I can think of, but I've had it once say there was an issue reading the fuel gauge and the needle was pegged at empty. Tonight I have between 3/4 to a full tank and it read pegged empty (without the error message) almost the whole way home from work ( about 4 mi.) Then it just appeared where it belonged. Edge insight, with the egt sensor and universal input addons, sct x4.

I changed the fuel bomb in the bombing of rejection and then an injector is not a problem I change something for Lulu I don't know what his name can check this 46 for 6.4

Im having a no crank , no start on my 2010 6.4. I have also have two codes.p0646 and p008D could these be related to a bad PCM? Also i do have a H&S mini maxx turner.

I have no FICM SYNC, and I checked the CMP and CRANK sensor. Have signal. I did a resistance test and the cam = 384 ohm. crank = 839

Will your tear tag # be the same after you swap the pcm? Just curious how you get the truck specific data into the new pcm. Thanks

if you install a new pcm and flash the pcm to the truck, the tear tag will be same. it pulls the as built files from the network. if It ask for tear tag info I have access to motorcraft oasis for vin specific info. the oasis gives me tear tag numbers and as built info.

no files are stored on the ford network through the IDS software.

Hi Josh I’m Joe I was wondering the software that u are using for the 6.4 pcm issues is that ford proprietary software as my pcm isn’t communicating and I’m trying to make sure what it is if it’s pcm or the PATs isn’t working

H&s is the worst. Go with sct, hp tuners or even bench flash it.

I have a 07 6.0 when it get hot outside the truck will shut off at idle and will not crank and no communication to the ecm open the hood for 5 mins start right up can you help me out thanks

thewolf1633 it could be just a bad pcm. The pcm’s and ficm’s on these trucks was a bad design because when aluminum gets hot it will expand causing the circuit board inside to stretch. That’s why ficm’s failed because of the heat and the boards coming unsoldered. In 08 they tried to fix that issue by putting them in the firewall to keep them away from heat. fixed that issue. They had less failures. I had a truck at my shop that had the same issue. I changed the computer out and no more problems.

Hello my friend 6,0doctor 2008 6,4L was riding with car lit all the drivers from the panel i turned off the car no longer starts it is locked the lock is flashing the machines that are making the scanner or dignoso do not communicate with the pcm or car module,what do i do help me please,name Carlos country Angola

Got a guru attached to my 08 F-350, start it put it in drive and wont come out of 3rd. Reverse nutral all work but wont shift out of 3rd. Just bought the truck. Here is what i know. They installed a push start because i think the ignition switch is bad, checked 10amp tcm and it was blown. Put in a new one cleared codes. No change. Any thoughts? Also no tuner installed egr and dps exhaust still intact

I would try reflash. After 3rd is direct clutch. Could be the tranny as well. If I hooked up a computer to it I can command it into the gear I want. I would do that first to test that to make sure the tranny is working correctly before anything else.

OEM check connectors on driver side. If everything is connected then get a new pcm.

OEM under the driver side degas bottle there are 2 big connectors located by the abs module. Check the connections on those connectors.
