Can't assume anything! In an Allison training class I took many years ago they claimed a tablespoon of ethylene glycol was enough to deteriorate the glue in clutch friction material enough for it fail rapidly. In my experience, they were right. Thought step one for 95% of transmission issues was to check fluid. Keep the content coming, I really enjoy watching.
100% agree. In retro I’m glad I diag’d it this way, I was able to verify low fluid was causing the flair from second to first and the static slip/ratio error. The coolant in the gear box is one of the two reasons I want to bow out at this point. Appreciate your insight and thoughts.
I could have saved some effort had I checked fluid from the get go but the hood shocks were both bad, def was low and fuel was on empty. It was either burn down garage, go home and watch Star Trek or just go test drive. Less effort to drive, lol
