This is absolutely inane drivel. When I worked as a waiter I’d never refuse a tip, you did a great service they enjoyed the conversation. Let them pay you.

I personally did not believe just taking an order was worth what it was I received. I valued the relationship I was beginning to form more than just a simple one time experience. What I did vs taking the money is just preference. I simply wanted to highlight another way of thinking in this discussion

Great advice! My dad taught me the importance of reducing the junk in your life, both material and time wise. My mom taught me how to enjoy the occasional treats. That reminds me I need to make some calls...

Incredible! Everything is about balance. Oreos are a great very occasional treat, but is not needed every time. Great advice you were taught. Thank you for reaching out!

That is a cute story about refusing a tip as a high school student. What about the single mom or three kids working a second job to buy food. Please don’t promote this.

I certainly was not in a situation like that. I simply made that point regarding the benefit as the consumer to provide value to the person receiving the tip. Instead of complaining about the tipping situation getting out of hand to try to provide a solution. In the case I am making it would help even more in the situation of the mom of three as you would then tip more but knowing the reason. Thank you for reaching out.

I just worry that some one hears what you promoted and says I gave them good conversation that’s enough, last guy told me he didn’t want the tip. It’s like when the large mechanic shop charges half market rate to pull business away from the local guy who does better work. Under cutting everyone else.

@@danielford2369 I 100% see what you’re saying. That is not my intention and maybe I did not articulate it enough. I was trying to describe instead of just trying get through the situation as quickly as possible and then get upset by the digital tip to just slow down and spark a conversation to where you see why you should tip them that. I think a lot of places where you can get food appears much easier than it is so when it comes time to tip we feel like “I could’ve just done that” But when we actually try to have a conversation that is more than just the basic stuff we will see why it is we are tipping that. I just described myself not accepting the tip as a way to show how much value a good conversation brings on the side of the waiter, which some people just don’t know that side of things. I appreciate your concern and allowing for this to be described more in depth!

For sure man! I look forward to following you more, just providing a different perspective. Would be an interesting further video idea on tipping culture.

I've done the opposite I feel like working 2 full time jobs is the best thing for me. And while I use the money wisely, I'm actually planning on working even more Eating out, when I bought a burger out of McDonald's and forget the health consequences. I enjoyed that burger so much that it was worth well more than the 4 dollars I spent on it. And I think buying things that are worth more than I pay for them as far as the value I get out of them is what I need to keep doing moving forward

In another video you posted i wrote about how i see young people at the coffee shops. $6 dollar coffee. I get one of those maybe 2 times a month. Or never. Beans and rice. Make your own they will taste better.

Absolutely! Wild how much gets spent on coffee. Thankfully I can’t process caffeine well so my vice just turned into Oreos haha. I really appreciate you sharing this! I hope all is well

Thank you Lee! I am really glad you enjoyed it! Isn’t that crazy! I can’t even imagine what all that could be. I think comparing it to time really helps the meaning. It’s not about being cheap just about intention! Great talking with you again! And thank you for your kind words

I mostly struggle with the food in the sense that eating really feels like a chore. Would be easier if they just made an all in one food like soylent green or that prison paste from andor
