I love to put on rubber armor in a storm, equip a bunch of metal, and then just run straight into an enemy camp

Here's a few: Elemental weapons provide temperature protection equivalent to lvl 1 protection when you have them equipped. You can also melt ice by standing next to it with a fire weapon equipped, it takes a while, but can save you resources. Use round bombs to lure Molduga. It is attracted to them when they roll across the sand and there's usually enough wind to keep them moving. Once it attacks them, set it off and it will land on the sand so you can attack. You can also safely walk across the sand by sneaking with stealth armor even when Molduga is nearby. If you have to wait for a while for something to happen, such as the shrine where you need a Bloodmoon, set up a campfire under cover. This way rain won't keep you from using it. Keep a fire weapon just for use as a 'lighter'. Sell your flint. Flameblades and rods are easily found. Especially after you get the flameguard armor with the upgrades. The same goes for ice wizrobes and the Snowquill armor, and electric wizrobes and the rubber armor. Once you have the immunity upgrades you are effectively invincible to wizrobes and can collect their wands with ease. Wizrobe wands are a great way to alter the plain chuchu jelly element. It's probably the most efficient way to do so in fact. Sneak armor works in the water too. You can use it to collect fish by simply swimming up to them and grabbing them. It's the most efficient fishing method in the game. You can teleport from anywhere. Use this to keep yourself from drowning or falling to your death if you run out of stamina. You can actually use it to avoid pretty much any death in a pinch, it even works inside shrines and dungeons. Ancient Armor is the best armor in the game. It is the highest rated defense of any set, provides extra protection from damage from ancient weapons and guardians, upgrading it increases the effectiveness of ancient and guardian weapons by 80%, and it stacks with damage boosting food. Additionally, ancient weapons have a damage bonus against Ancient enemies, which also stacks with the bonus for the Ancient Armor and food bonuses. Barbarian armor is only a 50% increase across all weapons, and does not stack with food or potion bonuses. Plus, you don't need to buy ancient weapons, just farm the Major Test of Strength shrines. They reset every bloodmoon. Bloodmoon frequency is based on how many enemies you've killed. If you need one for some reason, go monster hunting and kill a bunch of weaker enemies. Use weaker weapons against weaker monsters to save your durability on your good ones. You can usually just pick up whatever they are using to take care of them. You can deflect Octorock rocks back at them just by targeting them and blocking. Sometimes you need to position yourself a bit as it will go over them if you are too far away. You do not need to do a perfect block to do this, but it does wear down your shield. I recommend picking up weak shields for doing this if you have open slots to save your good ones. This does not work on the ones that suck stuff up and shoot exploding stones at you. Just lob a round bomb at those when they are sucking things up and set it off after they collect it. Land Octorocks are also easily dealt with. You can also hit them with their own rocks, but if you want to save your shield they hide underground when you get close to them. If you use a bladed weapon to cut off the bush on their head, they'll pop up and look around, giving you the opportunity to swat them. Also, you can tell which buried treasure chests are 'fake' octorock chests with magnesis. Legitimate chests turn red, octorock traps don't. The fastest way to make money later in the game is not to farm minigames, but instead is to farm Talus. They drop lots of gems and are easily killed once you have decent weapons. You can also use bombs to blow off their arms, making them easier to deal with and forcing them to dip down and expose their weak spot for an arrow shot or another bomb. The best way to hunt is not with arrows, but round bombs. You can often kill multiple animals at once, and it's far easier than lining up a bow shot. This is a great way to farm meat, particularly from wolves. You can pick up some smaller enemies. The Mini talus can be picked up. Hold them too long and they'll explode, but throwing them kills them. You can also pick up stal-monster heads and throw them. You can also use bombs to take out groups of the mini talus. Just drop a square one and move between it and them, and they'll shuffle right over to it, often letting you take out groups of four or five with one bomb. Hynox are a good source of precooked food and decent weapons. You can land on a Hynox and take the weapons before fighting it if you're careful and sneak. Using stealth armor helps with this. The best places to farm Lynels is north of Death Mountain and West of the Gut Check shrine. There are three white ones, one of each weapon type, along the road beyond the large ancient skeleton [where you should go to get Dinraal parts]. You do not need armor with fire, heat, or cold resistance to be in this area. Hyrule Castle is also a good spot, there are two, a Silver and a White one spawn in the guardhouses. Silver Lynels occasionally drop star pieces and five shot bows. Not frequently, but it's often enough that it's a good way to get them for upgrading armor. Multi shot bows only use one arrow, don't be afraid to use them because they don't eat up ammo any faster than any other bow. Vah Neboris's dungeon reward, Urbosa's Fury, is extremely useful for fighting giant enemies such as Lynels, Hynoxes, and Stalinox. Revali's Gale, obtained from Vah Medho, makes traversal much less of a pain, particularly in the rain. I recommend bringing down these two Divine Beasts first, Revali's Gale in particular. Mipha's power is the second most useless, because you can gather up to eleven faries. The trick is to hold the ones in your inventory them when you approach the Great Fairy fountains. As long as you're holding less than three in your inventory, four will usually spawn. If you have four or more, none will spawn. It's best to have seven when you visit the last fountain, so leave some fairies behind if need be to do this. Wearing stealth armor makes them easier to catch. Daruk's power is mostly useless as it slows you down when blocking, and is just a free hit. I usually disable it. You can go to Hyrule Castle at any time. There is nothing keeping you out beyond the difficulty of the enemies. It's a good spot to farm resources once you're strong enough, Moblin Parts, LIzalfo tails, Lynels, and ancient parts from the turrets. You don't have to enter the final room when there and can leave any time. It's also the location of one of the Major Test of Strength shrines and has lots of royal weapons. Be sure to fully exploit the castle as soon as you're strong enough. It is worth making ancient bows and arrows. The Ancient Bow with upgraded Ancient Armor is the most powerful bow in the game. Pretty much any of the other ancient stuff you can make is pretty much a waste of resources given how you can farm the shrines for them. The ancient shields are kind of nice too, but the ones you get from the major tests of strength are good enough for general use and are pretty durable. In fact, all Ancient and Guardian weapons have a high durability.

When a mounted creature is coming after you, stasis him. The horse will keep running, leaving the monster frozen in midair.

i got to a shrine that was covered in ice and i had no fire arrows left or a fire weapon, so i dropped a few red chu chu jellys by the ice, shot them with an arrow, and it set off a huge fire and the thing unfroze. i felt like a legend xD this was before i saw anyone else do that

Something people may not realize: the thunder helm protects Link, but ONLY Link. If you are on a horse and get struck you will be fine but it will cause damage to your horse :(

If you want to avoid accidentally talking to a member of the YIGA CLAN, first go up to them close, you may notice they have distinct eyebrows that almost appear to be glaring at you (like they're imagining killing you already) and also if no name appears or their name is 'traveler' that is a sure sign you should run or prepare to fight!

The most annoying pieces of sh*t in this game are the octoroks especially during that island trial

Things that people might not know. - You can skip the blood moon cutscene. - You can cancel your charge special attack or bow aim by pressing B. - If you talk to some NPC wearing a monster mask, you might get a different dialogue. - Certain characters` diaries might have additional page stories after some events. - You can take pictures of weapons that NPCs are carrying. - You can quickly throw your weapon by choosing the weapon through the quick menu and pressing R to aim and throw it away. - If you hear a shiny noise when you are near a dropped weapon, it means that the weapon has special bonus stats/attributes.

Not so sure if this counts as a tip, but buy the house in Hateno and fill it with mounts ASAP so you can start storing items. There were weapons that I wanted to save for specific enemies, but it was becoming increasingly difficult to do so before buying the house. Honestly, I felt it was necessary anyway since Link really didn't have anywhere to call home after 100 years of healing and all. Either way, I found it helpful. I hope you do too.

Here's a few tips for those who have the Thunder Helm-- you can use it to your advantage in combat by getting close to an enemy when you're about to be struck by lightning, and it will deal damage. This especially works with airborne enemies. Also, *DO NOT* ride your horse with the Thunder Helm. There isn't a Thunder Bridle. I learned this the hard way...

Tip #1; Earn Urbosa's fury. Win.

HOW TO CHUMP SILVER ENEMIES USING MINIMAL WEAPON DURABILITY: 1. Have a frost weapon and a thunder weapon. 2. Freeze them with the frost weapon. 3. Switch to thunder weapon. Hit them while frozen for triple damage. 4. While they're stunned from the thunder, switch to frost weapon, repeat from step 2. This also works for arrows I believe.

After every blood moon, you can go through the path up to Zoras' Domain lizalfos are farm more than 100 arrows. If you have the lizalfo mask and a strong weapon, it makes killing them all very easy.

you can also use yellow chu chu jelly to solve lightning puzzles.

Razorshroom + Mighty Porgy + Mighty Carp + Razorclaw Crab + Monster extract = Max Attack for a whopping 30 minutes... Combined with the right weapon you can take down a Lynel with a single charged attack. You can do the same with the Defense based counterparts for each ingredient Ironshroom + Armored Porgy + Armored Carp + Ironshell crab + Monster Extract = Max Defense for a whopping 30 Minutes... almost any attack will only take a quarter heart.

You can throw a metal weapon at enemies just before lighting strikes as an attack. Boomerangs work best if you have good timing. If you don't have zora armour you can use cryonis to make steps on waterfalls. You can parry guardian lasers if you have good timing and it doesn't damage your shield if you're successful (so you can potentially use a pot lid to beat a guardian) You can destroy flying guardians by hitting the propellers. *spoilers* You can disable the champion abilities in he item menu if you want a challenge or you eat to save Daruk's protection for something other than the first ocktorok you come across. You can use the twilight bow from the smash Zelda amiibo instead of the bow of light in the final boss fight.

I found that bombing trees is very effective to gathering wood, especially if you're doing the From the Ground Up quest. One bomb fells the tree and another produces wood. I find it a time saver to searching the stables for axes. Also since I haven't found double bladed axes very often

The octoroks that you find on the Goron path... the ones that suck in air before attacking... throw a rusty weapon at them... they'll suck it right up and spit it out good as new!!!

I farm dragon horns by waiting until night on the tower at the bridge of hylia, waiting for the dragon to come by, then fast travel to tabantha bridge and waiting for the fire dragon to fly past, then fast travel to mount Lanayru and paragliding off the summit to the East towards the ocean where you see the last dragon. That way you can get 3 different horn shards in one night. If you're fast you can fast travel back to lake hylia and occasionally the first dragon will appear again if it's still night time.

Dragon parts also can be sold at a high price. For example horn shards can be sold at 300 rupees.

don't know if it was on any other video but you can take a picture of a treasure chest and seek it with the sensor

I got a neato tip: If you look through the Camera rune, you can run without being hindered by sand or snow. It's a good alternative if you don't have the proper boots, just as long as you don't mind playing in first person.

*Tip* Gems Fall when on water so don't kill any silver enemies on Water

It's helpful to look in stables for there are recipes for various dishes on the walls. It's great to use these for stocking up on food to fight tough opponents

Don't dye entire outfits at once to mix colours. So simple, but a lot of people miss this and have entirely green Links. Try white trousers for a kind of OoT palette. My personal fave was white top/hood and red or crimson trousers - AC Link!

Equipping a fire weapon or ice weapon will change your body temperature

On the chuchu jelly, you can also drop them in any fire for red jelly. Alternatively you can get yellow chuchu jelly in a lightning storm by dropping any metal weapon or shield, then drop the jelly by it( or viceversa, if you want to play it safe) Also note that the jellies will fly out when struck by lightining.

this might seem kinda dumb but revali's gale can levitate certain objects if you hold it down without letting go. it doesn't have many uses that i have found but its still funny to shoot bombs in the air, cancel the jump and then freeze the bomb at head hight with stasis.

haven't yet tried it in a fire area like Death Mountain but in a really cold area like in the hebra mountains when it's so cold you need to wear two items of clothing that will give you cold resistance all you really need is one and a flame weapon it comes in handy since my cold resistance armor isn't as good as other armor I could use one cold resistant armor and carry a flame spear I really want to try carrying a ice weapon around Death Mountain I hope it works

You can freeze fish with a ice weapon and they give you heat resistance, though just for a little moment

WARNING, SOMEWHAT SPOILERS FOR HYRULE CASTLE so if you go to the big pillar at the east and paraglide across to hyrule castle, there's some waterfalls for you to swim up, and once you finally get to all of the guardians, just run like hell and use your statsis rune, a lot, and after a few minutes you'll be at ganon

Some of my favorite mechanics is paragliding before you hit the ground to prevent fall damage. Running up mountains, whistle running, things that help me progress fast and easier.

If you buy monster elixir from Kilton and make a meal with it using strong enough components , you can get 30-minute status effects, as well.

some speedrun basic knowledge : you can use shieldsurfing for a double jump ( if you jump of a ledge) Can be usefull at shrines but you can use it at the overworld aswell. That's something i would wanted to know if i had begun the game :D

You should know that you can drop bombs while gliding. Just have the rune set and hit L while in the air it just appers and falls. Real nice to rain down death to clear out a camp

I found out that you can cook a fairy

Most of you probably know this but- When you’re fighting Vah Ruta, you can break the ice blocks and spikes with cryonis. Same with the boss inside (I forgot the name)

The chuchu jelly changing thing I found out on my own. Which wasn't hard since it was pretty much stated by its description in the material menus about changing it with "elemental stimulation". That said, I never really tapped into the ways in which the jelly can actually be useful. I pretty much just dropped the jellies into campfires at stables to turn them red and then sold them to Beedle since the elemental jellies have twice the value in Rupees of the basic jellies. Ten rupees per jelly (vs. 5) can actually add up to quite a bit if you have a lot of them and are desperate for money.

When fighting Lynels use Stasis+, shoot an arrow into it's face to stun it, then run up to it and do a mount attack. Weapons don't degrade from mounted attacks so with this method it's possible to kill lynels with only a few arrows and still have a brand new weapon by the end (plus that loot from the spoils)!

if you don't have the good clothing in desert, you can equip an ice weapon (if you have one). it cools down the temperature. it does the same for cold places with fire weapons.

you can ride a Lynel and damage him in the process. Also, getting the master sword should be your #1 priority... Just sayin

when you equip ice or fire weapons they will heat you up or cool you down this includes rods.

Couple things to add to this video, first off equipping fire or ice element weapons is another really good way to manage your temperature in the game. You can also create really short term "chilly" food items by dropping meat or fish in freezing water or extremely cold places. Regarding the thunder helm, it's important to know that you have to free Vah Naboris first and then interact with the Thunder Helm itself in Riju's throne room to make the Gerudo town side quests start showing up.

Chu Chu jelly activates no matter who hits it, so I really recommend stocking up on Red Chu Chu jelly, it's easier to come by than flint, and it works just the same, perfect for campfires. It also doesn't require a metal object to ignite, so it's much more useful.

Equipping a frost weapon helps you resist heat as well.

Every time you tell a horse to sprint if you soothe it after it will brings it affection up. That's a really good way to get maximum bond quickly

Tip: The master sword will light up anytime you are near a guardian (even flying scouts). This is a really useful way to tell if a guardian is 'dead' or not! Note: This won't work in Hyrule Castle because your sword is constantly glowing there, so stay vigilant!

Am I the only one who finds Lynels super easy to defeat? I've already defeated like 7 of them and, if you know the correct time to perform a flurry rush, you can kill them super easily

You can jump out of any attack aside from the ground pound. Just backflip / sidestep as you'd normally do. Also, if you have a bow equipped, you can't do a backflip. It does more of a light step back, which doesn't dodge as many attacks, and can't trigger flurry rush.

There’s a few things I would like to criticize. One. Cooking with dragon parts has a chance to greatly increase 1 of 3 things. The effectiveness of a dish, the health gained, or the duration. Another thing is, when you cook with dragon horns or star fragments, you do get that great critical cooking effect, but your missing out on a slot for another ingredient. To avoid this, cook food on the night a blood moon happens to get the critical cooking effect for free, (blood moons can only be forced by inducing a panic blood moon through glitching. They will occur naturally every three hours of time spent playing the game, this excludes loading screens, your inventory menu, and your map. After 162 minutes of playing, the game will try to spawn a blood moon the next night. Another thing is that blood moons do not respawn items like apples or durians or any other natural collectible. The map is divided into 80 different squares in an eight by ten formation. Every five minutes of time playing the game (excluding the things I already mentioned) one square will respawn it’s materials. Being in a square or any of the adjacent ones will stop that square from being replenished. One last thing, this isn’t a criticism, it’s more of a PSA. You can not buy the hylian shield from Dante until after you have naturally acquired it.

Many people know that you can pose in the camera by using the left stick, BUT, there is two other poses you get if you hold the ZL button then use the left stick, a salute/look into sky (most likely the latter) and one where link looks pissed off

Unless it was changed at some point. The Thunder Helm does not prevent electricity damage. It only makes you Immune to thunder strikes.

You can use a shield as a double jump. Real helpful if you come across a big gap or if you're speed running. Simply jump and then take out your shield and press A as if you are shield surfing and then unequip the shield to quit shield surfing

Btw if u wear the thunder helm and ride a horse...ur not fully immune. Yea my horse got struck with lightning and i was thrown of a cliff just as a keese swarm dived down and killed my horse😭

As someone who has yet to get into the game, these tips are something I really appreciate.

You forget the death mountain octorock trick. If you drop a rusty weapon near one it'll suck the weapon up and turn it back into it's true polished form.

Few things. When farming Farosh, you don’t have to collect them one at a time, they stay on the ground through camping till morning, last time I farmed them I had 50 on the ground at once(though after about 30 or so the glow when they fall disappears, but you can still see them falling If you look close). You can change the Chu Chu Jelly’s element by putting them on the ground and swinging an elemental weapon over them or shooting an arrow near them. If you need to cool down or warm up you can equip a fire or ice weapon, just having it on you back will affect you temperature.

2:20 Forgot to mention that if you're holding a frost weapon in a warm environment, it decreases your body temperature a lot, and same goes for flame weapons in cold environments :P

You can disable the special abilities that the Champions give you. I can't stand Daruk's protection.

I’ve been using a strategy I found to get lots of healing foods. Go to a river with lots of fish and use bombs to pretty much hunt all the fish to extinction. Then just cook the fish for about 1 and a half to 3 hearts each, very useful early game.

you can use magnesis to lift certain weapons over your head to create shade. there is also a hot spring in hyrule castle.
