The Chelsea Shed was the Home end of Chelsea until 1994 when it was demolished.
During the 60s, 70s & 80s attempting to 'take' the shed was common place, but which firms did and which firms didn't.
This video will reveal all.

I followed Chelsea from 74 till 84, the golden years. The only time I saw them come off worse was against West Ham. Didn't see them against Millwall but they got the better of Chelsea as well, from what I heard. Millwall didn't have the numbers but pound for pound they were / are the worst. Total nutters.

Well at the Den you never turned up several times. Nobody wore shirts back then just odd scarf and hat. Also no segregation of support. I remember watching Millwall from the Chelsea shed. The only way you ever hurt Millwall was by signing Keith Weller from us.West Ham’s always been the big one.

I went to the Den 76-77 with a tube load and went in the CBL at 1.00 to 1.15. After a fight, we had to leave via the pitch and went into the Ilderton road end but heavily outnumbered Millwall got the better there, too. Then the main Chelsea lot came in The CBL just above the players tunnel. Me and my few mates and we went back to the CBL via going behind the seats. Stayed there with all other Chelsea fans until 10 mins from the end, and we all left at 0-3 down.

Very honest video mate, yes man utd in late 60s early 70s were the ones that started all the end taking. They took north and southbank at upton park in may 67 and won the league. West hams mobs back then (bethnal green, canning town and mile end) were quite a bit older than average shed boys and believe me that mattered back then, also east end was still a very tough area. I have an old 'hammer' programme which ŕeports on trouble at Upton park v Chelsea first game of the season 1966! (and first match since world cup final) i think Chelsea tried to take the northbank that day, and the away fixture at stamford bridge (the match result that day was 5-5) ....was the first recorded trouble between fans in the shed end, which continued up to late 70s/early 80s. Arsenal ? Was that the yellow paint incident i thought that was earlier than 73? What an impressive end the Shed was though when it was full, i think any fan back in the day would admit that.

@@fredericklee6899 i was at the October 75 game (2-1 West ham ) man u had got promoted season before and the game was held up for half an hour due to a crush in the southbank. Man u had most of it (no segregation back then) and a couple hundred west ham who were locked out lifted up the wooden gates and rushed in, leading to a huge ruck and a gap formed full of OB which caused an overspill onto the pitch. Whenever we played them after that it was all ticket and OB started putting away fans Into southwest corner and separated from home fans. More away fans started coming to Upton park after fences went up in 80s. Good times back then gone forever.

(I wasn't allowed to go as it was a school night and I was 9yrs old) my old man and 2 uncles took my older brother, it was the only time they got back early from a match, they said Celtic were everywhere in ground thousands of the green and white, all well pissed and looking for a tear up! The coppers couldn't cope with them. My brotherr was sat on my uncles shoulders in the bottom corner of the Northbank and said a load of Celtic gathered behind them,, and were joined by more climbing in from the west stand terracing, he said this huge blonde geezer pulled on a crash helmet and screamed " where's ya fekkin boot boys?" And they all charged into the northbank windmilling and scattering everyone! .... we still shout that to each other to this day 😂, .....Celtic fans were still drinking around the pubs and in doorways days later apparently! I was at that game, it was Dec 27 1977/78 season, west ham went in the shed from both sides, Chelsea attacked the mob on their right and when they came back in to the shed it went off big time with a larger mob of mile end that moved in from the other side. They eventually got shepherded across the pitch (before kick off) but were joined by west ham running on from away end (north stand). They decided to have one last attempt and charged back towards the shed from near halfway line but OB kept both sets of fans apart. Great days, I remember getting home and it was on the ITV news, also showed Spurs at Millwall kicking off after the game! Great memories

Leeds brought thousands and also had a good go at the Shed End, well over 30,000 that game and loads of northern monkeys in the Shed End No one 'takes' the home end, just gotta call out the teams that came and had a good go. The coppers couldn't cope with them. My brotherr was sat on my uncles shoulders in the bottom corner of Northbank and said a load of Celtic gathered, and were joined by more climbing in from the west stand terracing, he said this huge blonde geezer pulled on a crash helmet and screamed " where's ya fekkin boot boys?" And they charged into the northbank scattering everyone! .... we still shout that to each other to this day 😂, .....Celtic fans were still drinking around the pubs and in doorways days later apparently!
