Hey Rotem! I've always steered away from jazz because I thought it was too complex or too hard for an ocasional guitar player like me. I can still see that jazz is hard, but the way you explain it makes it less alien and I'm now slowly learning its fundamentals, while having loads of fun and expanding my musical vocabulary Thx for the inspiration, a lot!
I love this format. This makes it easier to learn these licks. And you 2 are having fun. So cool. And pretty much every line the one I preferred was jazz. Which is weird because I love blues.
Been playing 2 years, learning jazz for about 9 months both in person and through channels like this. Learning jazz from someone who knows his shit helps me understand how and why things go together, how the chords are built and extended, not seeing the fretboard as a series of boxes but a continuous flow of intervals, and hearing the phrasing. Even if I never become an adequate jazz playing guitarist, it has already vastly improved my rock and blues playing. So good! I would totally recommend starting jazz guitar early in their guitar studies. And yes, the jazz lines won it for me - though the blues lines were great!

Interested in why you so often play in key of C, Rotem. You will know that rock and roll players don't, unless their singer demands it, and of course famously Chuck Berry's tunes were arranged in C by his piano player Johnny Johnson; I play piano, and understand why!
Gosh I don't know; I habitually play in E, A, G and D because of my rock background. C is unusual for my er, tradition, for want of a better word. I am frankly just happy to try and learn from you, Rotem.✌️
I'm all about the combination of both! I've always been more of a blues guy but I really like the nuances and approaches of Jazz. I've started to incorporate some jazz lines on my playing here and there. I'm also on the fence about selling some of my gear, purchase a Jazzbox and really get into jazz ( I know jazz can be played on any guitar but I like the vibe of a jazzbox lol) but I need the gear that I have to make my RU-vid videos with and as a result, the Jazzbox has to wait a bit.
