Great practical demonstrations of module theory. The feedback loop on the filter is a great idea for 12db/ octave filters. Well done!

I finally got round to watching this and learned the snappy envelope trick, for my Phenol I build a little passive vactrol VCA box to give me plucky sounds. I use the adder for both positive and negative panning voltages as then the adder knob gives you controlable stereo width as well.

Some great tips there, including several things I'd never thought about (the Phenol is so versatile). Even after trying many other things, the Phenol is still my all-time favourite synth. I've got two, but I am considering getting a third one...

Picked one of these up recently, I'm really impressed with how good audio feedback (and really audio output in general) sounds considering the mixer section is digital according to the Kilpatrick site. If it was a problem I could easily rout the audio to a Eurorack output module for recording (and nobody would notice the difference live) so that wasn't a deal breaker for me but I haven't heard anything so far that would make me even consider bothering to do that.

Yeah, I also don‘t care about analog/digital. If I like a sound, it doesn‘t matter if it was produced by a computer or analog music circuitry :)

I bought them from a eBay a few years ago. They were cheap but indeed well made. I don’t have the link any more, sorry :-/

Hallo! Einen tollen Channel hast du! Ganz blöde Frage: Ich hab den 0-Coast jetzt seit 1 1/2 Jahren und möchte aber umsteigen, da er mir zu wenig Möglichkeiten bietet. Jetzt stehe ich vor der Wahl: Phenol oder gleich das AE Modular Rack 2? Mache Ambient und habe auch noch andere analoge und digitale Synths daheim. Habe mir schon viele Videos angsehen, vom Grundsound sagen mir beide Systeme zu. Natürlich ist der Ae Modular sehr viel erweiterbarer. Lg Martin

Hey :) Ich glaube auch dass es an der Erweiterbarkeit hängt. Wenn dir die wichtig ist, dann ist AE Modular die richtige Wahl. Wenn du eher ein vorgefertigtes Instruments möchtest, dann evtl. eher der Phenol. Ich hab mit dem 0-Coast noch nicht gearbeitet, aber ich weiß nicht ob der Phenol da „mehr“ bietet ... ist eher etwas „anderes“.

:D hmmm ... I think sound is very subjective. The Tinysizer has more of a classic analog sound, whereas the Phenol combines analog and digital sounds into more of a raw or dirty sound.
