+Genshi Media Group Do you still have your Phenol? Like it? Thinking of picking one up this week. What's the process of getting it to work with other modular gear? I'm wondering if the CV ins and outs will work with my Roland System 1m?

+Daniel Davis I do still have it and I love it! It is very unique and has it's own sound. It occasionally is a bit, not confusing but rather, slow to get the sound I want only because the Envelopes are a bit different than a traditional synth... but once I get it dialed in, it's great! As for using with other/modular gear, you will need some sort of Banana Jack to 3.5mm convertor box with grounding. Low Gain Audio makes one, and I made my own (you can search my channel for a demo of it being used to sequence the Phenol from the Moog Mother-32.) Admittedly, I don't use my Phenol as much as I should; been distracted building up my Eurorack, but I am about to use them all together for a live performance, we'll see how that goes! (I do have a video from an ambient live performance I did with three Mother-32s and the Phenol from a couple of months back... went pretty well.)

+Genshi Media Group Very cool! I'm going to take a look at one on Wednesday, and will probably end up purchasing it for $700. I'd like to use it in tandem with my Analog Keys and/or Roland System 1m. Is that Low Gain Audio box the UTL-1? www.lowgain-audio.com/

Yeah, the voltages should be compatible with your Microbrute. You might want to order a set of our Minijack to Banana cables to make the connections easier.

They should be a bit closer... but we usually leave a bit of space as this works best for all the components that have to fit through the panel.

The distance between the knobs and the panel seems fine to me. Can't see why they should be any closer. The knobs feel great.

We have cable kits that allow full patching to Eurorack and other systems. For banana systems like Serge, Buchla, Fenix, etc. you can just use the included cables.

That's what I'm thinking. Wouldn't be surprised (although quite disappointed) if this ends up costing a grand.

I think it's gonna be something like $800. That's still pretty cheap for a synth with this much functionality.

Bone Alias Once again, that's still pretty cheap for something like this. Very similar functionality to an EMS VCS3 and those go for a mortgage on a house these days.

How you use it is entirely up to your imagination. If you're looking for something very flexible that sounds great then PHENOL is awesome. This video mostly shows the more "experimental" side.

Fair enough. :) Keep your eyes on our upcoming products in 2017... I think there will be some things that you will enjoy.

If you already make money from music, you could make money from this. If you don't make money from music, it won't necessarily help you make any. It's a musical instrument. Practical application doesn't really factor into the equation anywhere.
