Great video! I love real life, long distance expansion tests, so this video knocked it out of the park for me! The only way it could have been better was if you had shared the velocity, elevation and atmospheric conditions... and if it had been a short barreled 308. 😊 Take care and Happy (belated) Canada Day!
Finally a shooting video like from years back.............Hope you n your family are doing well Dave.... ammo in the US is crazy priced if your can find it plus primers, powder n projectiles most everyone is out..........
The ammo prices and shortages are hitting Canada too, I picked a poor time to start reloading for a new caliber! LOL I am glad you enjoyed the video, there will be more of these ammo tests coming over the summer/fall so stay tuned. Thanks for watching!
GMX are the hardest of the expanding monolithics. I'm surprised it opened at all from 500 with a creedmore. None of the copper solids are renowned for their accuracy
@@CanadianRedneck15 I was messing with 70 grainers in 223 yesterday, that's why I was watching. From what I can tell, your jump affects your accuracy more than your powder charge. I got my best accuracy 24gr of rl15 but it only got me to 2400fps, which was way below any published data. However, when I shot gel, I got what I would consider ideal expansion at right around that velocity. I got my best speed with TAC at about 2750 with 24.5grs, but it was shedding petals. I guess it's whatever you want, but I think I'm going to keep trying for a good load somewhere around 2500fps. Stay blessed
